........Ailerons on an Electra, part 2.......

...Seemed like a good idea at the time..

..The vee-dihedral wing, with ailerons..

I wanted ailerons.. as do most people.. so I built a couple of wings using Electra kit parts.. one flat wing, one vee-dihedral. Single center mounted servo, with push-pull cable in a Nyrod sleeve, aileron span equal to the outer wing span. Horns on the bottom on this wing.

..The vee-wing worked OK....

..This turned out to be as sluggish as the flat wing. A more suitable airfoil would be a Selig 3021.

.Vee-dihedral wing flying ...

Really all-out mod.. Tee-tail, geared motor, ailerons. No big improvement at all. It's also way too slow to exploit ailerons. This wing is now flying on the pusher camera plane after having the ailerons removed, the tips cut off and reinstalled with the kit tip dihedral.
