Introduction |
["We Die Young" by Alice in Chains cuts through the air inside of the nearly packed Ramsey Regional Activity Center as thousands look on from the stands, and several thousand more view at home on public access Channel 77 in the AWA's home state of Virginia. Harvey Schultz and J.J. Jackson are already positioned at ringside as a nice display of blue and teal pyrotechnics shoot off at the top of the steel ramp. The fans become excited and start cheering as the music slowly dies out along with the fireworks. The camera pans around the arena before it settles in front of Schultz and Jackson.] Harvey Schultz:: Welcome to Cullowhee, North Carolina, where we're in front of the largest Riptide crowd to date! J.J. Jackson:: Damn, that's a lot o' peeps out there... Harvey Schultz: Tonight, the Alantic and Tag Team Championships are on the line as Mandrake faces off against Steve Zapf and the Folk defend their belts against the team of James Nightbane and Machine. J.J. Jackson:: Bro, that Machine is one scary dude, yo. Harvey Schultz:: Folks, sit back, grab a beer, a soda, some apple juice, whatever it is you drink, and prepare yourself for an explosive night of entertainment. |
Standard Match: Rusty vs. P.O.D. |
["Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor starts up and out walks Rusty, minus the Don. Ziset receives a mixed reaction from the crowd as he proudly marches to the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: That hairy boy chest is nothing to be proud of... [Ziset slides into the ring, then begins hopping back and forth on his toes to warm up. The music cuts out abruptly, and the arena goes pitch black, drawing a collective gasp from the fans. Sitting in darkness for a few moments, the light resume, and P.O.D. is standing in the ring behind Rusty. Having done his homework, Rusty is prepared for P.O.D.'s tactic, and mule kicks backwards, catching P.O.D. in the groin!] J.J. Jackson:: Ow. Harvey Schultz:: It looks like Rusty did his scouting for this match. [Prince falls to his knees as Rusty immediately applies a head-and-arm and goes for a pin. The referee quickly calls for the bell to start the match, then makes the count. 1...2...kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Whoa, not even ten seconds into the match, and Rusty already with a nearfall. [Rusty is like a rabbid wombat as he releases the hold and begins to wail away on his opponent. P.O.D. climbs to his knees, but Rusty drops him back down to the mat with a knee to the back of the head. Rusty covers him again. 1...kickout!] J.J. Jackson:: Yo, how he gonna do the Run-By wit'out the Don there? Harvey Schultz:: I don't know, Julius, I don't know. [Rusty works P.O.D. over with an armbar in an attempt to get the Prince to submit, but to no avail. Frustrated, Rusty pulls P.O.D. to his feet and goes for an Irish whip, but Prince of Death reverses. Ziset springs off the ropes, and P.O.D. sends him high into the air with a back body drop. Rusty lands hard on the mat and grabs his back while screaming out in pain. P.O.D. bounces off the ropes and hits a running legdrop, then makes the cover. 1...2.kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Rusty is having trouble with his opponent here tonight, but he'll have even more trouble when he faces a Damn Fine Man at the upcoming SuperCard in a retirement casket match. J.J. Jackson:: A Damn Fine Man? A Damn Fine Man?! I don't wanna see no Damn Fine Man! I wanna see me a Damn Fine Woman! [P.O.D. pulls Rusty to his feet and Irish whips him, but Rusty reverses, sending his larger opponent into the ropes. Rusty follows behind him, then drops to the mat on his stomach, causing P.O.D. to hop over him after rebounding off the ropes. Unable to stop, Prince of Death collides with Perry Daton, knocking him to the mat. Rusty takes advantage of the referee's misfortune and dropkicks P.O.D. in the back, knocking him through the ropes to the outside of the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: There's a collision in the ring, Perry Daton is out, and Prince of Death is out. What's Rusty doing? J.J. Jackson:: I believe he be takin' off that turnbuckle pad. [After working the padding for a few seconds, he finally loosens the strings and removes the pad, exposing the steel bolt beneath. P.O.D. slowly slides back into the ring, but Rusty is there to meet him with a double axe-handle to the back. Rusty stomps him for a few times, then pulls him to his feet, backs him up against the ropes, and clobbers him with a big right hand to the face. Rusty then applies the Sustainer, choking out P.O.D. and keeping his feet rapidly moving all the while.] Harvey Schultz:: Perry Daton is slowly coming to, and P.O.D. is also making it back up to his feet after that vicious chokehold by Rusty. [A groggy Prince of Death slowly stands as Rusty measures him, gets a running start, and slams P.O.D.'s head into the exposed buckle. P.O.D. falls to the mat, out cold, as Rusty makes the triumphant cover. Perry Daton is slow to make the count. 1.....2.....3!] Harvey Schultz:: Rusty picks up an impressive victory over P.O.D., and the Prince continues to lose. Prince of Death really needs to make a turn around, and I mean soon. J.J. Jackson:: Yeah, yeah. It seemed like he had Pyro-Maniac's number at Undatow, but thangs just keep goin' wrong for the Prince. |
Tag Team Championship #1 Contender Match: Tag Team Match: Super Bastardo Bros. vs. Army of Two |
[Crystal Method's "Name of the Game" starts up, and out walks Plaz, followed by Loki. Both men look determined(yes, even Loki) as they head down to the ring, actually receiving a few cheers from the crowd. Loki's body is void of any baby oil, which is odd, and Plaz and Loki simply climb into the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: Are my ears deceiving me, or are some of these fans actually cheering for the Bastardos?! J.J. Jackson:: No, dawg, your ears ain't deprivin' ya. Yo, and it's 'bout damn time, too! Harvey Schultz:: Depriving? ["Dig" by Mudvayne starts up as the lights beging pulsing to the rythym of the music. Army of Two steps out from the back, both men clad in their new t-shirts. Jerry's shirt reads "Army of Two" while Billy's reads "Army of To". Jerry knocks on his helmet for good luck before the duo heads down the ramp, receiving nothing but boos from the crowd.] Harvey Schultz:: These guys crack me up. I wonder if anybody actually believes that either of these men were in any branch of the Armed Forces... J.J. Jackson:: Are you kidding me?! How dare you question the cedibitilly of these two vetruns! [Once in the ring, Suggs grabs a microphone, most likely to tell one of his 100% truthful stories.] Billy Suggs:: I once knew a man named Loki... [Jerry taps Suggs on the shoulder and pulls the mic towards his mouth.] Jerry Verboncour:: Uh, you never knew anyone named Loki... [Suggs jerks the microphone away and glares at his partner.] Billy Suggs:: (in a somewhat whining voice)They don't know that! (clears his throat)Yeah, anyways, I once knew this f*cker named Loki back when I ten years old. (Suggs begins to drift off into his story)I was on vacation in Jerry's fu*king great home state of Texas. I was in this bar, drinking, smokin' the ganja, when this hottttttttt b*tch comes up to me and asks me if she can ride the mechanical "Billy Bull". There was nowhere we could discreetly do it at, so I took her out to to this cattle field and made her pay the price! Heh, Heh. Then, the stupid b*tch started whining that I was breaking her in too hard, starts telling me how she was a virgin and some minister's daughter...fuuuuu****kkkkk. Anyways, I was a little flattered how this hottttt virgin couldn't resist the Backwoods Barracuda, but she just kept b*tching and whining. So I just finished up my business, and then stole her wallet to boot! Heh, heh. Then her father found us and was chasing me down the street with a 12 gauge, fuuuuu****kkkk, religious man my ass! So, uh, anyways Loki, prepare for the worst fu*king beating of you life! [Jerry greedily pulls the mic out of Billy's hand.] Jerry Verboncour:: Uh, Bill, you didn't mention anyone named Loki in your story. [Billy begins to scratch his head, a little bit puzzled.] Billy Suggs:: Oh sh*t, I fu*king forgot! Oh well, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. The bottom line is, you Bastardos are gonna pay. Oh, and you can bet on that! [Suggs tosses the microphone out of the ring while he and Loki retreat to their respective corners as Horton calls for the bell. Plaz prepares to lock up with the Pissed-Off Texan, but Jerry has other plans and hits Plaz in the throat. Jerry then goes for a bodyslam, but Plaz quickly reacts with a thumb to the eye. Some of the fans are actually laughing as the two rulebreakers throw out the rulebook. Plaz goes for a bodyslam of his own, but Verboncour strikes with a rake o' the eyes. Temporarily blinded, Plaz turns towards his corner. Verb. then attacks with a rake o' the back. Verboncour hits a belly-to-back suplex, then tags in Suggs.] J.J. Jackson:: In comes the Backwoods Biakabatuka... Harvey Schultz:: Biakabatuka? You mean the football player? J.J. Jackson:: No, trick, I'm talkin' 'bout the fish. Damn, Harvery, didn't yo mamma never learn you nothin'? Harvey Schultz:: Apparently not... [Suggs enters the ring and drops an elbow on Plaz, then covers him. 1...kickout! Plaz fights to his feet, but only to be thrown to the ropes by Suggs. Plaz bounces off the ropes, and Suggs locks on a sleeperhold. Plaz struggles for a few moments, then reaches up and grabs Billy's head, then falls to the mat. Suggs jaw smashes into the top of Plaz's head, causing him to release the hold and fall to his knees in pain. Plaz bounces off the ropes and dropkicks Suggs in the chest, knocking him to the mat. Plaz quickly tags in Loki. Plaz and Loki execute a spike piledriver on Suggs before the older Bastardo exits the ring. Loki covers his opponent and hooks the leg. 1...2...Verboncour is in to make the save!] Harvey Schultz:: That was a close one. Army of Two was a micro-second away from losing this match. [Suggs lays in the corner like a wounded duck as Plaz goes to work on him with several knees to the back. Plaz pulls Suggs to his feet and goes for a vertical suplex, but Billy counters with a suplex of his own. Suggs slowly recovers and makes it to his feet, wearily heading to the wrong corner. Realizing which corner he's in, Suggs quickly slaps Loki across the face, then backs away to his own corner as Loki attempts to enter the ring. Horton restrains him, giving Jerry Verboncour the opportunity to enter the ring and drill Plaz in the back of the head with his helmet!] Harvey Schultz:: Verboncour just nailed Plaz in the back of the head with his Army helmet, and the referee didn't even see it. [Suggs covers Plaz as the referee turns around to make the count. 1...2...kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Plaz got the shoulder up! Plaz got the shoulder up, and Suggs is beside himself! He can't believe it! [Suggs slams his fists down on the mat in frustration! Pulling Plaz into his own corner, Suggs tags in Verboncour, and the two begin to mercilessly hammer away on the Bastardo. Having seen enough, Loki hops over the top rope, charges across the ring and hammers Suggs in the back of the head with a flying forearm, knocking him out of the ring. Loki turns and connects with a clothesline on Verboncour, and both men pour over the top rope to the arena floor. The fans are on their feet as Loki and Jerry duke it out outside the ring. Meanwhile, Suggs begins searching under the ring and finds his favorite toy...the sledgehammer!] Harvey Schultz:: Honestly, what in the hell is a sledehammer doing under the ring?! J.J. Jackson:: Maybe they needed to hammer in the ringposts or sumthin'... Harvey Schultz:: Highly unlikely... [Plaz begins to shake off the effects from the shot to the head with the helmet as Mitch Horton tries to regain some order and separate the two men on the outside. Suggs slides into the ring with the sledgehammer, waits for the perfect moment, then nearly takes off Plaz's head with a clothesline-like maneuver with the sledgehammer!] Harvey Schultz:: What a sickening shot to the head! Suggs is making the cover, but he's not even the legal man. Horton is back in the ring, he's lost control of this match. [Unsure of the legal man, Horton goes ahead and makes the count anyways. Loki tries to slide back into the ring to make the save, but Jerry latches on to his ankle. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: I don't believe it! This must be a fluke or something! Army of Two have just defeated the Bastardos! Army of Two are headed to the SuperCard to take on the Tag Team Champions! |
Standard Match: Mandrake vs. Steve Zapf | Atlantic Championship |
["Not Enough" by 3 Doors Down hits the speakers as the challenger makes his way through the curtain. The crowd's reaction is a mixed bag as Steve Zapf trots down the ramp, hops up onto the ring apron, and climbs into the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: Well, we're set to have an Atlantic Championship match, and there's the challenger. As of late, Steve Zapf has been having troubles with his former friend, Pest. ["Dream Song" by Ministry rocks the arena as the seven thousand plus come to their feet paying homage to their fellow North Carolinian. The Atlantic Champion, Mandrake, slowly paces out onto the steel grating with the belt firmly fastened around his waist, and the audience goes crazy! Most of the Kill Devil Hills Daredevil's upper body appears to have been drenched with water as he stands motionless at the top of the ramp with his head lowered. After a few moments, Mandrake raises his head and begins jogging down to the ring, unfastening the belt from around his waist as he does so. Mandrake drops the belt to the floor before sliding into the ring and going straight for Zapf!] Harvey Schultz:: Mandrake and Zapf are trading blows back and forth center stage here in the Ramsey Regional Activity Center, and these fans are loving it! [Mandrake backs Pest into the corner and begins stomping away on him. The champ applies a headlock, then drags Zapf out of the corner and plants him in the middle of the ring with a bulldog headlock. Mandrake rolls him over and goes for the pinfall. 1...kickout! Mandrake quickly applies a headlock, trying to wear down his opponent.] Harvey Schultz:: Mandrake goes for the quick pinfall, but it's gonna take more than that to put away a guy like Zapf. He's as tough as they come. [The daredevil pulls Zapf to his feet and goes for a vertical suplex, but Zapf counters with a small package. 1...kickout! Both men are quickly back to their feet, but Mandrake takes Zapf down with a hiptoss, followed up by an armbar. Zapf works back up to his feet and shoves Mandrake off into the ropes. Mandrake rebounds and knocks Zapf to the ground with a standing shoulder tackle. The champ bounces off the adjacent ropes as Zapf rolls over unto his stomach. The Kill Devil Hills Daredevil leaps over the top of him and bounces off the far ropes. Zapf quickly stands and catches Mandrake right in the chops with a beautiful superkick! Zapf quickly makes the cover, hooking the leg. 1...2...kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Yow! That was close! J.J. Jackson:: Cuh-loce! Harvey Schultz:: We almost had a new Atlantic Champion. [Zapf attempts to get a submission out of his foe by locking on a single-leg crab. Referee Perry Daton checks with Mandrake, but he refuses to give up as he works his way to the ropes. Finally, the champion latches onto the bottom strand, and Zapf releases the hold. Mandrake pulls himself with help from the ring ropes as Zapf closes in on him. Mandrake strikes first with left jab, and Zapf retaliates with a right hook. The two lock up with Zapf holding Mandrake against the ropes. Daton calls for a clean break, and Zapf gives Mandrake a clean break. The fans applaud his show of sportsmanship as the two begin to circle one another in the center of the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: This is proving to be an even contest between these two. Coming into this match, I would have said that Mandrake would destroy Zapf, but I stand corrected. [The two lock up in the center of the ring. While doing so, Pest walks out from the back and heads down the ramp, earning him a frightfully loud boo from the crowd. Zapf takes control with an arm wrench on Mandrake, but Mandrake reverses the arm wrench and turns it into a hammerlock. Unable to escape the hold, Zapf begins to run around the perimeter of the ring before dropping to his stomach, letting Mandrake's momentum carry him out of the ring!] J.J. Jackson:: That was all momenumum! [Mandrake flies through the ropes out of the ring right at Pest's feet as Pest simply looks down at him. Mandrake rolls over to his knees then stands and looks over at Pest. Pest simply stares back at him with a smirk on his face, but does nothing as Mandrake rolls back into the ring. Zapf moves in to attack, but Mandrake quickly reacts with an inverted atomic drop on Zapf, causing him to prance around the ring. Mandrake comes off the ropes with a head of steam and nearly takes Zapf's head off with a flying clothesline. Mandrake makes the quick cover. 1...2...kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Whoa! Another close call. Zapf is back up, but he looks like he's out on his feet. [Mandrake whips Zapf to the corner, but Steve reverses it and follows right behind him. Mandrakes grabs the ropes and slingshots himself backwards over Zapf's head as he runs beneath the daredevil. Stunned, Zapf turns around...right into the SpellBinder, planting him in the center of the ring! The fans erupt as Mandrake jumps up onto the top turnbuckle and stands poised for a moment. He then comes off the top rope with a Swandive Senton Bomb on his opponent. Mandrake covers him and hooks the leg. 1...2...kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: Man, I thought he had him for sure! [Mandrake pulls Zapf up, and Zapf goes for a desparation clothesline, but the Atlantic Champion ducks it, locks on a sleeperhold, and drops him to the mat with the Omen! The fans go ballistic as Mandrake covers him. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: Mandrake has successfully defended the Atlantic Championship. What a hard fought match by both men. Give them credit. [Mandrake grabs the gold and rolls out of the ring as Pest enters the ring to take advantage of a beaten Steve Zapf. Mandrake heads up the ramp, unaware of what's happening.] |
Changing Colors? |
["You Must Die" by the Bloodhound Gang starts up as a green mist fills the entrance area. Suddenly, the luchador, Chameleon runs out from the back! He sprints down the ramp past a stunned Mandrake and slides into the ring, but only to help Pest dismantle Steve Zapf. The crowd begins to boo as Mandrake stands on the ramp and watches for a moment.] Harvey Schultz:: That's the Mexican wrestling legend, Chameleon! Has he been signed by the AWA?! [Chameleon and Pest drill Zapf with a spike piledriver. Having seen enough, Mandrake drops his belt and sprints back into the ring. He begins rocking both Pest and Chameleon with big right hands before sending them both over the top rope with a double clothesline, clearing the ring of all opposition as the fans eat it up. Pest and Chameleon retreat to the back as Mandrake stands tall in the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: Mandrake has just come back down to the ring to help out the guy that he was just going toe-to-toe with! Up next, Pest will be heading back out here to take on NyGhtMaRe. |
Somebody has some reading to catch up on... |
[The rythmic beat of "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed starts up as the fans come to their feet in anticipation. NyGhtMaRe runs out from the back with a crazed look in his eyes; his barbed wire Singapore cane in one hand, a steel chair in the other. The fans let out a good-sized pop for the man, despite the fact that he's not all there. NyGhtMaRe stomps down to the ring swinging his weapons back and forth with each step before tossing them into the ring. Kartier then slides into the ring under the bottom rope and sits in the corner, rocking back and forth.] J.J. Jackson:: Yeah, uh, there's sumthin' seriously wrong with that dude. Harvey Schultz:: I won't argue that. ["With You" by Linkin Park starts up, and the music is met with a roar of displeasure. Pest struts out, complete with top hat, and stands at the top of the ramp with his hands on his hips. The fans continue to boo him as he smirks, shakes his head, and walks down to the ring. He climbs into the ring and heads to his corner as Mitch Horton climbs into the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: I'm gonna have to give the edge in this match to NyGhtMaRe. He's the Epitome of Hardcore, and he's been on a roll as of late. But don't count out Pest. I believe that pound for pound, he's one of, if not the best technical wrestler in the AWA today. Unfortunately, technical wrestling won't help him much in a hardcore match. J.J. Jackson:: Exacatickly. [Just as Horton calls for the bell, the lights dim.] o/` What have I done? o/` o/` I feel so bad, I feel so numb, yeah!o/` Harvey Schultz:: That's Nightbane's music. ["Feel So Numb" by Rob Zombie starts up. Some cheer, and some boo as Nightbane steps out onto the steel grating. NyGhtMaRe and Pest both stop and look at Nightbane. Nightbane kneels down at the top of the ramp and holds his hand in the arm, then clenches his fist and retracts his arm as four large bursts of pyro shoot off behind him.] Harvey Schultz:: What in the hell is Nightbane doing out here? We're supposed to be having a hardcore match. [Nightbane gazes down at the ring, then raises his arms into the air, as if summoning something. Suddenly, books begin to fall from the rafters into the ring. Hundreds of books rain down into the ring. Thinking quickly, NyGhtMaRe drops the Singapore cane and uses the steel chair as an umbrella. A few of the books strike Pest in the head, knocking him to the ground from the impact. Nightbane pulls a microphone from the inside pocket of his black trenchcoat and raises it to his mouth.] James Nightbane:: How's that for Enlightenment? [Nightbane snickers, then turns and leaves as hundreds of books litter the ring and the surrounding area. A few fans reach over the gaurdrail and grab themselves a souvenier.] Harvey Schultz:: Those are all copies of the Book of the New Lights! This is insane. J.J. Jackson:: I might have to read me one o' them books. [Jackson walks out in front of the commentator's table and grabs one of the books, then shoves it into his vest.] |
Hardcore Match: NyGhtMaRe vs. Pest |
Harvey Schultz:: Well, know that Nightbane has interrupted this match, I think we're ready to begin. [Pest stands back up with his hands clutching his head as NyGhtMaRe runs and lays Pest out with the steel chair. NyGhtMaRe grabs his Singapore cane and begins laying into Pest with it as the fans cheer approvingly. Chameleon runs down the ramp and hops up onto the ring apron, but receives a shot to the head from the Singapore cane for his troubles. Smelling blood, Kartier exits the ring, drops the Singapore cane, and lifts Chameleon to his feet. He throws him into the steel gaurdrail, then slams his head into the steel ringpost. Chemeleon collapses to the floor, but the Epitome of Hardcore is relentless.] Harvey Schultz:: NyGhtMaRe has Chameleon back up, and he's just thrown him into the ring steps! [Pest recovers inside the ring, but has a small battle wound above his left eye in the form of a cut. NyGhtMaRe slides back into the ring, but the waiting Pest begins to unload on him with heavy right hands to the back of the head and neck. Infuriated, Pest throws NyGhtMaRe into the corner and begins to pound him with a series of punches, forearms, and elbow shots to the head. Pest Irish whips NyGhtMaRe across the ring to the opposite turnbuckle, then picks up the steel chair and follows after him. Using the ring ropes, Kartier pushes himself forward and kicks the chair back into Pest's face. Dazed, Pest spins around in the center of the ring, giving NyGhtMaRe time to lock in the Karta-Hajime!] Harvey Schultz:: NyGhtMaRe locks on the Karta-Hajime! It's only a matter of time before the lights go out for Pest. [Mitch Horton raises Pest's arm then releases it and it falls limp.] Mitch Horton:: 1! [Chameleon begins to stir outside the ring as Horton raises Pest's arm a second time. Again, it drops.] Mitch Horton:: 2! [Chameleon slides into the ring as Horton raises Pest's arm a third time and let's go. For the third time, it falls limp as Chameleon cotheslines Kartier from behind.] Mitch Horton:: 3! Harvey Schultz:: Chameleon was too late! NyGhtMaRe takes this contest via submission, but the action's not over yet. [Chameleon grabs the steel chair and raises it above his head, then brings it down hard on the top of NyGhtMaRe's head. NyGhtMaRe wobbles around the ring, but doesn't go down. Again Chameleon winds up, and this shot sends NyGhtMaRe down to the mat. Chameleon lays into him a few more times for good measure before helping Pest out of the ring. As Pest and Chameleon exit the ringside area, Kartier pulls himself over to the ropes. He stares at the duo with a half smile on his face.] Harvey Schultz:: What is wrong with Kris Kartier?! He's smiling! He's smiling as if he's just enjoyed what happened to him. |
Brotherhood of the New Lights Gauntlet: Standard Match: Corleone vs. Pyro-Maniac |
["The Godfather" theme music starts up as the mobster, Corleone, comes out from the back. The fans cheer him as he solemnly walks down the ramp, a determined look on his face. He climbs up onto the ring apron, wipes his feet on the mat, and enters the ring. He stands with his back to the entrance and waits while clenching his fists impatiently.] Harvey Schultz:: Can Corleone run the Brotherhood's gauntlet? What do you think, J.J.? J.J. Jackson:: No way, Jose! No way Hose B, too. Although I wouldn't mind seeing him beat the snot outta Pyro-Maniac. [Drowning Pool's "Bodies" starts up as Pyro-Maniac rapidly walks out onto the stage and immediately heads for the ring. He slides under the bottom rope and charges Corleone, who still has his back turned. At the last second, Corleone turns and plants him with the Corleone Spinebuster!] Harvey Schultz:: My Lord! Corleone just turned Pyro-Maniac into a pancake, and Pyro isn't moving! [Referee Perry Daton slides into the ring and starts the match as Corleone quickly covers his opponent and hooks the leg, along with a handful of his opponent's pants. Corleone then props his feet on the second rope for added leverage as Pyro struggles to break free. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: I can't believe it! Corleone has already taken care of Pyro-Maniac! So what if he broke nearly ever rule in the book. In a match like this, you do what it takes to survive. J.J. Jackson:: Word up, yo. That's how it is on the streets, baby. |
Brotherhood of the New Lights Gauntlet: Standard Match: Corleone vs. Machine |
["The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson starts up as the lights darken. Machine walks out onto the ramp and heads down to the ring, but Pyro-Maniac isn't finished yet. Pyro goes for a running lariat, but Corleone ducks it, kicks Pyro in the abdomen, then hits a running knee lift which sends Pyro up and over the top rope. Machine grabs the top rope and pulls himself up onto the ring apron, but Corleone is there to meet him with several right hands.] Harvey Schultz:: Let's see how Corleone fares against this monster. [After landing about a half-dozen right hands, Machine finally retaliates with a big right hand of his own, knocking Corleone back several feet. Machine steps into the ring over the top rope, and again Corleone goes right at him. He nails Machine with a clothesline, followed by a dropkick, but they have no effect on the giant. Again Corleone attempts a dropkick, but Machine simply brushes him aside.] J.J. Jackson:: Yo, that Machine is invincanable. Harvey Schultz:: It sure seems that way, don't it? [Pyro-Maniac is up on the outside of the ring, but not for long as Pest runs down from the back with a lead pipe in hand and whacks Pyro across the back of the head.] Harvey Schultz:: Pest has just gotten a little redemption for what Pyro-Maniac did to him and Perfection in weeks past! Listen, I think some of the fans are actually cheering him. [Pest kicks away some of the books and pulls back the protective padding, exposing the cold, hard concrete. Inside the ring, Machine grabs Corleone by the neck and throws him into the corner, then begins choking him with his large boot. Pest lifts Pyro-Maniac into the air and piledrives him on the concrete, then exits through the crowd as Nightbane and HaZe run out from the back to aid their fallen ally.] Harvey Schultz:: Well, Pest has gotten a small degree of revenge against Pyro-Maniac. Inside the ring, Machine is having his way with Corleone. [Machine grabs Corleone by the hair and drags him to the center of the ring, then throws him into the ropes. As Corleone bounces off the ropes, Machine locks on the Goozle. The monster lifts Corleone into the air with one arm and slams him to the mat, causing a loud hiss from the crowd. Instead of going for the cover, Machine begins to blatantly choke Corleone in front of the referee. Daton makes the mandatory five-count, and Machine finally breaks the hold.] J.J. Jackson:: Yo, Corleone ain't gonna last much longer, bro. [Machine lifts Corleone to his feet, then lifts him into the air and drops him to the mat with a Jacknife Powerbomb. Corleone lands in a heap, but instead of going for the cover, Machine lifts him again, and again he receives a Jacknife Powerbomb.] Harvey Schultz:: Machine is trying to take Corleone out for good! What's he doing?! He's lifting him up again! No! Another Jacknife Powerbomb! That's three, and still no pin attempt! [Instead of going for the pin, Machine locks on another blatant chokehold. The referee gives him the five-count, but this time Machine does not release the hold. Again, Daton warns him, but Machine ignores him and continues to choke the life out of Corleone. Finally, Daton tries to pry Machine off of Corleone, but Machine shoves him to the mat and continues to choke his foe. Perry Daton calls for the bell, disqualifying Machine, much to the fans' delight.] Harvey Schultz:: I can't believe it! Machine is outta here! Unfortunately, I don't think he's gonna be in any condition to take on HaZe. [Eventually, Viktor Krauser enters the ring and pulls his monster off of Corleone! The two Germans exit the ring, and the crowd erupts as Mandrake sprints out from the ring and comes down the ramp at full speed. Machine steps forward and nearly decapitates the Kill Devil Hills Daredevil with a boot to the face!] Harvey Schultz:: Mandrake is out...! And Mandrake is down. |
Brotherhood of the New Lights Gauntlet: Standard Match: Corleone vs. HaZe |
[Mandrake begins crawling back up the ramp as Machine slowly stalks after him. HaZe climbs up onto the ring apron, then hops up onto the top turnbuckle. The Heavyweight Champion stands for a moment before coming off with the 450 Splash. Mandrake climbs back to his feet and turns, but only to receive a thrust to the throat by Machine. HaZe makes the cover inside the rign. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: HaZe steps in and picks Corleone's bones clean with the Enlightenment, but it was Machine that did all the work. [Machine and Mandrake continue to battle atop the entrance as they near the edge. Mandrake runs at Machine, but Machine grabs him in the Goozle. Machine lifts him into the air and slams him off the top of the entrance ramp through a table position on the ground some seven feet below. Mandrake busts through the table and lands on the floor with a thud. Mandrake lays motionless as Machine stares down at him while the fans begin booing. Inside the ring, Nightbane and HaZe begin to pummel Corleone.] J.J. Jackson:: Hey, hey! This is crazy. Harvey Schultz:: We need to regain some order, we have a Tag Team Championship match up next. |
Tag Team Match: The Folk vs. James Nightbane & Machine | Tag Team Championships |
["Damage, Inc." by Metallica starts up as Jingles and Jigsaw come out from the back. HaZe rolls Corleone outside the ring as he and Pyro-Maniac begin to pound away on him outside the ring. Machine cuts off Jigsaw at the top of the ramp as Jingles sprints down to the ring and meets Nightbane. Machine and Jigsaw go at it at the top of the ramp like two bulls butting heads. Machine, the bigger of the two by far, begins rocking Jigsaw with big right hands, followed by a cothesline. Jingles slides into the ring, but is immediately attacked by Nightbane. All hell has broken loose in and around the ring, and referee Perry Daton has absolutely no control whatsoever.] Harvey Schultz:: This isn't a tag team match, this is a damn ho-down! [Nightbane takes Jingles to the mat with a crisp, textbook vertical suplex. Machine and Jigsaw fight their way down to the ring as Nightbane snapmares Jingles down to the mat and covers him. Daton, assuming the match is now underway, counts the fall. 1..kickout!] Harvey Schultz:: This is insane! Corleone is still being assaulted by HaZe and Pyro-Maniac on the outside of the ring. J.J. Jackson:: Hang tight, by brotha, I'll be right back. [Julius takes off his headset, grabs his steel folding chair, and makes his way around the ring. Jingles knees Nightbane in the mid-section, then takes him to the mat with a bulldog, followed by a cover. 1..kickout! Machine rolls Jigsaw into the ring, then climbs up onto the ring apron. Machine steps into the ring as Jingles dropkicks Nightbane back down to the mat.] Harvey Schultz:: I'm not sure who the legal man is here. I'm assuming it's Jingles and Nightbane, but I really haven't a clue. [Jingles goes for a hurricanrana, but Nightbane plants him with a sitout powerbomb/pin combination. 1...2...Jigsaw boots Nightbane in the head to break up the count! Jigsaw turns around right into a big boot from Machine, leveling him. J.J. Jackson sneaks around the ring with the chair, then runs full speed and hammers Pyro-Maniac in the back of the head, laying him out. HaZe looks up at Julius, and the commentator drops the chair and takes off running to the back. HaZe gives chase as the two men disappear backstage!] Harvey Schultz:: J.J. just took out Pyro-Maniac! Excuse me if I sound excited. [Jingles and Nightbane are back up, and Jingles is striking with repeated right hands. Nightbane is on his heels as Jingles winds up. Machine grabs Jingles' arm, spins him around, grabs him by the neck, and throws him nearly all the way across the ring. Jigsaw pulls himself back to his feet as Machine locks on the Goozle. The fans begin to boo as Machine lifts him into the air and slams him to the mat. Jigsaw rolls out of the ring as Machine follows him.] Harvey Schultz:: I have no clue what's going on here! [Jingles crawls back up, and Nightbane is there waiting. He kicks Jingles in the stomach, then drops him with an Implant DDT!] Harvey Schultz:: There is was! Darkness Falls! Nightbane just hit his move, and it's only a matter of time now. [Nightbane covers Jingles and hooks the leg. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: We have NEW Tag Team Champions! The Brotherhood of the New Lights has almost monopolized the title scene here in the AWA. All they need now is the Atlantic Title, held by Mandrake! [Nightbane grabs one of the Tag Team Championship belts and holds it in the air as Machine continues to hammer away on Jigsaw outside the ring. There are bodies scattered all throughout the arena as Nightbane stands tall in the ring with his belt.] Harvey Schultz:: Well, folks, for the running J.J. Jackson, I'm Harvey Schultz. See you all next week! |
