Another highly translated book of koans is The Gateless Gate, featuring some 48 koans, some sources have 49, 5 of which are Zen Master Joshu's. "The Great Way has no gate, A thousand roads enter into it. When passing through this gateless gate, We freely walk between heaven and earth." That is a number one kong an! Ha ha ha. The Gateless Gate is also sometimes referred to in Korean as the Mumonkon. If You are interested in more on the Gateless Gate book of koans, my personal favorite tranlsation is: Gateless Gate by Koun Yamada-complete with vital commentary by author pushing us in the right direction.
