Lying here restlessly on my bed,
a hundred thoughts rushin' my head.
I should be peacefully asleep,
but this heart you jabbed way to deep.

With just one word I dreaded to hear,
yet all along I've faced that fear.
I knew one day you'd come along,
than forever..... you'd be gone.

Forever gone feels longer than forever here,
still this heart aches to have you near.
To hold me like you said you would,
forever and a day if only you could.

You lead me on with love and hope,
now again I set here tryin' to cope.
I fell hard, this time down to stay,
with little strength to get thru the day.

If I had it to do all over again,
I'd do it all the same.
For in my heart, I felt true love,
as close to you as a hand and glove.
