Jacqueline’s Junque

Today America lost an ex President, but
we lost much more than that.

We lost an icon of virtue, and a champion
for justice. We lost a man who's vision
reshaped the world for the better. But
more than that we lost an old friend.

America and the world is a better place
because of Ronald Reagan, not because of
his politics, but because of his vision.
It is a better place because of his ability
to see the larger picture, and to always
see it in the best light.

Ronald Reagan was a man of high morals
and uncompromising values. He
was a man of his word, and a man who's
words were always compelling. He was a
man who confronted evil directly, yet did
so with openness and compassion.

Ronald Reagan earned the respect of friend
and foe alike, because he always said what
he meant and meant what he said. This
because he was a man of honor.

He was also a man of humor and wit,
a quality along with his always positive
outlook that even allowed him to joke
as he was entering the emergency room
after being shot by a would be assassin.

Reagan's style and his honesty made him easy
to like. His plain spoken truths had a way
of cutting through much of what we now refer
to as political "spin."

Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest
world leaders of all time. He was both a
statesman, and a diplomat. He came to be known
as the great communicator, yet he spoke in
very plain terms. He was a polite, kind and
thoughtful man, who treated world leaders
as friends, and won their respect.

Ronald Reagan taught us that it is possible to
change the world for the better even in the
face of great odds. He believed in this great
nation, he believed in freedom, and he believed
in the American people.

In President Reagan's farewell speech from
the oval office he said...

"We did it. We weren't just marking time. We
made a difference. We made the city stronger.
We made the city freer, and we left her in good
hands. All in all, not bad, not bad at all."

Then, in his letter saying goodbye after learning
of his illness he said to the American people...

"In closing, let me thank you, the American
people, for giving me the great honor of
allowing me to serve as your president.
When the Lord calls me home, whenever
that day may be, I will leave with the
greatest love for this country of ours and
eternal optimism for its future. I now begin
the journey that will lead me into the sunset
of my life. I know that for America there
will always be a bright dawn ahead."

No, Mr. President THANK YOU!
As you said, not bad, not bad at all.
Good bye Mr. President,
you will be missed.
