Oct 1988.....'Steve The Poet' (STP) takes over on vox after Jimi refuses to perform live and the New Age Swing style evolves with such songs as DON'T DROP DA BOMB BABY, SEX WITH AN OBJECT, ISOLATIONS LIKE A DIAMOND, and NOBODY LIKES ME.
Feb 1989.....HAPPY THE CLOWN perform first show ever at The Channel Lounge with STP on vox he is soon after given da boot
Apr 1989.....A battery blows up in the movie camera while filming an upsidedown cross at four nine
May 1989.....HAPPY THE CLOWN perform for the first time as a dual at The Jumbo Lounge. Steve and Al share vox and debut film worx. They are later accused by Jumbo Management of showing movies of the Pope being shot. Word gets around town and attempts are made at banning their film worx.

Apr 1996.....HAPPY THE CLOWN and CRASH COURSE co-release TRIM THE TREE (original title PINCHUSION). Steve looks for his sweater and retains the catch phrase "where's my sweater".
May 1996.....Classically Trained Jewish Punk Chick from clown party joins HAPPY THE CLOWN on keyboard. Performs at the Middle East. Then disappears after Al lends her his keyboards.
Oct 1996.....HAPPY THE CLOWN release AFTERLIFE. A trip down christianity lane.
Jan 1997.....Malcum joins HAPPY THE CLOWN on keyboard. Plays various shows including performance at R&R records in Lowell.
Jul 1997.....Spike and Hunter join THE CLOWN when they play at HEXX. The boys get to the gig so early that by the time they go on stage everyone in the band is shitfaced. Malcum is given da boot and spike takes over on keyboard. Hilarity ensues. Luke dismembers a doll. Ask him about it… Al, on leave in Arizona at the time, receives a phone message from his landlord threatening to have 49 Bromfield 'condemned' after the Somerville Fire Marshal mistakes the place for a Haitian Religious Cult Compound.

Nov 1997.....HAPPY THE CLOWN play Jacques and feature Lily on vox for a live rendition of DA HUT. They close out the show with Luke and Wayne joining the clown in a rousing version of LOUIS LENT featuring Steve on clarinet, Wayne on bass (syd vicious style), and Luke on vox. Luke ends da show by stomping on a doll. After the show Steve gets excited checking out da 'chix' upstairs.
