John the Baptist

Matthew 3

John the Baptist loved God.  He lived in the desert.  John spent his days telling
people that God would send someone special to them.  Many people listened to
John.  They tried to obey God’s rules.  John took these people to the Jordan
river and baptized them.  One day,  Jesus came to the Jordan River.  “John, I
want you to baptize me,” he said, John obeyed Jesus.  After Jesus was baptized,
God’s spirit appeared in the form of a dove.  God’s voice from heaven was
heard.  He said, “You are my Son.  I love you.  I am pleased with you.”
