Other timbres, including occasional saxophone, sneak into the flow to contribute harmony and melody. It's the "flow" that makes this music work. If I were to attempt to categorize, The Skeletons are the lazy river of the experimental rock waterpark. Awkward word phrases in repetition are the perfect complement to this music, as any other style of voice accompaniment outside of oohs and ahhs would seem out of place for this background music. There isn't (and needn't be) much sense of direction, as the steady rhythm and flow creates the environment for your mind to wander. It's good for snoozing or studying. There is little reason to differentiate between songs, as they are probably best taken together to maximize the flowing effect. The final track, "i ran circles around death and tripped", is a wordless piece of great duration, and while it may initially seem uninteresting, you may realize that it is soothing after you have forgotten that it is playing. This song seems to provide windows to what makes this entire album work.
