This CD is a collection of live performances recorded from 1989 through 1991 at Potter's in Greenville, R.I. and Gillary's in Bristol, R.I. John Spreier produced and recorded the album using a line level direct from the mixing consule. Newbird was: David Chandler on keyboards & vocals, Kenny Johnson on drums, John Spreier on bass & vocals, and Fred Wilkes on guitar & vocals. Fred sang the lead vocals on all of the songs except Don't Let Go & Steady Rollin' Man which were sung by John and All This Love & The Music Never Stopped which were sung by David. Billy Smith played harmonica on Key to the Highway, I Hear You Knocking, and That's What Love Will Do For You. All This Love was written by David Chandler. Contrary to Ordinary was written by Billy Jim Baker. Don't Let Go was written by John Spreier. Double Trouble was written by Otis Rush. I Hear You Knocking was written by Smiley Lewis. I Second That Emotion was written by Smokey Robinson and Al Cleveland. Key to the Highway was written by Charles Segar and Willie Broonzy. My Sisters And Brothers was written by Charles Johnson. One After 909 was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Steady Rollin' Man was written by Robert Johnson. That's What Love Will Do For You was written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. The Music Never Stopped was written by Robert Weir and John Barlow. Tulsa Time was written by Eric Clapton. U.S. Blues was written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. Wonderful Tonight was written by Eric Clapton. |
