Vanishing Lessons (1994)
Much like Anthrax did with "Sound Of White Noise", Tourniquet return with a different vocalist and a somewhat different direction. The sound here is more stripped down and groove-oriented but still very much a Tourniquet album as far as the melodies and riffing goes. The "weirdness" of past Tourniquet albums isn't as prevelant either and new vocalist Luke Easter pretty much uses his powerful, high range singing style (think "Practice/Souls"-era Chuck Billy) througout most of the disc, opting not to use any odd vocal effects. You would think that if a band had a style as distinct as Tourniquet's, any kind of change in musical direction would be hard to get used to. That's not the case with this album as it's a very solid effort and the songs themselves are amazing. Another great Tourniquet release. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the album cover was actually taken from an old Harry Houdini promo poster. Rating: 5/5
