~Chapter Four: Bell peppers & Mushrooms~

Jet swept off Fad’s stuff from his work table as he worked at a fevered pace. His leg still hurt a bit, but the blue eyed detective didn’t mind. In the corner of the room, Edward and Ein were playing a game of chess and Spike stood by the window, looking out onto the street below Jet’s office. It had been a long flight from South America but no one seemed to mind the trip. It had been only two days since the red eyes shipment was destroyed. Jet had called Faye and told her that he had her daughter. The woman was delighted and said that she would meet with Jet back at his detective office in the Sangi district of Mars at 5:30pm sharp.

“Hey Jet, it’s almost time. Are you done cleaning up?” Spike asked as he drew himself away from the window.

“Yeah, I’m done. It still hurts, you know.” Jet spoke as he glanced at a picture of he and Fad before tossing it into the box which he had simply labeled ‘Fad’. Spike’s arms wound around Jet’s waist and Spike kissed Jet slowly. Red and brown eyes caught Jet’s blue ones and Spike sighed.

“I know how you feel. But it’ll pass. After the kid goes back to her mom, would you like to become my partner?” Spike asked as his fingers traced slow circles on Jet’s arm, his lips inches from Jet’s ear.

“You mean become a bounty hunter?” Jet asked as a blue eyebrow rose in interest. Spike laughed.

“Yes, and also my lover as well.” Spike whispered, kissing Jet’s lips softly. Jet wrapped his arms around Spike, captivated by the man whom had stolen his heart away.

“Mama’s here!” Ed cheered as someone knocked on the door. Jet drew away from Spike and Jet went to open the door.

“Ed!” Faye shouted as she ran into the room and hugged Edward.

“Faye!” Ed called back enthusiastically as she hugged Faye.

“Thank you so much for bringing her back to me detective. I’m very grateful.” Faye spoke as she handed Jet a receipt which indicated that the money transfer of 2 million wulongs was successfully in Jet’s account. Faye hugged Edward in return, her eyes damp with tears.

“Faye, Spike and Jet are going to get married!” Edward spoke as she picked up Ein and hugged the terrified dog to her chest. Faye looked at Jet who sweatdropped and saw that a green haired man sat in the worn swivel chair and no trace of Jet’s other partner.

“What happened to the other man, Fad?” Faye asked as she studied Spike. Spike looked up and spoke nonchalantly.

“I shot him. He would have killed Ed and Jet.” Spike spoke as he rose from his seat and leaned against Jet’s desk.

“Well, I won’t inquire into what happened. All I care about is Ed’s safety. Now Ed, it’s time to go.” Faye spoke as she grasped Ed’s hand.

“But I don’t want to leave! Jet and Spike are nice and Ein is my friend.” Edward sobbed dramatically. Faye sighed as she looked at Jet warily.

“She’s never this attached to people you know.” Faye spoke as bit her lip.

“Tell you what Ed; Spike and I will come and see you from time to time, okay?” Jet spoke as he ruffled Ed’s wild orange hair. Ed’s eyes grew large and misted over.

“Really?” She asked as she clung to Jet.

“Really.” Jet said with a smile. Ed hugged him and squealed. Dropping to her hands, she walked out of the room, twirling in her unusual style.

“See you later then blues man! Bye Spike! Bye Ein!” Edward called as Faye nodded at Jet and left, shutting the door behind her. Jet sighed.

“I’m glad that’s over. Now, back to my proposition.” Spike spoke as he leaned against Jet’s desk, his hands in his pockets. He looked expectantly at Jet whom was tapping up boxes and sticking stamps on them. Jet looked up, the sun’s last few rays glinting off the metal implant on his eye.

“It’ll take me a couple of weeks to sell this place you know. I can’t just get up and leave.” Jet finally spoke as he carried boxes over to a corner of the room by the forgotten coat rack, stacking boxes one on top the other. Spike craned his neck to get a better look at Jet’s back side. He could see sculpted muscles flexing underneath Jet’s white shirt, its long sleeves folded at the blue eyed man’s elbows.

“You don’t say.” Spike spoke as his eyes lingered. Jet turned around, at the sound of distraction in Spike’s tone.

“Are you staring at me?” Jet asked as he rose to his feet, wincing a bit at the pain of his injury.

“That depends.” Spike spoke with a grin as he pulled his hands out of his pockets. Jet laughed, a light blush staining his cheeks.

“I just feel a little strange anytime you look at me, like you’re trying to see deep into my soul.” Jet spoke as he closed all the curtains in the office and turned on the lights for it was growing darker outside.

“Like that night at the Blue Crow?” Spike spoke as he licked his lips. Just remembering the kiss left his thraot dry at what he could have done to Jet that night. Jet caught Spike’s gesture and smiled.

“There’s a jazz club on Mars, if you would like to go. I can figure out this mess tomorrow.” Jet spoke as he picked up his jacket.

“As long as I get to be with you, I’d love to go. But could we please get some food first? I’m starving.” Spike spoke as his stomach grumbled.

“Sure. We’ll go to my place first and I’ll make something for you.” Jet spoke as he ushered Spike and Ein out of his office, turning off the lights.

“You cook? I might just have to marry you!” Spike said with a laugh. Jet shook his head and laughed.

“I worry about you sometimes, you know?” Jet spoke as they made it to his dark blue car outside the building.

“That’s what Gren says too.” Spike relied as they got into the car and drove off into the dusk.

“Who’s Gren?” Jet asked as he glanced at Spike for a moment.

“A good friend. But don’t tell him that I told you that. He wouldn’t believe it.” Spike responded as he looked out of the car’s window, watching the night lights whizzing by. They made it to Jet’s apartment 20minutes later. Jet was holding his jacket and a box that he had brought from his office as he, Spike and Ein rode the elevator up to the 11th floor.

“It’s nothing fancy. Fad and I used to stay at his apartment since it was nearer our office.” Jet spoke as the elevator doors opened and they walked down a well lit hallway. Jet fished out his keys and opened the door, turning on the lights as he did so. Ein ran in and settled in his basket which was near a small fireplace in the cozy living room. Jet’s home was modest. Light blue walls made the place seem cool and comfortable black chairs sat in the living room. Spike dropped his bag and walked into the kitchen were a small table for two sat in a corner, a picture of a saxophone carved into the wooden table.

“I like the table. Did you make this yourself?” Spike asked as he heard rummaging in other parts of the apartment.

“Made what?” Jet asked as he entered the kitchen, his feet bare. Spike pointed to the table as Jet put on a pink apron. “Yeah, I did that. What’s so funny?” Jet asked as he noticed that Spike was just about to burst out laughing.

“A pink apron?” Spike asked as his laughter escaped from his mouth, his eyes lit in amusement. Jet huffed indignantly.

“Keep laughing and you’ll get no dinner.” He replied gruffly as he lit the stove on fire. Spike got up from the table and kissed Jet, his fingers tracing the outline of Jet’s beard.

“I wouldn’t want you any other way.” Spike spoke softly. Patting Jet lightly on the rump, he walked out of the kitchen and set about exploring Jet’s apartment. Jet’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. What exactly did he mean by that? Jet shook the thought from his mind and threw a quick meal together. After ten minutes, he had two plates on the table, both steaming with white rice, and a sauce composed of shredded beef with bell peppers and mushrooms. Jet carried a bowl filled with dog food and took it into the living room and set it down beside Ein.

“Hey Ein, dinner’s ready.” Jet spoke as he ruffled the dog’s fur. Sleepy brown eyes opened and Ein sniffed the food and dug into the food with relish. Jet smiled and stood up, wincing. He touched his leg and found that his injury had bled a little bit.

“You shouldn’t over exert yourself like that.” Spike’s voice spoke, very close to Jet.

“Damn it. Don’t sneak up on me like that. Food’s ready.” Jet spoke as he turned to face Spike who was wearing nothing more than a pair of blue slacks. Jet found himself staring unwittingly at the planes of Spike’s exposed chest which was slightly muscled and pale in complexion.

“Like what you see?” Spike spoke as he twined his fingers with Jet.

“Umm…dinner’s on the table.” Jet spoke as he walked to his bedroom, averting his eyes from Spike. He was sure that the green haired man was tempting him. He just wasn’t sure if he wanted a physical relationship after all that he had just gone through with Fad. Spike watched as Jet walked to his bedroom, confusion written in his eyes. He was sure that Jet wanted him, but yet the man wasn’t responding to any of his sexual advances. I’d better talk to him now. Spike mused as he followed Jet, but first making a detour to the kitchen.

Jet threw off all his clothes save his boxers. He unwound his bandages and threw them away. Cleaning his wound with a strong antiseptic, he bandaged his leg and lay on his bed for a moment, to let the stinging sensation subside.

“I could have helped you with that you know.” Spike spoke as he pushed Jet’s door, open, carrying both their plates of food. He handed one to Jet and sat on the opposite side of the bed which was draped in cool blue silk sheets.

“Thanks. Sorry about the moment in the living room. I just have a lot on my mind.” Jet spoke as he ate his food, glad to finally have food in his stomach. Spike did the same, talking as he ate.

“Don’t worry about it. I just like teasing you. Besides, this food is great.” Spike spoke as he ate a bit nosily.

“You shouldn’t talk while eating.” Jet spoke as he put another forkful of food into his mouth.

“You’re doing the same thing.” Spike spoke as he pointed at Jet. They looked at one another and laughed heartily. After finishing dinner, Jet put the dishes away and Spike remained in Jet’s bedroom, staring out of the window. All he could see was the city around him and further on the red plains of Mars. Spike thought back to the time when he had his accident and had to fix his eye. He shuddered at the memory. Sometimes, he felt stuck in time forever, never able to see the future. But when Jet showed up, it was as if the future was finally revealed to him the moment he kissed Jet back in the dark cellar of the Blue Crow. A warm hand settled on Spike’s shoulder and the green haired man turned to face Jet.

“Are you okay? You sort of looked lost in thought.” Jet spoke softly. Spike smiled.

“I was just thinking…about the future. I’ve never been able to see it.” Spike spoke as he leaned into Jet, the blue eyed man wrapping his arms around Spike’s lithe body. “But, being with you, it seems that I *do* have a chance at seeing the future again.” Spike spoke as he seized Jet’s lips in a kiss, gently pushing the older man back to his bed. They landed on the bed, Spike still secure in Jet’s arms as they continued kissing as if they had all the time in the world. Spike felt Jet’s body under his, warm and strong to his touch. His hands slid down the muscles of Jet’s arms, his legs spreading Jet’s legs apart as his tongue dove deeper into Jet’s mouth, both hungry for each others taste. Jet moaned softly as his hands grasped Spike’s back tightly, feeling the muscles in Spike’s back melt at his touch. Spike moaned gruffly into Jet’s ear as he began to thrust his erection into Jet’s, both their bodies trying to be as close as humanly possible. Jet moaned as Spike’s lips left his own bruised, the green haired man biting into Jet’s neck, hard enough to leave marks but not enough to break skin.

“Spike.” Jet moaned hazily as he sought Spike’s lips again, catching an earlobe which he suckled tenderly. His dream of Spike came rushing back to him as he felt Spike’s thrusts against his uninjured thigh, the green haired man’s hands working off Jet’s boxers.

“Jet, we can stop if you want.” Spike spoke through a haze of his desire as he looked into Jet’s eyes.

“I…I don’t want us to. You promised…to make me forget about Fad. Please…show me that someone can care about me without using me.” Jet spoke softly. Spike smiled tenderly. Those blue eyes were filled only with love for him, filled with love that Spike had never dreamed that he would ever encounter.

“I promised and I’ll do it.” Spike spoke as he attacked Jet’s lips again, this time more fiercely than before. Jet responded with equal ardor. He had given his heart to Spike, he trusted him. Their hands were everywhere now. Fingers latching unto nipples and twisting them, lips licking every exposed surface of skin and bodies sliding against one another in exquisite friction. Jet sighed as his hands finally found the waist band of Spike’s pants. He wanted to feel Spike skin to skin, unhampered by any barriers. Spike pulled off Jet’s boxers and slipped out of his pants. Both men moaned at the contact their erections made as they were finally revealed to one another. Jet grasped Spike’s erection in his hands and pumped Spike in gentle strokes, the man above him leaning into his touch. Jet rolled them over so that he was on top of Spike. His lips tracked a wet trail up Spike’s thigh and Spike’s eyes shut tightly as Jet took his erection into his mouth. His fingers twisted their way in Jet’s hair as the older man sucked him with even strokes, his beard tickling Spike’s inner thighs as his head bobbed back and forth, Spike thrusting into Jet’s mouth to get more of the wet hot feeling of Jet’s mouth. “Jet!” Spike moaned loudly as the blue haired man did not cease in his ministrations. He was intent on making Spike come as hard as he could possibly come and judging by Spike’s cries, he was thus far successful. Spike moaned again. All his thoughts focused on Jet’s mouth and how good he was making him feel. He felt all the blood rushing to his loins, his head thrown back in passion as he surrendered to the burning need within him. Jet deep throated him and Spike came with a growl, his fingers holding on tightly to Jet’s head as he emptied himself into Jet’s waiting mouth. Jet drank Spike’s essence, relishing the taste of his lover. He let go of Spike’s organ as Spike’s hold on his head slackened. Jet sat back on his haunches, watching Spike relax; his toes uncurl from their tightly clenched position.

“Hey, are you okay?” Jet asked as he lay next to Spike, holding the lithe man against his chest.

“Am I okay? I’m better than okay.” Spike spoke as he grasped Jet’s erection in his hand stroking Jet to completion. Jet moaned softly as he thrust into the tight channel formed by Spike’s hand. Spike could feel his own body grow hard again as he felt Jet move against him, his breath hot and heavy in Spike’s ear. Jet came with a muffled cry as he buried his head in the crook of Spike’s neck as he came, pulsing within Spike’s hand. Spike drew his fingers to his lips and licked them clean; savouring the taste of Jet’s cum on his lips. He kissed Jet deeply, as he straddled the blue eyed man, his hands still stroking Jet, bringing his organ back to life.

“Ahh Spike.” Jet moaned as he opened his eyes, looking up into Spike’s eyes.

“Say my name again Jet.” Spike asked as he licked his fingers again, wetting them with his saliva.

“Spike.” Jet spoke again, his eyes never leaving Spike’s as two fingers nudged into Jet’s opening. Jet arched into Spike’s touch, his body begging for something that he had craved for so long. “Oh gods.” Jet moaned as Spike retracted his fingers and began to stroke Jet with three fingers.

“I’ve always dreamed of this Jet…do you want it?” Spike asked, the only uncertainty that he had entertained surfacing in his mind.

“Gods yes. I’ve always wanted you to.” Jet replied as he opened his blue eyes, giving Spike such a smile full of warmth and love that Spike could not help but kiss him. He felt Jet’s erection trapped between their bodies, rubbing against their bodies.

“We’ll need lube.” Spike spoke as he drew his lips away from Jet’s. Jet shook his head.

“Just do it. I can’t wait any longer. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. How do you want me?” Jet asked, his deep voice sending shivers down Spike’s spine just at the thought of having this stronger man trust in him completely.

“This is fine. I want to see you when we cum together.” Spike whispered. Jet nodded, their fingers wrapped tightly together. Spike guided his length into Jet’s body and Jet arched off the bed, his sweaty locks obscuring his sight as he felt Spike’s forehead connect with his. “Oh gods…” Spike moaned as his body stilled. Jet’s body was an absolute rapture. Hot velvet walls surrounded Spike’s length as he dared not pull out of Jet’s body.

“Spike,” Jet gritted out, “move.” he finished, moaning softly as Spike experimentally gave a thrust, both men groaning at their shared pleasure. Jet felt his body accommodating Spike. He felt elated. He had never been so completed in his life.

“So…tight” Spike whispered harshly as he began to pound into Jet, their lips meeting for frenzied kisses, the air heavy around them, sweat glistening from their bodies as they moved as if in divine rhythm. They were closer than either of them could possibly imagine. Spike thrust harder into Jet, angling his thrusts so that he hit Jet’s prostrate. Spike grasped Jet’s erection and began to pump in time to his pistoning hips. He wanted to share his completion with Jet. Jet cried out as his body exploding in a shower of glowing lights as he reached his peak.

“Spike…I’m…” Jet managed to gasp out as pleasure coursed through his veins as he thrust his body upwards to meet Spike’s downward thrust. At that contact, both men cried loudly, their passion overflowing as they came together; Spike buried deep within Jet, those walls holding him so tightly and Jet bathing in the feeling of Spike emptying himself into him for an eternity. Jet’s cum splattered their sweat slicked stomachs and Spike collapsed unto Jet, breathing harshly as he released Jet’s fingers from the punishing hold that he had held them in. Spike slowly pulled himself out of Jet and Jet drew Spike close to him so that heir chests were touching, both men trying to bring their breathing back under control.

“I love you.” Spike spoke after a moment, his eyes watching Jet’s eyes. Jet smiled, cuddling Spike against his chest.

“And I love you too Spike.” Jet replied as kissed Spike. With both their bodies spent, the two men pulled the sheets over themselves to keep warm and held each other in a tight embrace. Jet fell asleep first, his even breathing a soothing lullaby for Spike who thought back to Jet’s partner, Fad. He knew that he hadn’t killed the man when he shot him on the ship, but he hadn’t stuck around to see what had become of him. It doesn’t matter whether he’s dead or alive. He and Jet are no longer together. Jet is mine now and nothing will change that.Spike’s mind spoke fiercely. Spike finally drifted off to sleep, leaving one last kiss to Jet’s lips as he fell asleep. Unbeknownst to him, his past was about to prove him wrong once again.

~End of chapter four~

Takeo – Finally, another chapter. And I actually used a dish that Jet cooked on the show, yay!
