Band History

The noncommodity now known as Backwards To Zero was first formed in the summer of 98 by Mike, Gina, and her cousin Paul P the 3. We didn't really do much but it was fun and semi-productive. By the summer of 99 let's just say that the three of us took a much needed leave of absense. Later that year, knowing PP the 3 would not return, Mike and Gina started jammin again and soon recruited Joe as singer and guy with a really big amplifier. By that time they really concentrated on writing original material and adopted the name Igono. By the summer of 00', the infamous Sammiejag became the bass player and Fred joined in July 00' as singer, songwriter, and all around cool guy (who wrote most of the song Declined). In the summer of 01 Fred kind of drifted off and the band parted with Joe due to creative differences.

During the summer of 01 Alex came aboard as the new lead singer. After some shows Alex decided to leave and pursue his solo project. And the band was cool with that. The music was just not right for him. In the fall of the same year Sammie decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. For a very short period of time Alison became rhythm guitarist. But soon left to join Up to Par. After all the band shifting and rearranging:
There dawned a new age, the age of Backwards to Zero.(translation: the band renamed)

What was left of the band searched and found much to their delight Ben. He had become the bassist and sometimes guitarist of the band. He brought a harder metal edge to a mostly punk / ska / revolutionary influnenced band. With Ben in the mix and a heavier sound the band went in search of a singer. They tried out several and then found Matt (aka Vdub). The band was very happy to find such a skilled and dependable singer. He flowed, sang, improvised, and was a great asset to the band.
After 2 shows Ben left to play guitar in a metal band, and Sammie rejoined the band. in the spring of 02. Shortly after Sammie returned Slick McFavorite (formerly of Gun Moll) joined us on lead guitar providing some killer solos. The man can shred like no other.
In the fall of 02 the band parted ways with V-Dub due to creative differences, and Rob joined as another guitarist, bringing the total up to 3 6-stringers. They also decided to share the duties of vocals. Shortly after, Rob dropped out due to work, and the band altogether decided to call it quits. They played their last show on November 23, 2002, as a trio (Sammie, Mike, Gina).
