When did you decide to get into art?
I decided to get into art since the first time I could pick up a pencil, pen etc..(a very young age) my mother worked in a bindery and would bring home stacks of blank paper so I would express my emotions through art.
At what point did you consider your artwork to be worth selling?
Just recently I've decided to sell my paintings, where as before I would just do paintings for family members upon request.
What training, if any, have you had?
Actually I've had no training at all, my technique, style, everything has come from trial and error, I feel a true artist does not need schooling or training (an artist is born an artist).
What medium to you prefer?
I don't prefer any medium especially, I started with pen and ink drawings cause I felt that if i'm going to be an artist I don't need to erase anything so I perfected that and just in the year 2000 I decided to start doing oils. At first it was tricky but as I've progressed I learned new techniques from trial and error. I feel with each painting I do I become better and I learn more do's and don'ts.
Should art be censored in any way?
No, I feel art is the artists true expression. It's like freedom of speech, us artists express our feelings and emotions a different way, not vocal but visual.
What kind of interest is there in art where you live?
I was born in the southwest 40 miles from Santa Fe ,New Mexico(Albuquerque) and I think now that I'm living in one of the most polluted areas in Southern California; the smog the traffic, I feel more of the beauty iv'e seen prior is coming out of me more fluently.(sometimes you don't really notice the beauty of your surroundings till you've gone somewhere else).
How much do you think you have spent on exposure (online, in galleries, in magazines)?
I really don't have the resources or the money now to get the exposure that I really want. (thank you for giving me the opportunity to expose my work I truly appreciate your service).
