St. Patrick Day 2008

"Floss 'N Gloss" was in its eighth strait year of participation in the St. Patrick Day Parade in Muncie, Indiana. The parade started at Muncie Central High School parking lot and traveled south about eight blocks and then made a loop and returned to the parking lot. There were 5000+ people lining the streets in the downtown area.
This years parade was on March 15, 2008. It was scheduled to start at 5PM so that more families would be able to be in attendance.
There was scheduled to be at one point twelve vehicles in the parade, and in the last week of preparations there was (as usual) always a few tweaks to the lineup due to vehicle problems, work, etc. We ended up with eleven vehicles to represent our group and we are proud of that turn out.
Back in 2001, the only representation of the club was via Roy Davis(President) and Jason Carper (Vice President) who were in Roy's Camaro.
The turnout had increased all the way to 6 vehicles for three strait years and a total of fifteen people in the vehicles, but alot of major probs came up last minute for our group. After prvious last minute problems the idea was brought up to cancel intirely, but instead we felt it was important to continue our tradition of putting out the best show that "Floss 'N Gloss" has to offer! And something is always better than nothing.
This year the parade was due to start at 5pm, so Roy Davis(President) arived early. The lineup was scheduled to start at 4pm and he wanted to make sure everyone was in their proper places.
First was Roy Davis(President) and his 1995 Teal Camaro with Andrea Hamilton riding shotgun. Second in line was Joe Watson driving and Derrek Mace riding in the back of Joe's GMC Sonoma. Third was James "Rascal" Nixon(member) in his 1999 Chevy Silverado. Fourth was Amber Nixon(member) in her 1995 Ford Mustang. Fifth was Josh Sparks(recruit) in his 1990 Chevy Cavalier. Sixth was Jacob Dalton(member) in his 2000 Pontiac Grand AM. Seventh was Jason Carper(Vice President) walking his Pit Bull-"Tyson" and Crista Carper(Jason's wife) driving their 2007 Chevy Trailblazer. Eigth was William Said(member) and his family in their 2007 Chevy Trailblazer. Then we had Will and two of his members from Mystical Ryders join us. They were driving a Mazda 6(Will, his wife Lindsey, and son Landon), RX8(Steve), and a GTI(Ian and his wife Amy) respectively.
Braging rights...."FNG" was AGAIN the only car club to pay for a slot in the parade. That made it EIGHT strait years in a row that "Floss 'N Gloss" was the only car club paying for a slot in parade line-up.
"FNG" has grown considerably in the last few years and this year was the largest turnout in the clubs history. And we plan to be even larger in 2009. Keep an eye out for the us...you will be surprised in our progress.
After the parade was over, we went to Fazoli's and got something to eat. They were nice enough to provide free drink to all of our members that decided to hang out there. We even had Khalid Mussa drive who missed the parade, but was able to drive his Dodge Ram SRT10(the viper engine) and join us at the resturant.
A big THANK YOU goes to the managers at Fazoli's(Primarily the General Manager-Lauri) who agreed to give everyone in our group a free drink. Also, Roys family, all of the "FNG" members as well as everyone else who participated in, supported, and helped make the St. Patrick Day Parade what it was.....THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
