A Brief History in the Life of LiZ

Born and raised in Toronto, 25 year old LiZ has always had a deep admiration of music.  As a kid, she recalls singing along to Olivia Newton-John albums (and even admits to being a Kenny Rogers fan), posing herself in front of the mirror, "microphone" brush in hand, performing her own arrangements most likely about sandboxes and show-and-tell.  Regardless, LiZ has always had a strong desire to be heard and a passionate admiration for music.

Piano was the first instrument that LiZ began composing on at the age of eight.  Since then, she has dabbled with the trumpet and various other percussion instruments, but it was not until three years ago when she had seriously played a guitar (compared to years prior of strumming nonsense and banging strings) that she realized she had found her future.

Her repertoire of songs is vast and eclectic.  Her lyrics are thought provoking and intense at times.  When asked about the chorus of the tune Uncover [Let me in ‘cause it's cold outside / Inside of you I could run and hide / retaliate my wants and solicit my mind / Uncover the truth when we're combined], LiZ simply says, "It's about knowing you have a connection with someone, but that person is too afraid to explore anything outside their little world... It's like, just let go and be intimate!  Open yourself up, you might learn something about yourself... or it might just mean, let's just have sex!"

It is because of her passion for and dedication to music that LiZ hopes to share her songs with others.  Her musical voyage is a continuous work in progress, as there are many songs to sing and perform.  Yet, LiZ never seems to lose sight of herself.  "I have such a passion for life.  I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by great people, great family, a great country and a really cute puppy (big animal lover).  My music expresses some of the emotions connected with what I see, experience, hear and feel... I will never stop hearing the music in everything... life is a song!"
