This CD is a collection of live performances recorded from 1989 through 1991 at Potter's in Greenville, R.I. and Gillary's in Bristol, R.I. John Spreier produced and recorded the album using a line level direct from the mixing consule. Newbird was: David Chandler on keyboards & vocals, Kenny Johnson on drums, John Spreier on bass & vocals, and Fred Wilkes on guitar & vocals. Fred sang the lead vocals on all of the songs except Steady Rollin' Man, Don't Let Go & Pressure Drop which were sung by John and Mister Charlie, They Love Each Other & All This Love which were sung by David. All This Love was written by David Chandler. Don't Let Go was written by John Spreier. I Shot the Sheriff was written by Bob Marley. It Takes a Lot to Laugh - It Takes a Train to Cry was written by Bob Dylan. Mister Charlie was written by Ron McNernan and Robert Hunter. One After 909 was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Pressure Drop was written by Frederick "Toots" Hibbert. Steady Rollin' Man was written by Robert Johnson. That's What Love Will Do For You was written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. The Harder They Come was written by Jimmy Cliff. They Love Each Other was written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. U.S. Blues was written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. |
