The Scarecrows

An earthy band with an eloquent southern rock sound from, get this, Norway! The Scarecrows are not lacking for any "rootsy" sound in their music or their release Crowman. Lots of mandolin, acoustics and twanged vocals in the mix for this album. You'd think the band was coming straight at you from Jacksonville, FLA instead of from across the pond. Nice grooves all-in-all from this effort and great sound in the the tradition of Drivin' and Cryin' and Vigilantes of Love. Check out their album and more from The Scarecrows at:

The Soul Of Eddie Skuller

Finely tuned album which is introspective and thoughtful in many places. I get the feeling that "The Soul Of Eddie Skuller" is a personal album which has been dubbed as a greatest hits compilation. Some elements were dark and soulful but seemed to all fall into place.

The synthesizer was an interesting touch to the album, giving it a soft and poetic sound.

Johnny Wishbone

The album "Make It Nice" comes at you in a funky, alternative rock sound throwing licks at you with a nice sound. The album kind of swung me towards the Spin Doctors meet Metallica, if that makes any sense to you. Not lacking for any style or hard hitting play in this album. Johnny Wishbone has a super tight sound and expectations for this album should be at a high.

Sophia Ramos Dupree

Superb, kick-butt and soulful sounds from this indie artist. I was blown away by her styling in a 4 track CD that I was lucky enough to listen to. This lady needs an album quick to provide everyone with her HOT look and sound. Janis Joplin has been revived and placed into a stomping, hard edged and driven melee of rock-n-roll, jazz and soul. The gods have smiled upon us once again. I found a little taste of Mother's Finest in this one.
