Put together in the mid of 2004, Cosmic Funk Express was the brainchild of Zack and me. It's really funny how we came about; a mutual friend who also happens to be my other band's drummer introduced us to each other. He couldn't stop bugging me to tell me how great of a guitarist Zack were. And out of sheer annoyance I decided to just jam with them so that my buddy would stop bugging me. And Boy, was I grateful that he pestered me so much. Zack was absolutely brilliant! I just had to play together with him. And so after a series of brainstorming of who to fill our drum throne, we roped in Elliot.

The chemistry we had as a trio worked wonders. Somehow, like it was written in the cosmos, we clicked. Before we know it, we started funk-ing the local scene with our cosmic grooves. As much as our name suggest that we are a funk band, in reality I do have to admit that we are more of a fusion band. Fusing funk, rock and a bit of jazz

. Another aspect of our music that we hold dear is our sense of humor. We believe that entertainment while delivering highly infectious grooves is very important in today's music world. So with that, don't be surprised if you suddenly see us in a schoolgirl uniform the next time you pop by for our gigs!

And if you were wondering where we got the name? I seriously don't know. It came to me in my sleep.
