THANK YOU BILL!
Nine eleven, three years later...
Three years, that have brought much,
for those of here at home it has been
Three years of healing....
Three years of worry....
Three years of warnings....
Three years of change...
Yet three years of America,
just as she has always been!
Strong, vibrant, and FREE.
Our military men and women are the
reason that we can go about our lives
pretty much as usual. Their sacrifice's have
allowed those of us here at home to live as
if there is no war except on the nightly
news. We have not had to change our lives
much if any, but for those who serve and their families the change has been dramatic.
Our soldiers deserve to be thanked.
They deserve to be thanked clearly, often,
and personally.
I have a friend who is serving currently
in Kuwait, his name is Bill.
Bill is a Navy reservist, a citizen soldier.
Bill has a family, and a job. Bill is a coworker
of mine, we are both salesmen for the same
company. When Bill learned his unit was
being activated he didn't grumble or complain,
he simply saw his duty and prepared to go.
Bill is not the exception in this regard, but
rather the rule. Our military is made up of
volunteers who serve by choice,
they are our bravest and best!
My company bought dinner for Bill and his
wife before he shipped out, and I took him to
lunch, but small acts such as these hardly begin
to properly show our thanks, or show our admiration for those who serve.
We should all be thanking Bill, and all the
Bill's, Fred's, Sue's and Mary's who place
themselves in harms way for this great
country. OUR troops are in harms way
for each and every one of us.
Bill has Internet access, and I will be sending him this page to view, so I have a few things
to say directly to you Bill, and by extension to every service man or woman in harms way.
Your service is appreciated Bill.
The words "Thank You" alone are not nearly
big enough. I want you to know that there
are those of us who understand that liberty
has a price, and it is you who are paying
that price. I want you to know that millions of
Americans pray for your safekeeping.
Willingly serving, and willingly giving up
so much of your life to protect those of
us here at home makes you one of my hero's
Bill, just as it does every man and woman
serving with you. Every soldier and sailor
in theater is in harms way, and every one
of you deserves to know...
YOU ARE APPRECIATED
AND AMERICA SUPPORTS YOU!
I want you to know that your job is secure, and
that it will be waiting for you. I want you to
know that if you need anything done for you here
at home, that you need only ask and your friends
will be there for you. In short I want you and
every service man and woman to feel not only
our gratitude but our support as well!
This page is being posted three years
after the attacks 9-11. There can not be a
better way to remember that days events
and to honor those who have died than to say
Thank you Bill, you have my support,
you have my gratitude, and
you have my admiration!
God Bless and keep you safe!
