D¹² Ventrilo Setup Help Page

Note: Please do not distribute this IP to any non-D¹² at this point as we are still testing to
see if all the D¹² members will be able to use Ventrilo or not.

Hi everyone,
The following is a series of links and screenshots to help assist in setting up Ventrilo.

First off, everyone can download version Ventrilo 2.2.0 by clicking here

Step 1- Setting up your user name (this will be what is read by the text to speech so no need to include the D¹² tag.)
Once installed, run Ventrilo. Now click the arrow to the right of the User Name blank, which is shown in the screenshot below as 1..
We must then select new to create a new name. This brings up a dialog box that you type your name into. Mine is would be "Super-B" . Now select ok and leave the rest of those settings the same.



Step 2- Microphone and Audio Setup
Make sure your setup screen matches the one below in every aspect except for the fact that the "Device" name may differ based on your sound card. Also you may need to adjust your "Silence time" and "Sensitivity". In addition, the Hardware, Outbound, and Inbound bars may need to be adjusted to suit your personal preferences. Also use the "Test" button to test you mic and its sensitivity. When in test mode talk as you normally do for a couple seconds, once you stop what you said will be played back. If nothing happens then your sensitivity may be too low, try lowering the Sensitivity. But if during test your heavy bear like breathing is picked up then you may need to lower your sensitivity :)

Once you've got this done. Close Ventrilo. and Click the Ventrilo logo below.
This will load up our new D¹² Ventrilo server for you.
