Introduction |
["We Die Young" by Alice in Chains blasts over the newly furnished PA system in the Mount Vernon High School gymnasium, signifying the opening of AWA's weekly show, Riptide! The gymnsium is cloaked in blackness, but judging from the loud cheering of the fans in attendence, it's a safe bet that all 540 seats are filled. The lights fade back on to their full brightness as the commentating pair of Harvey Schultz and J.J. Jackson make their way down the curved, makeshift aisle to the announcing station set up at ringside.] Harvey Schultz:: Welcome to those of you in attendence tonight, and those of you viewing at home on public access Channel 77, to Thursday Night Riptide! J.J. Jackson:: Yo, that's right, foo! We gots a mighty fine show lined up fer ya's tonight! Harvey Schultz: Indeed we do, my under-educated friend. Tonight, we begin the first round of the Heavyweight Championship Tournament... J.J. Jackson:: Unda-edumacated? I was leart very well in schoo! Harvey Schultz:: ...and we'll also see great tag team action between those lovable circus performers, the Folk, and those nutty con artists, the Bastardo Brothers... [J.J. turns and looks at Harvey with a somewhat confused look on his face.] J.J. Jackson:: You just say them bros was bastards? Harvey Schultz:: ...and in the main event, the Atlantic Title will be up for grabs as long time rivals Pest and HaZe will square off in a hardcore match. J.J. Jackson:: Hey, you just say them bros was bastards?! |
Heavyweight Championship: Round 1: Standard Match: Pest vs. Pyro-Maniac |
[Linkin Park's "With You" fills the Alexandria gymnasium as Pest enters the building, complete with top hat ensemble and the lovely Perfection at his side. "Mr. Showtime" unfastens the Atlantic Championship belt from around his waist and holds it high in the air, producing a rather loud cheer from the crowd.] Jolly Roger:: Making his way to the ring...*cough* *cough*...accompanied by...aye! That's quite the dame you've got there, mate. Where's me cough medicine? [With that, Roger keels over and falls in a heap with a disturbing gurgling noise. Three ring hands quickly slide into the ring and drag the intoxicated old geezer out under the bottom rope, where they dump him at ringside next to his near-empty bottle of Jack Daniels.] Harvey Schultz:: What a surprise. It looks like ol' Jolly's had a little too much to drink. J.J. Jackson:: Too much ta drink? Man, that sucka's Dee-Runk! [As "Mr. Showtime" and Perfection near the ring, Pest's music suddenly stops. A few seconds later, the lights shut off abruptly, causing a loud gasp in unison from the crowd. After a minute of darkness and utter silence, the lights come back on, and we find Pyro-Maniac hammering away on Pest on the outside of the ring. This premature engagement causes quite the reaction from the crowd as Pyro-Maniac kicks Pest's top hat out of the way and throws him into the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: Referee Mitch Horton has called for the bell, and the first match of the Heavyweight Championship Tourney is underway. [After throwing the Atlantic Champion into the ring, Pyro turns his attention to the startled and frightened Perfection. Perfection begins to backpeddle as Pyro-Maniac slowly stalks her around the ring. Regaining his senses, Pest looks around and sees what's going on. Quick to react, Pest slides out of the ring behind Pyro, spins him around, and dishes out a foul right hand beneath the chin of the Maniac. Pyro-Maniac is knocked to the ground, but is back to his feet in a flash as Perfection scurries away.] J.J. Jackson:: Damn! That Perfection gots a nice ghetto booty on her. Boy, I tell you what! Referee Mitch Horton:: 1...2...3...! ["Mr. Showtime" and Pyro-Maniac begin trading lefts and rights at ringside. Pyro gets the better of the exchange, and slams Pest's face into the steel ring barricade. While Pest recovers from the attack, Pyro picks up the top portion of the steel ring steps and charges at Pest, nailing him in the back of the head with the large metal object!] Harvey Schultz:: Oh my God! Pyro-Maniac just cracked Pest's skull open with those ring steps! I'm surprised there isn't blood gushing! Referee Mitch Horton:: 4...5...6...! [Pyro lifts Pest up and rolls him back into the ring, flashes a quick warning glance at Perfection, the slides into the ring. The Maniac drags Pest to his feet and piledrives him into the canvas. Pyro makes the cover and hooks the leg. 1...2...kickout!] J.J. Jackson:: Sweet Jeebus! That was a close'n. [Frustrated, Pyro-Maniac climbs on top of "Mr. Showtime" and begins to hammer away on his head with several vicious right hands. Pyro pulls Pest to his feet and whips him into the ropes. He bends down for a back body drop, but Pest counters with a desparation Single Arm DDT, causing the fans to cheer madly! Pest musters enough strength to roll over and throw an arm over Pyro-Maniac. 1...2.kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Pyro-Maniac gets the shoulder up! [Pest and Pyro-Maniac slowly make it back to their feet, and Pest strikes first with a spinning European uppercut. Pyro falls backwards, bounces off the ropes, and executes a superkick which takes Pest off his feet. Pyro-Maniac makes the cover. 1...2..kickout! Pyro lifts Pest to his feet, boots him in the stomach, and plants him with a Pyro-Bomb! As he does so, Perfection climbs up onto the ring apron and begins flaunting her goods. Mitch Horton tries to get Perfection off the ring apron, but she grabs the referee by the striped shirt and pulls him closer. As she does so, she tosses a lead pipe into the ring to Pest.] J.J. Jackson:: Man, what you reckon that ho was doin' wit' that pipe 'fore the match? Harvey Schultz:: Easy, J.J. [Pest reaches for the lead pipe, but Pyro-Maniac steps on the weapon, preventing "Mr. Showtime" from obtaining it. The Maniac clobbers Pest in the back with a big clubbing forearm, then grabs him by the back of the head and hurls him over the top rope. Pyro turns his attention to Perfection, who is still distracting the referee, as Pest lands feet-first safely on the ring apron. Pest hops back into the ring and picks up the lead pipe as Pyro shoves the referee out of the way, then pushes Perfection off the ring apron. Pest takes advantage and chop blocks Pyro-Maniac's leg out from under him with the lead pipe. Pest quickly discards the pipe outside the ring just before Mitch Horton turns around.] Harvey Schultz:: Pest blatantly broke the rules, but these fans don't seem to care. J.J. Jackson:: That's 'cause they's all worried 'bout Pafection. [Pest pulls the grounded, injured Pyro-Maniac to the center of the ring and slaps on the Annoyance. Pyro-Maniac is in excruciating pain, but he refuses to give in. He slowly begins to crawl towards the ropes. He inches closer and closer, but just as he's about to reach the ropes, Pest drags him back into the center of the ring and locks in the manuever even tighter. Pyro begins to crawl towards the ropes again, but finally, the pain is too much for the Maniac, and he's forced to tap out.] Harvey Schultz:: Pyro-Maniac has just tapped out, meaning Pest will move on to the semi-finals of the tourney. [Perfection, apparantly unhurt from the bump she received earlier, enters the ring to congratulate her man. She hands him the Atlantic Championship, and he holds it high in the air. Angered, Pyro-Maniac grabs a steel chair and limps back into the ring. He comes at Pest with a bad wheel, but Pest and Perfection immediately clear the ring. The enraged Pyro-Maniac hurls the chair at Pest, but barely misses his mark.] Pyro-Maniac:: Get your ass back here!!! I'm not finished with you yet!!! Not by a long shot!!! Harvey Schultz:: For some strange reason, I don't think we've seen the last of these two... |
Heavyweight Championship: Round 1: Standard Match: Corleone vs. Steve Zapf |
["The Godfather" theme begins to play over the PA as Corleone makes his way out from the back, minus his four bodygaurds. He makes his way down the narrow, curved walkway, slowly surveying the bordering fans on his way to the squared-circle.] Harvey Schultz:: Corleone is without his bodyguards tonight thanks to the owner of this company, Richard Cormier. They've been banned from ringside. J.J. Jackson:: Band from rin'side? They ain't neva done nuthin'! Harvey Schultz:: ...yet. [Corleone pulls himself up onto the ring apron, but before he can enter the ring, he's attacked from behind by an overzealous Steve Zapf. Zapf shoves Corleone into the ring, then follows him in and proceeds to lay several boots and stomps into his head. Referee Mitch Horton starts the match as Corleone slowly regains his vertical base.] Harvey Schultz:: Looks like Zapf didn't wanna wait for this match to start. [Zapf bounces off the ropes and charges Corleone with a head of steam. Steve lunges at the Italian, but Corleone catches him and plants him with disgustingly brutal Corleone Spinebuster that even hurts the fans just to watch it. Corleone drops down on top of Zapf and hooks the leg...along with a handful of his opponent's pants. Referee Horton does not see the illegal move and makes the count. 1...2...3!] J.J. Jackson:: Cheata! Cheata! That foo's a cheata! Harvey Schultz:: Corleone gets an impressive win in record time, even if he did use some underhanded tactics. [Jolly Roger comes to on the outside of the ring and gazes towards the ring. Seeing his arch-nemesis, Corleone, he fumbles around for his nearly empty bottle of Jack Daniels, then rolls into the ring. He wobbles over to the oblivious Italian, winds up, and cracks him in the back of the head with the thick glass bottle. The bottle shatters upon impact, and shards of glass fly in all directions. Corleone drops like a sack of potatoes as blood begins to gush from a nast gash in the back of his head. Head of Security Bruce Vohland enters the ring accompanied by a few other security guards, and the men haul the AWA ring announcer out of the building to the dismay of the crowd.] Harvey Schultz:: What a shot by Jolly Roger! While Corleone will advance to the next round of the Heavyweight Championship tournament next week, he'll be advancing to the nearest hospital right now. |
Heavyweight Championship: Round 1: Standard Match: Mandrake vs. Prince of Death |
[The lights dim and "Dream Song" by Ministry starts up as the Kill Devil Hills Daredevil emerges from the hallway bordering the gymnasium. The crowd cheers loudly for the regional hero as he stands motionless for a moment with his head lowered and his arms down at his sides. Mandrake strolls down the aisle, slides into the ring, and hops up onto the second turnbuckle to survey the crowd. The lights resume as the music fades out and Mandrake patiently awaits his opponent.] Harvey Schultz:: Right now, Pest and Mandrake, the man in the ring, are the two favorites to win this tourney. Let's see if the daredevil can get past this newcomer to the AWA...Prince of Death... ["Thunderkiss '65" by White Zombie starts up, and out comes Prince of Death. He looks at the crowd with contempt before rushing to the ring and diving under the bottom rope. He immediately goes after Mandrake, but the ring veteran takes him down with drop toehold. Senior Referee Perry Daton signals the start of the match, and the bell rings.] J.J. Jackson:: Damn, I still can't believe that cooky pirate wasted the rest o' that Jack Daniels... [Mandrake applies a standing side headlock, but P.O.D. counters with a belly-to-back suplex, dropping 'drake on the back of his head. P.O.D. takes over with an armbar, but Mandrake reverses the armbar, then plants Prince with a DDT. Mandrake goes for the cover. 1..kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Not even close... [Mandrake whips Prince of Death into the ropes, then staggers him with a back elbow. The Kill Devil Hills Daredevil quickly jumps up onto the top turnbuckle, then levels P.O.D. with a Missile Dropkick. Mandrake makes the cover. 1...2..kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: A near fall by the 'drake. [Mandrake pulls P.O.D. up to his feet, but Prince of Death drops Mandrake to his knees with an illegal low blow. The referee chastises P.O.D. for his blatant breaking of the rules, but the Prince pays him no attention and moves in to beat on Mandrake. The Prince of Death pulls Mandrake to his feet, wraps his hand around the daredevil's throat, and delivers a vicious chokeslam. He makes the cover. 1...2...kickout!] J.J. Jackson:: That brotha barely kicked out. [P.O.D. lifts Mandrake onto his shoulders and plants him with a Death Valley Driver. P.O.D. with the cover. 1...2...kickout! Frustrated, Prince of Death lifts Mandrake back up and throws him through the air with a T-Bone suplex. Prince makes the cover again. 1...2...kickout! P.O.D. pulls Mandrake up once again and sticks 'drake's head between his legs.] Harvey Schultz:: Prince of Death can't seem to put away the Kill Devil Hills Daredevil, but I think he's gonna try to end it all right here with the Ride to Hell. [The Prince lifts Mandrake into the air for a powerbomb-type maneuver, but Mandrake counters with the SpellBinder. Mandrake makes the cover. 1...2...kickout! Mandrake stares at the referee in disbelief as the Prince of Death crawls to the corner and pulls himself up. Mandrake attempts an Irish whip, but Prince counters with an Irish whip of his own, then bounces at the far ropes. The two superstars charge at each other at full speed, and P.O.D. attempts to decapitate Mandrake with a running lariat, but the Kill Devil Hills Daredevil ducks under it. The two bounce off the ropes again, but this time Mandrake jumps, turns in mid-air, locks on a sleeperhold, and slams P.O.D. to the mat with the Omen, nearly ripping his head off of his shoulders in the process!] Harvey Schultz:: What athleticism by Mandrake! [Mandrake makes the cover, hooking the leg, as Perry Daton makes the count. 1...2...3!] J.J. Jackson:: That was one fly move by one fly white boy! Harvey Schultz:: That was an impressive debut by Prince of Death, and an impressive win by Mandrake. |
Heavyweight Championship: Round 1: Standard Match: HaZe vs. Griffin Youngblood |
["Painkiller Introduction" by Professional Murder Music hits the Mount Vernon High School gymnasium as the Enlightened One steps out in front of the crowd with his treasured book in his hand. HaZe holds the Book of New Lights high in the air for everyone to see as he walks down the aisle and climbs into the ring. He flips open the book to a pre-marked page and begins to read as his music cuts out.] Harvey Schultz:: Hey J.J., maybe you should take a gander at that book HaZe's got there. It might do some good for you. J.J. Jackson:: No way, Jose! All that's in that book is "devil talk". [The lights dim slightly as "Come as You Are" by Nirvana starts up. Griffin Youngblood comes heads out to the ring, receiving a slightly negative reaction from the crowd. Griffin enters the ring and pulls on the ropes a few times before the bell rings, starting the match.] Harvey Schultz:: You know, I can't tell which one of these guys the fans dislike more, HaZe or Griffin. [The two men lock up in the center of the ring, but Griffin takes HaZe to the ground with a textbook fireman's carry takedown, showing his superior mat skills. HaZe is quickly back to his feet, but is taken down just as fast with a hiptoss. HaZe comes at Griffin and catches him with a poke to the eye. With the odds in his favor, HaZe drills Youngblood with a piledriver. HaZe covers him. 1...2.kickout!] J.J. Jackson:: HaZe just dropped that sucka right on his ol' head! [Both men get back to their feet, and Griffin attacks first with a boot to the mid-section, doubling the Enlightened One over. Griffin hits a swinging neckbreaker, then bounces off the ropes and attempts a running legdrop. HaZe rolls out of the way, and Griffin finds nothing but canvas. HaZe takes advantage of the situation and slams Griffin to the mat with the Dark DaZe. Quickly up to his feet, HaZe looks at the crowd and points to his head in an attempt to show the fans how brilliant he is. Griffin immediately pops back up to his feet, and he's got a glazed over look in his eyes. He lets out a psychotic scream, and as HaZe turns around, he's level with a running lariat.] J.J. Jackson:: Hey, how he get up afta that? Harvey Schultz:: I think Griffin has snapped. He's trying to choke the life out of HaZe. [Griffin has his hands around HaZe's neck, and he refuses to let go. Referee Mitch Horton tries to break the hold, but Griffin shoves him to the ground. He begins choking HaZe again, and again Horton tries to break the hold, but this time Griffin decks him. Horton falls to his hands and knees, but has enough sense to call for the bell and disqualify Youngblood.] Harvey Schultz:: Youngblood doesn't give a damn! Look at his eyes! He's a man possessed! [Griffin drags HaZe to the corner of the ring, wraps his legs around the ringpost, and locks on a figure four leglock around the post. HaZe begins crying out in agony, but Griffin will not release the hold. Bruce Vohland and a handful of security guards rush out to the ring, but Griffin still refuses to break the hold. After several minutes of trying to pry the two apart, Griffin finally relinquishes the hold. HaZe rolls around in the ring clutching his leg in pain as Griffin is carted off by the army of security guards.] Harvey Schultz:: Well, folks, HaZe gets the win, but I don't think he's in any condition to take on Pest tonight for the Atlantic Championship. |
Tag Team Match: The Folk vs. The Bastardo Brothers |
["Damage Inc." by Metallica starts up as Jingles and Jigsaw head down the aisle. The fans begin to cheer for the two circus performers as Jingles slides into the ring, and Jigsaw climbs in behind him. Jigsaw stands with his back to the corner as Jingles sits on the top turnbuckle right behind him.] Harvey Schultz:: Right here, you're going to see a battle between the two premier tag teams in the AWA. The Folk and the Bastardo Brothers. ["Alive" by P.O.D. starts up as Loki runs out, followed by Plaz, who's busy talking on a cell phone. Loki jumps into the ring as Plaz finishes up his conversation, hands the phone to a ring hand, and climbs into the ring beside his younger brother.] Harvey Schultz:: As most of you know, Plaz has started up a business along with his little brother Loki called "PlazTech Computer Systems". It's a shame that he's in debt with the Norweigan Mafia, otherwise he wouldn't have to turn to such methods to make money. [The music stops, and Senior Referee Perry Daton calls for the bell as Loki and Jingles start the action in the ring. Loki walks up to Jingles, holds his hands up as if he's holding an imaginary stick, and snaps it in half.] J.J. Jackson:: Correck me if I'm wrong, but I think Loki just tole Jingles that he's gonna snap 'im in half. [Jingles responds by knocking Loki to the mat with a stiff forearm. Loki scurries over to his own corner and tags in Plaz. Plaz jumps into the ring, but Jingles sends him down to the mat with a dropkick. Loki charges at him again, but Jingles knocks him out of the ring with a clothesline. Plaz is back up, but Jingles meets him with a series of left jabs, followed by a wild right haymaker that sends Plaz over the top rope and out of the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: Look at this! Jingles has single-handedly cleared the ring of the Bastardo Brothers, and these fans are loving it! [Loki and Plaz regroup on the outside of the ring before Plaz slides back into the ring. Plaz and Jingles lock up, but Plaz breaks the grapple with a rake to the eyes. Plaz slams Jingles headfirst into the turnbuckle, then Irish whips him across the ring into the opposite turnbuckle. Plaz follows right behind him and nails him with a clothesline in the corner, then turns and plants Jingles in the center of the ring with a bulldog out of the corner. The fans begin to boo the Con Man as he covers Jingles. 1...2...Jigsaw in to make the save. Perry Daton forces Jigsaw out of the ring, giving the Bastardos time to deal out some doubleteam damage on Jingles. They execute a double vertical suplex on Jingles, and Loki makes the cover as Plaz steps out onto the ring apron and slaps his hands together to simulate the tag. Daton turns around in time to make the count. 1...2...kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Those Bastardo Brothers play dirty, but they've got their gameplan down, and they've got it down good. We still have yet to Jigsaw in the ring. [Loki throws Jingles into the ropes, then bounces off the opposite ropes, but both men wipe eachother out with a double clothesline. Both men are dazed as they crawl towards their respective corners for the tag. Loki tags in Plaz, and Plaz is quickly in the ring to try to stop Jingles from making the tag, but it's too late. Jigsaw gets the tag, and he's in the ring like a house of fire! He takes Plaz down with a big right hand, then Loki. He continues to knock them down just as fast as they can get back up. He delivers a big boot to the face of Plaz, knocking him through the ropes. The strongman lifts Loki over his head and throws him out of the ring as Plaz pulls himself up on the ring apron. Jigsaw grabs Plaz and lifts him in the air to vertical suplex him back into the ring, but Loki quickly grabs a hold of Jigsaw's feet and pulls them out from under him, causing Plaz to land on top of Jigsaw. Plaz makes the cover as Loki continues to hold onto Jigsaw's feet outside the ring. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: I can't believe it! The Bastardo Brothers have squeaked by with a tainted victory over the Folk. Look at Jigsaw, he's yelling in Daton's face about the illegal activity that just took place, but Daton won't hear any of it. |
Interview: Griffin Youngblood |
[The camera man heads out into the hallway, where Sheldon Grimes, new AWA reporter, is standing by with Griffin Youngblood. Griffin has a somewhat crazed look in his eyes as Grimes turns the microphone on and begins the interview.] Sheldon Grimes:: Griffin Youngblood, how do you plan on explaining your actions out there tonight? Griffin Youngblood:: Explain? I don't have to explain a damn thing! Sheldon Grimes:: Well surely, there must be some way that you can justify what you did to HaZe out there tonight. [Youngblood gets an aggitated look on his face as he glares at Sheldon. Griffin grabs the microphone out of Grimes' hand, but before he can speak, an infuriated Richard Cormier storms into view and snatches the mic out of Griffin's hand.] Richard Cormier:: I don't know what in the hell you were trying to do out there, but we don't have any room in the AWA for lunatics like you. So, as of right now, you can consider yourself on inactive reserve. You're suspended! J.J. Jackson:: Suspended? Damn, the nest thing y'know, he gonna come out heya and try ta give somebody a lunch detention. [Cormier hands the microphone back to Grimes, who takes a step back, afraid of what might happen. Griffin grabs Cormier by his necktie and pulls him close. The two stare eachother down for a moment until the silence is broken by a loud scream. A bald man with tinted goggles on the top of his head flies into view wielding a Singapore cane wrapped in barbed wire. The crazed individual swings recklessly at Cormier, but Cormier is able to dodge out of the way. The owner of the AWA takes off down the hall, kicks the door open, and runs outside into the cold breeze.] Harvey Schultz:: That's...that's Kris Kartier...but he's shaved his head. What's with the new get-up? [Kartier stands holding his barbed wire weapon, shaking and breathing hard. Youngblood is laughing and pointing at Cormier's misfortune, but for some reason, Kartier takes exception to this. Kartier winds up and brings the Singapore cane down hard on the left shoulder of Griffin. Griffin falls to his knees as Kartier begins to lay into him over and over with the Singapore cane.] Sheldon Grimes:: My Lord! Kris Kartier is beating the living hell out of this man! Kris Kartier is suspended! Kartier shouldn't even be in this building tonight! Kris Kartier is out for blood, and he's really doing a number on Griffin Youngblood! Kris Kart... [Having heard enough of Grimes commentary, Kartier stops his assault on Youngblood, grabs Grimes by the hair, and smashes him head-first through the glass portion of the vending machine on the side of the hall. Sheldon's limp body falls to the ground, his face now covered with his own blood as Kartier calmly reaches down and grabs the microphone.] Kris Kartier:: Cormier...Cormier...Where are you Cormier? WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?! Cormier...I'm in your mind, Cormier. I'm gonna get you sooner or later. I'm in your mind, I'm in your dreams. I'm your nightmare! I'm everyone's nightmare. I AM NyGhtMaRe! [With that, NyGhtMaRe drops the microphone, picks up his Singapore cane, and stumbles out of the building in search of Cormier, leaving nothing but carnage in the hall.] Harvey Schultz:: That man IS a nightmare... |
Hardcore Match: Pest vs. HaZe | Atlantic Championship |
J.J. Jackson:: Man, that NyGhtMaRe brotha needs ta be in-sta-too-shu-na-lized! ["With You" by Linkin Park starts up, and "Mr. Showtime" makes his way to the ring for the second time tonight, this time without Perfection at his side. He climbs into the ring and hands the Atlantic Title to Senior Referee Perry Daton.] Harvey Schultz:: I'm guessing that Pest had Perfection stay in back due to the reputed violence of Hardcore matches, but there very well might not be a match at all. I seriously do not think HaZe is in ANY condition to wrestler tonight unless he has a doctor take a look at that knee of his. ["Painkiller Introduction" by Professional Murder Music starts up, and the fans look towards the entrance. After several seconds, nobody appears and the music stops. The crowd begins to boo, but suddenly, the music starts up again. This time, HaZe hobbles out with a horrible limp to a surprising cheer from the fans.] Harvey Schultz:: My ears must be deceiving me, but I could have sworn I heard these people cheering for HaZe. [HaZe hobbles to the ring and rolls under the bottom rope, but is immediately met with a series of boots by the champ. Daton calls for the bell, and the match begins. Pest targets HaZe's injured right knee and begins going to work on it.] Harvey Schultz:: Things are already looking bad for HaZe. The Enlightened One had better hope that Pest doesn't decide to lock the Annoyance on him, or it's gonna be over in a short-short. [Pest continues to stomp away on HaZe's knee, but stops just long enough to roll out of the ring and grab a steel chair. Meanwhile, HaZe uses the ring ropes to pull himself up to his feet. Pest closes in on his wounded opponent with his chair at the ready, but HaZe has enough presence of mind to jump up and dropkick the chair into his face. Pest is knocked to the ground, and HaZe grabs his knee upon landing on the mat.] Harvey Schultz:: HaZe manages to kick that chair into the champ's face, but hurt his knee in the process. [HaZe rolls out of the ring, and Pest climbs back to his feet. HaZe begins digging around under the ring, and Pest comes out after him to investigate. HaZe pulls a fire extinguisher from under the ring and sprays it in Pest's face. Pest staggers backwards, and HaZe takes full advantage and blasts Pest in the face with the extinguisher. HaZe makes the cover. 1...2...kickout!] J.J. Jackson:: That was cuh-lose! Harvey Schultz:: We almost had a new Atlantic Champion. [HaZe throws "Mr. Showtime" in the ring, then heads in after him. HaZe picks up the chair and lifts it over his head to hit Pest, but Pest counters with a low blow. HaZe drops the chair and falls to the ground, allowing Pest to grab the chair and beat him severely with it. Pest lifts HaZe up onto the top rope and prepares him for a Superplex.] Harvey Schultz:: Could we see a Superplex? [Pest goes for the Superplex, but HaZe blocks it. Pest attempts it again, and again HaZe blocks it. HaZe begins fumbling around in his pocket for something, but Pest clobbers him with a trio of forearms to the side of the head. Pest attempts the Superplex again, but this time, HaZe pulls a pair of brass knuckles out of his pants pocket and busts Pest in the forehead. The crowd begins to boo the Enlightened One, but he pays them no attention and perches himself atop the turnbuckle.] Harvey Schultz:: I don't believe. HaZe's only got one good wheel. He's gonna lose his balance. [HaZe pushes off the top rope with all of the strength in his one good leg and connects with the Enlightenment on Pest. HaZe clutches his knee after nailing the 450 Splash, but has enough sense to throw an arm over the now badly bleeding Pest. Perry Daton makes the count. 1...2...3!] J.J. Jackson:: New champ! New champ! Harvey Schultz:: HaZe somehow pulls through and defeats Pest to become the champion! I can't believe it! [Meanwhile, HaZe grabs a copy of his Book of the New Lights, then borrows a permanent marker from the announcer's table and signs his name on the book. Rolling back into the ring, HaZe places his masterpiece on Pest's chest. The crowd begins to throw thrash at the new Atlantic Champion as he rolls out of the ring and limps to the back with his newly won belt.] Harvey Schultz:: Fans, that's all the time we have this week. For J.J. Jackson, I'm Harvey Schultz. We'll see you next week! |
