* The first collaborations between Reggaeton Artists & American Rappers did not take place in the 2000's as many believe. In fact,it took place in 1998 on an album entitled "Boricua Guerrero". The album featured NOT 1 but many collaborations including a collaboration by Daddy Yankee & Nas and many more. * The first Reggaeton Song to receive AirPlay on National Television was "Yo Soy La 40" by Baby Rasta y Gringo & Miguel Play from 1997's DJ Nelson - The Flow. The song was used on WWF (World Wrestling Federation) Programming as a theme song for Puerto Rican wrestler - Savio Vega and his group - Los Boricuas. * The first Reggaeton Song to crossover and become a hit in America was "Tra,Tra,Tra" by Don Chezina. The next hit to follow in like success would be "Amor Con La Ropa" By Speedy.
* The first Reggaetonero to sell over 200,000 records was Don Chezina who was later followed by Tego Calderon in 2002. |
