Okay, so you've decided to become a Witch. You've done all of your research, and did a super witchy self-dedication to your Deities. Great. Now What? What about supplies? Supplies? Supplies ... Oh My Goddess! I've only been a witch one day and I'm already doomed. Is this how you're feeling? Well, don't panic. That's right. Don't dial 911. Call off the ambulance.Forget about the paramedics, unless of coarse, they're from the show Third Watch. Then by all means call on Bobby. Otherwise, you're not going die. So you can just relax, and put your heart back in your chest.
The truth is, most new Witches are either in their mid-teens to early twenties, and ironically enough decide to become Witches during the height of finiancial drought. Or for others, when you're more likely to be struck by lightening before seeing another fifty dollars. Let's face it. We're not just Witches, we're daughters and sons, brothers and sisters. We have families who need us, car insurance to pay, and jobs and school to go to. Money comes and goes. And so does time too. And unless you're the child of a celebrity, or the offspring of millionaires, living the Magickal Life as a new Witch is really hard to do.
Look, as a Witch, you want the best supplies with the most effective and quickest Magickal effect. But if you're a new Witch who's just starting out, and all your money is going towards a car, and you're sixteen years old, with parents who are more like June and Ward Cleaver than you'd like, getting the $$ to buy those ' real ' Magickal supplies, is a nightmare. And so, being twenty-two and actually having to live through this kind of ' Magickal Supply Dilemma 'for four long years, I have searched far and wide, and nearly burning my house down, trying to find the best answers to that age old 'Magickal Supply Dilemma ' for New Witches.
And what do you know, I found most of my answers at grocery store for under ten bucks. Imagine that. New Witches really do have a shot at living the Magickal Life without having to lose a limb, or resorting to selling their eggs and sperm.
And so for all you Budwits, or Budget Witches out there, here's some of the answers to your problem.
CRAFTY MIRACLES LIST FOR BUDWITS
GLADE CANDLES BY SC JOHNSON ~ for around $2.99, you can set your sight on a magickal carpet ride anytime. Perfect for Budwits, who need great long lasting candles with built-in scents. Comes in a variety of colors and scents, pre-packaged and ready to burn as soon as you get home.
*Witch's Note: These candles are also great if you have noisy Christian/Catholic parents. Subtle enough for the whole family to admire and appreciate, without setting off a parental/family witch hunt.Word to the wise, I suggest not putting herbs onto the candles when the flame is going, makes nasty black burns on the candles, plus the candle's scent will turn a bit smoky that might cause mom and dad to raise a brow or two. And if you don't have a burin, but wanna engrave a few names or magick symbols in the candle, you can use a toothpick. Pens are not recommended, for they easily squish letters and ruin the candles.
GLADE AROMA THERAPY ROOM SPRAYS BY SC JOHNSON ~ for about $2.99, you can get all the power of incense and magick without setting off the smoke alarm. Or dealing with your parents and a very unwanted ivisible drug search and seize. My fav is Refreshing Citrus. Perfect for those days when you run out of incense or just trying to be a good witch with a low profile. Subtle and enjoyable enough that even your mom can appreciate. Refreshing Citrus is really light and citrusy with bergamot and rosemary.
*Witch's Note: A truly great way to attract some friendly spirits or a quick way to spice up a spell casting. Comes in about four different scents. Please do not use to snort, sniff, or injure yourself with these, they do contain fatal ingredients.
SOFTSOAP BRAND BODYWASHES AND LOTIONS ~ Not only are these antibacterial bodywashes ( about $2.99 ) great for showering, but they're perfect for quick magickal showers for on the go Witches. These nifty body washes and lotions, come in a variety of great smelling scents and antibacterial combinations. Great for those spells that require magickal baths.
*Witch's Note: Can substitute Softsoap with Caress Body washes and lotions but they are more expensive to use, but work just as well.
DIAL ANTIBACTERIAL HAND SANITIZER WITH MOISTURIZERS ~ About a $1.99-$2.99, you can make sure your magickal energy doesn't scatter all over and help kill germs without water. Great for health conscience Witches. Helps keep your hands clean and soft, when casting a spell or performing a ritual.
CRAFT STORE STONES - Yeah that's right. For about $4.99-$9.99 you can buy already pre-packaged stones, like calcite, onyx, jasper, amethyst, carnalian, rose quartz, blue agate and many more in a box of 15 or more. Same magickal stones as sold by those on the internet and everywhere else at half the price too.
*Witch's Note: As well as many craft stores, you can also find stones in such stores like gift shops including Hallmark Gold Crown stores if you look hard enough. You can even buy stones for low prices at local flea markets and some stores at the mall too. Cleanse the stones in a salt or lemon-water bath once a month
Keep them wrapped in white linen cloth between uses
Aurically ( use your aura ) to pull away any residual energies lingering on the stones between readings
Regularly visualize the stones being filled to overfollowing with white, purifying light that replaces any darkness
Regulary charge the stones in sunlight or moonight to keep their energies balanced and at maxium capacity
Periodically carry the stones or sleep with them under a pillow to increase your sensitivity to their vibrations
*Witch's Note: Personally, to help charge and cleanse my stones, I use a bottle of Evian and switch every month using sunlight with lemon water one month, and salt water with the moonlight the next.
