The Rabbit Project

The Biology Experiment

Mon 12 Feb 2002:

I buy my rabbits. 7 New Zealand Whites, 1 Mini-lop, 4 are pedigree. I put them in the cage and they seem to be doing fine. All of them together, some casual mating. No fighting. These are rabbits that have never been a cage with each other, and seem to be doing fine.

Tues 13 Feb 2002:

Rabbits find a way to escape the cage. In the morning I have to chase them all down. I come back from school, they have escaped again, and one non-pedigree New Zealand male is gone.

Sat 17 Feb 2002:

I begin work on three separate pens. Rabbits have stayed together for almost a week. The pens are not to high but I believe they can hold the rabbits. I put the two male rabbits in the cages. They seem to do fine.

Thurs 21 Feb 2002:

An eager male escapes his cage and hops back in with the females. For his punishment I put him away by himself in a cage.
