When Everything Goes Wrong

When I start the day off wrong
By sleeping just a wee bit long
When little Daniel cries all night
The washer breaks and the sinks a sight
When the house is wrecked by sister's bunch
And Daddy's boss comes home for lunch;
I spill the milk and burn the toast…
That's when I need Him the most.

When nothing ever goes just right
The faucets drip all through the night
When we can't remember the Golden Rule
While even getting ready for Sunday School;
Our bills and payments send us writhing
On the day the preacher talks on tithing;
When our lives are anything but bliss…
Can the Master come on a day like this?

Oh yes, He comes, and stands quite near
And He speaks and we clearly hear,
"Let me take your troubles now
and I will show you the why, then when, and the how."
It is just then, when castles fall--
He came before as I recall;
And spoke to me the kindest word…

"Please remember, I am the Lord,
These trials for help you now plead
Are really mine to bear, you will see.
For I have promised, and will promise forever
That I'll never forsake you, no not ever."
