Opening in the UK this week:
A $1 million independent film which was an adaptation of Charles Bukowski's second novel, "Factotum." This was shot on location in St. Paul,MN where Mayor Randy Kelly declared July 12th to be Matt Dillon Day! The film "Barfly", starring "Mickey Rourke",was based on Bukowski’s life, the main character being his alter-ego, Henry Chinaski. Factotum will be released in early 2006.
Matt recently completed "Loverboy", an adaptation of the Victoria Redel novel that stars Blair Brown and Kyra Sedgwick. This independent film is directed by Kevin Bacon.
Matt Dillon will receive this year's Gotham Awards Feature Tribute, with HBO's Sheila Nevins and producer Bob Yari serving as Gala co-chairs.
Over the Edge will be released for the first time on DVD in Sept 2005. Rumble Fish will be re-released on DVD in Sept 2005; this will include
previously deleted scenes. The Outsiders will also be re-released in Sept 2005. This new two-disc DVD, will include 22 minutes of additional footage & soundtrack, special features including a new introduction and commentary from director Coppola and cast. The movie will be shown in theatres in limited cities in September as well.
