Let me first start off by saying that as soon as the self-titled CD, "Miss Fortune" found my stereo, I became hooked on this Boston band's sound. Miss Fortune took to the studio and completed this album with what sounds like an unlimited supply of kahunas and talent. The first thing that really jumps out at you , is the crisp sound of each tune as it was recorded. Many of the tunes were reminiscent of The Jellyfish with maybe a little bit of Queen thrown in for good measure. I speak blasphemy when I say that Boston is quickly beginning to edge its way to the front with the amount of talent that Beantown is producing. Miss Fortune definitely has the viability of radio play and staying power as far as I see it. It's hard to imagine why we haven't heard more about this quartet before. I believe that Miss Fortune may be one of the best kept secrets in Rock and Roll today. The album begins with a hard driven and harmonious tune entitled, "Disappear" which sets the tone for the rest of the album. I assure you that none of the quality or imagery in the rest of the songs lacks for anything. "If You Died" and "Before I Go" are two of the notables on this album in which I really enjoyed taking a listen to. It was very interesting as well to see how the band managed to slip from different stylings and rythym with surprising ease that's only found in the veteran artists. All-in-all a very, very fine piece of work from Miss Fortune. Look for more great things from them in the near future.
