Remember those who have given all to
protect our freedoms. We are a nation at
war with those who would take them.
remember those of the last few years
and those from previous conflicts.
Remember that Memorial day is a day to
honor Americans who gave their lives for
their country in war time, but remember
too that many have done so who were not
in the military.
Remember the victims of terror, and
the hero's who sacrificed their own lives
to save so many.
Remember the policemen and the firefighters
those of 9-11, and those of your area.
Remember the many that have given so much.
Memorial day can be a personal day of
remembrance as well, a day to place a flower
or wreath on the grave of a parent, or a loved one.
It can be a day to remember the unsung hero's
of life. The proud mother who raised decent kids,
or the neighbor who always stepped in to help.
Remember those who simply always did the
right thing, because they are American hero's too.
It can be a day to reflect on the living.
The parent of a soldier always waiting
for news, or the child of a soldier missing
his mother or father.
Memorial day is a holiday weekend, so go out
and enjoy it. But spend a moment or two and
reflect on why it's called Memorial day, remember
those who have come before, and be grateful.
