Chapter Two: That Time of Year
Shuu sighed as he pulled the dishes out of the rather large dishwasher owned by his uncle’s restaurant and began to inspect the dishes for any signs of dirt or scratches. Once satisfied, he piled the dishes into their respective shelves, humming a tune as he did so. It had been almost eight months since Shuu had seen any of his friends and he shrugged at the thought. He had called, but the only people he managed to talk to were Shin and Ryo. Apparently, the Mashos had left and moved into their own place in Tokyo while the remaining Troopers remained at the mansion which they had called home for years.
“Hey Shuu, closing time!” Shuu’s uncle called as he walked into the kitchen.
“I’m almost done uncle.” Shuu called back as he out away the last stack of dishes.
“Oh, your mother called. She said that Eris called and said that he’d meet you around the corner once you were done with work.” His uncle yelled from the front of the restaurant as Shuu threw off his apron. He blushed at the mention of his boyfriend of 4 months.
“Thanks. Well, I’m done. See you tomorrow.” Shuu called as he put on his coat and walked outside, his shoes crunching in the snow. Shuu walked purposefully down the block, light snow falling from the dark sky. As he rounded the corner he gazed at the person leaning against the wall.
“Hi Shuu.” The boy whispered as he hugged Shuu, their lips meeting with a smooth mesh. Shuu sighed softly as he kissed his boyfriend, his hands threading through his long black hair.
“Hmm...nice to see you too Eris. How long have you been out here?” Shuu asked as the couple drew apart and walked to were Shuu had parked his blue van.
“Fifteen minutes.” Eris replied as his dark red eyes regarded Shuu’s profile.
“I keep telling you that you can wait in the restaurant where it’s warm. My uncle doesn’t mind.” Shuu said as they reached his van, Shuu opening Eris’s door for him and shutting it before he walked over to the drivers side that Eris had opened for him.
“I know love, but your uncle is always asking too many questions, especially about working for the restaurant which I’m not too keen on.” Eris replied with a laugh as Shuu started up the van.
“Where are we off to?” Shuu asked as he stepped on the gas, the van rolling on its merry way.
“Laekin is having a Christmas party tonight. Just a few guests, and we’re invited.” Eris said.
“Oh yeah, I remember. Her present’s in the back somewhere.” Shuu said as he drove towards Laekin’s house, mindful of the snowy road.
“And what about *my* present?” Eris asked with an impish grin.
“You’ll find out Christmas day.” Shuu replied with equally playfulness. They arrived at the party ten minutes laughter and took walked down the snow shoveled driveway. Eris knocked on the door and a tall girl answered it, her long blue hair, obscuring the view of her expressive magenta eyes.
“Eris! Shuu! Glad you could make it. Come in, it’s freezing out there!” Laekin spoke excitedly as she ushered her friends in. Five other people were in the ouse and greeted the new guests. Eris and Shuu settled down and handed Eris her present, earning a hug from the young woman. Eggnog was passed out and then hot chocolate admist joke telling and games. Eris snuggled warmly next to Shuu, enjoying the warmth that radiating off his love. Eris could sense that there was something special about his lover, like some sort of great power but he couldn’t place his finger on it. Anytime I kiss Shuu...Eris sighed. His boyfriend was strong, kind and too bishounen for his own good. Eris giggled and kissed Shuu, nibbling his lip a bit. Shuu blushed but responded to Eris’s lips, losing himself in the softness of his love’s lips.
“I think we should get some sleep. Everyone brought their sleepover stuff right?” Laekin asked as her girlfriend winked suggestively across the room at her.
“Yes!” the sleepy giddy guest chorused in reply as they got to their feet.
“Goodnight Lae-chan.” Eris called as he hugged his friend.
“Nite Eris. Nite Shuu.” Laekin replied as the couples and singles went to their respective rooms. Shuu landed on the bed with oomph! as he laughed heartily.
“That was a nice party.” Shuu said with a smile as he sat up.
“Yes it was. I have a Christmas present to give you.” Eris said with a secret smile as he turned off the lights in the room. The room was lit by the eerie glow from the moon which was shrouded by the passing snow clouds. Eris’s dark eyes meet Shuu’s cobalt gaze.
“Isn’t it kind of early?” Shuu asked as Eris slipped out of his clothes and stood naked before Shuu, his long black hair sweeping gently and resting behind the middle of his back.
“It doesn’t matter. I love you Shuu. I want us to take the next step in our relationship.” Eis whispered as he sat on the bed and undressed Shuu, marveling at the darkness of Shuu’s skin and the way his muscles looked sculpted by some god. Shuu blushed as Eris leaned into him, their bodies touching for the very first time.
“You love me?” Shuu asked as Eris’s pale form melded against his.
“Yes. It doesn’t matter if you can’t say it back Shu-chan.” Eris whispered as he kissed Shuu, both youths falling back into the soft bed. Shuu pulled away from Eris, his blue eyes lost in the crimson ones that stared back at him.
“No...It’s not that...no one has ever loved me before.” Shuu spoke. Eris looked at Shuu in disbelief.
“Well, they don’t know what they’re missing. So, are you going to devour me?” Eris asked as his lithe form rested comfortably in Shuu’s embrace, an earthly scent filling his senses as he nibbled on Shuu’s ear.
“Anything you want.” Shuu replied with a smile as he pushed Eris under him, resting his body carefully on top of Eris. He looks so fragile, and so wanton. I have to be careful, I could easily hurt him. Shuu mused as he kissed his love hungrily, nibbling at his neck with practiced ease. Eris giggled softly as Shuu’s hands wnet lower, his lips following in their path. He tweaked his lover’s nipples gently, Eris moaning softly and those moans heightened when Shuu’s lips replaced his fingers, the hot wet feel of Shuu’s mouth taking its toll on Eris.
“Shuu...”Eris moaned as Shuu’s hands brushed against his inner thighs, Shuu’s lips licking their way and taking Eris’s manhood into his mouth. Eris shivered as he opened his crimson eyes and shut them again as his body sung with pleasure. “Suck harder...yes, like that.” Eris whimpered as Shuu’s mouth molded Eris into a puddle of nerves. “No more.” Shuu whimpered softly as he opened cobalt eyes that smoldered with longing. Eris smiled. He reached for his discarded jeans on the floor and pulled out a pink vial. He broke it and the scent of strawberries filled Shuu’s senses. Eris rubbed the strawberry scented lotion all over Shuu’s manhood, clearly impressed by Shuu’s size. He then parted his legs and found the dark puckered ring. He poured the rest of the oil into Shuu’s hands and Shuu began to stretch Eris, his fingers deftly relaxing Eris’s muscles, and stroking him from within. The dark haired youth moaning softly as the intruder got past his defenses.
“Please, take me now. I’ve waited so long.” Eris whispered heatedly as he wound his legs around Shuu’s waist. Shuu nodded and slowly eased himself into Eris, inch by inch, the dark haired youth feeling pierced to his very core. “Gods.” Shu whispered as he began to move, the heat of his lover embracing him like a long awaited guest. The two boys moved in a frenzied rhythm, their breaths ragged to their hearing. Eris cried out Shuu’s name as he came, the deep rolling thruss throwing him over the edge. Shuu buried his head into the nape of Eris’s neck as he came a moment later, his essence filling Eris, the dark haired youth moaning in ecstasy. Shuu pulled out of Eris and got to his feet. He went into the bathroom that adjoined their room and came back with a warm wash cloth. He cleaned Eris and then himself and then discarded the cloth. He came back to bed and settled beside his lover, enfolding him in his strong embrace.
“Wo ai ni Xiu.” Eris whispered in Chinese as their heart beats returned to normal. Shuu smiled as he kissed Eris.
“Love you too Eri-chan.” He replied as Eris rested his head against his strong chest and dozed off. Shuu followed shortly, in the back of his mind thoughts of the yoroi flashed across his vision.

“Hey this is Shuu, I’m not home right now, please leave a message after the beep. Cut it out Mei! Beep!” Shuu’s voice hollered as his answering machine message reached its end. Seiji clutched his phone in a white knuckled grip, as he bit his lip. It had slipped the Troopers mind to invite Shuu to spend the Christmas week with them since everyone had been busy visiting their families and so on.
Seiji left a message and then dropped the phone. The blond paced around his dojo warily. After Shuu had left, he had drawn inside himself. He couldn’t shake Rajura’s little speech when Shuu had left. He could be right. Shuu needed to be away from us, away from me. Seiji bit his lip as he grabbed his bags and waved goodbye to his sisters. I want to see you again Shuu. Halo’s bearer mused as his violet eyes watched the passing scenery as the taxi bustled him to the train station.

“Shuu, your answering machine’s blinking.” Eris called the next morning as he and Shuu returned from Laekin’s party.
“Play it for me will you?” Shuu asked as he pulled on a black t-shirt, his bandana hanging out of his pocket. Eris hit the button and Seiji’s voice came on, cool and distant as ever.
“Shuu, it’s me Seiji. The others and I wanted to invite you to our Christmas party. This is the only week this time of year that any of us have free. We look forward to seeing you.” Seiji’s voice said. Shuu froze, his cobalt eyes wide in disbelief.
“Who was that?” Eris asked as he stepped towards Shuu and helped tie his lover’s bandana around his head.
“A friend of mine. We go way back. We always have a get together every Christmas even though we don’t all celebrate it. Would you like to come along? I’m sure that they would love to meet you.” Shuu said as he kissed Eris’s nose. Eris smiled.
“Of course I’ll join you. I just have to let my mom know that we won’t be back for a couple of days. I’ll meet you this afternoon okay?” Eris said as he kissed Shuu again Shuu smiled and blushed as Eris pulled away from him.
“Sure. My mom will drive us to the train station. Be packed and ready, okay?” Shuu said as he felt Eris’ pinch his bum. “Owwh.” Shuu mumbled as Eris grinned wickedly.
“Okay. Bye.” Eris said as he left. Shuu smiled as he began to pack. It’s odd that *Seiji* of all people would call, but at least I get to see the guys again. Shuu thought as he went to explain to his mother his reason for leaving. At about 3:00pm in the afternoon, Shuu and Eris were on their way.

“Seiji!” Shin called as he hugged the blond trooper, his sea blue eyes crinkled with excitement.
“Hello Shin. Good to see you again.” Seiji replied.
“Still the Ice-man eh? Did you reach Shuu?” Touma asked as he came up from the basement. Seiji fixed his violet gaze on Touma whom laughed.
“I left him a message. He might come if he feels like it.” Seiji replied as he walked up the stairs, carrying his bags.
“Why’s he so moody?” Touma asked as Seiji’s golden head disappeared up the stairs.
“Anytime Shuu’s name is mentioned, he gets really strange. He’ll talk to us about it soon enough. And I’m sure that Shuu will come.” Shin said as he went into the kitchen to fix dinner for the newly arrived guest.
“Is Seiji here yet?” Ryo asked as he came in, White Blaze following closely behind him, shaking the snow out of his hair. Shin kissed Ryo and laughed.
“He’s upstairs. Maybe you can warm him up Rekka.” Shin said with a grin as Ryo hung up his jacket and went to seduce the silent blond.
“Just hope that Seiji doesn’t bruise him like last time.” Touma said with a tired yawn as he walked into the living room and plopped on the couch.
“Well Nasuti’s sleeping, so they can’t be loud.” Shin said as he set his stew and left it to simmer and snuggled next to Touma for warmth. As Touma’s eight o’clock movie came on, there was a knock at the door. White Blaze was at the door as Shin opened the door and squealed.
“Shuu!” he yelled as he hugged his friend, drinking in Shuu’s earthly scent.
“Hi Shin. How are you? Hey White Blaze!” Shuu called as he dropped to his knees and hugged the huge tiger. Shin noticed the boy that stood beside Shuu, his crimson eyes watching Shin and his long black hair matted with snow down his back.
“I’m Eris.” Eris spoke as Shuu rose to his feet and ushered them in. Touma, Ryo and Seiji met Shuu and Eris standing in the living room area.
“Hi guys!” Shuu said sheepishly as Eris stood by his side. White Blaze licked Eris’s hand and settled at his feet.
“That’s a *tiger* Shu-chan.” Eris whispered a bit nervously.
“I forgot to mention White Blaze. He’s harmless.” Shuu said as he put his arm around Eris’s waist.
“Who’s your friend Shuu?” Touma asked as he brushed his blue bangs out of his eyes.
“This is Eris, my boyfriend.” Shuu said with a blush. Three sets of eyes widened and Touma broke out in laughter. From the look that Seiji gave him, Shuu knew that inviting Eris was not the wisest thing to do. And from the searing look that Eris fixed on the Troopers, especially Seiji, Shuu knew that he had quite a bit of explaining to do.
