Phonecall 45

A corporate nightmare on a Sunday night
A grown-up reminder that I am still alive
I don't need another friend maybe you do
The speedway burned to nothing and I thought there might be you

I called Jonny up and I said
These are the things that I'd like to forget
I've had x number of endings
X number of endings
When do I begin
When do I begin

Los Angeles invades my privacy
Love and respect in the front of a book lied again to me
I don't need another war maybe you do
A list of all the things that do not belong to you

The lava train came through my northern town
I will show you mine if you show me around
I don't need another rush maybe you do
Deep inside I know I am coming back for you

I called Jonny up and I said
These are the things that I'd like to forget
I've had x number of endings
X number of endings
When do I begin
When do I begin

I'm writing this on the day before Valentine's, Feb. 13, 1999.

St. Valentine wasn't a romantic fool.
He was a martyr who got his head chopped off due to his religious beliefs.
Oh wait, that does sound rather romantic. ;)

I feel oddly detached about Valentine's Day, this year.
It seems odd not to have some girl I'm 'desperately in love with'.
I'm between crushes? ;b
I did send off a couple of V internet cards...
One to my best friend, a girl I talk to almost every day,
who I've felt like I was in love with on occasion...
it goes in cycles -- when she tells me about some guy
she's maybe interested in then I go back to just thinking of her
as a friend. But we're so comfortable together...
it's so easy to imagine us living together.

And I sent a card to my last year's big crush.
We haven't talked much lately...
don't seem to have much to say.
I don't have those lists of questions for her, these days.
She's the one who went off to Paris for 6 months.
I wrote her about 40 email letters while she was away.
She read them all when she got back.
And she said _________.
(She didn't really say anything...)
She gave me one of these: ;)

So far my only valentine is from this kooky boy I know.
I guess SF~Paris girl liked having an adoring fan,
and it's kinda cool that now I have a fan, bwehehe...

I was gonna write more on this topic, but V-Day came and went... :)

Back home.
