Sid & Nancy

by Alex Cox, 1986.

Starring: David Hayman, Courtney Love, Gary Oldman, Andrew Schofield, and Chloe Webb.

Rating: 4/10, 8/10.

OK, I’m not gonna say much about this movie. It tells an extremely fictionalised tale based on the real story of Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols and his wife, Nancy, whom he very likely murdered. It’s a very good movie, but very hard to watch—there’s a lot of shouting and fighting, and it’s awfully depressing, and it seems really long. But Sid Vicious (Oldman, I believe) is very very hot (though you wouldn’t know it from the picture here). I should really stop talking about how attractive the actors in the movies I review are. Anyway...yeah, if you like shouty depressing movies about punk rockers, see it. Because it’s a good example of the...er...genre.
