This is the history of Miles Mouth Guard as seen through the eyes of band
guitarist Tyler.
Who is miles? We like to sing about chicken. We like to hang out with
the crowd. We like selling home made t-shirts. We like to converse.-Tyler:)
about nothing. We love Jesus, but hate religion. We like eating 99 cent burgers. We like shopping at
salvation army. We like hanging up flyers in the middle of the night. We
like to make people smile. We like to run around with sharp objects and
video cameras. We like jogging at night. We like putting on puppet shows.
I don't recall exactly when those other bands I was in became Miles
Mouth Guard but I will estimate that it came into being about two years
ago in 99. One day singer/lyricist Nate come to me during lunch and said
hey want to play in a punk band. I shrugged and said sure. We got
together with guitarist Sam and bass player Jory and we instantly we had
a fan base. Even before our first show we had sold dozens of t-shirts
and stickers. We began practicing our rough but yet melodic brand of
punk rock with drummer Lucas of Fractured image.
Soon we began playing shows on back porches, granges and church
basements. Like most bands we made a lot of mistakes on simple songs
what went perfect in practice but we never stopped playing. Inevitably
our line up changed, Sam moved to bend and Lucas returned to Fractured
Image. We went through probably a dozen drummers in our first year I
don't remember who all of them were so I wont even begin to list them.
In December Nate went to YWAM in denver. I was sure that this was the
end of miles… nope! Nate came back…
A few months later I hear that Miles Mouth Guard is still playing with
Nate, Sam and Mark (the drummer from the hard core band I played in
called Mindset) Nate called me up and told me what was up and asked If I
still wanted to play, I shrugged and said sure. Miles as they are known
today consists of Nate on guitar and vocals, Tyler (Me) on guitar and
bgv,s, Jory on bass (vocals if we resurrect our famous chicken song) and
our current drummer Ken. I guess what it all comes down to is this we are just a bunch of
fun lovin' punks who still want to play.-Tyler:)
