The plan was to enjoy the fall colors and visit the highest peak in the state of Massachusetts : Mount Greylock, placed at a whooping 3,491 feet. This highest summit is the centerpiece of the 'Mount Greylock State Reservation' and was designated in 1898.

The route to Mt. Greylock treated us to some scenic views of the Fall colors in the state of Massachusetts.

There were numerous locations on the 'Mass Pike' displaying stunning Fall colors (even though the peak had already passed two weeks back)..

We drove through downtown Springfield, MA. The sun was shining brightly and it made for a nice picture. The ones in the picture are the only tall structures in this town..

As we neared the State park we were treated to a spectacular view of the 'Pontoosuc lake'. The Fall folliage reflecting on the calm and serene water surface was a treat to watch.
