Takeo – Well my pretties, it’s part three of Desert Rose!
WuFei – She could have written this last night but the computer decided to pick a fight with her. In retaliation she deleted all her stories from her page just because she hated the format.
Takeo – Do you have any idea how long it took? Two separate computers, just for the sake of spelling and words that I didn’t put in. I should have some retribution, some kind of payback for my pain. The payback was maintaining this fic’s idea in my mind, so I guess everything’s peachy since it’s all in the correct format. Now onward!
WuFei – Warnings and Disclaimers. Takeo doesn’t own GW, and that doesn’t make her happy. However, I make her happy, so that isn’t a total loss.
Takeo – Stick to the script!
WuFei - *eeps * Sorry about that. There’s angst, isn’t that a given?
Takeo - *getting angry really fast. * WuFei!!
WuFei – Sorry! There’s shounen ai, darn, no lemon yet.
Takeo – Good grief, thought you wouldn’t finish talking, Duo mania.
WuFei – I don’t talk enough, talking too much is Duo’s forte.
Takeo -* smiles * Who’s angry now? *Fic writer chugs down her mango drink and grins. * Ah, refreshing now, where was I? Oh, yeah, the fic

Desert Rose three: Amethyst Literature.

Duo kept looking out the window as the shuttle departed from L4. He couldn’t believe that WuFei was gone when Quatre told him. He had searched the entire palace in under an hour and finally accepted that WuFei was gone forever. Curse that sleep, if I had been awake, I would have been able to tell him that I loved him. Duo thought as he nervously unbraided his hair and braided it back again. It had taken him a month to pinpoint WuFei’s location, a shop in Asion, the place that Duo grew up in when he was on L2. He would have probably gone to L5 if it wasn’t destroyed… Duo reasoned as he tried to settle down, his heart drumming loudly in his ears.

"Can’t sleep, don’t want to lose WuFei again." Duo chanted to himself, looking out the window to see colonies fly past, set against the backdrop of space and its stars.

WuFei put his new shipment of books on their shelves as he patrolled his quaint library. After leaving L4, he had headed for L2. The colony was full of shops and business that flourished. WuFei had opened a book store and sold both new and old classicals such as works by Homer, Edgar Allan Poe, and many other authors and authoress, poets. At the front desk WuFei sat, sipping his newly prepared tea. He couldn’t stand coffee, never knew why he didn’t, but drinking tea reminded him of his childhood, and of Duo… WuFei shook his head. You left Duo back on L4, he wouldn’t come after you, after all, you were friends… WuFei smiled faintly. I miss him, even though he talks so much. WuFei shook his head again and put away his tea as a woman came up with her purchases.

Duo walked hurriedly down the street. Why didn’t I hack a bit more and find out the exact store that Fei owns? Duo asked as his eyes scanned the streets. He forced himself to relax. Got to think like WuFei. If I was a sexy Chinese boy with an equally sexy guy after him, and I owned a store, and I love reading, what would my shop look like? Duo eyes renewed their search and his eyes landed on a store door that was being held open. The shape of a dragon wound its way around a book, its eyes glinting dangerously. A woman walked out of the store, smiling and waving to the person holding the door for her. The person waved back and went in, but not before Duo spied a sleek ponytail darting in.

"WuFei!" Duo shouted too late. The door was shut and Duo ran up to it. " Amethyst Literature" Duo read, tracing fingers over the elegantly cursive writing. Duo outside the door for a while, just standing. He had made it, he had found WuFei, what would he say?

WuFei for his part could see someone outside the door, their stance showing that they were unsure if they wanted to enter

"You’ll have to choose to enter or not, make the right decision for yourself." WuFei said as went into his private room to pour himself some more tea. Duo stepped into the store. He didn’t see WuFei anywhere.

"Hello? Anyone home?" Duo called as he walked towards a door at the back of the shop. WuFei stepped out, clutching his tea in one hand, and a book in the other.

"WuFei?" Duo asked, praying to every God that WuFei remembered him. WuFei promptly dropped both his cup and book. Duo caught the cup before it fell to the ground. WuFei’s eyes locked with Duo’s, but quickly looked away.

" Konichi wa Duo." WuFei said as he smiled and took the cup from Duo, fingers brushing against one another.

" All you can say is hello? Man Wu, here I am, after spending a month at Quatre’s just to find you and here I am after telling myself that you wouldn’t remember me, but I digress. You’re smart, a month isn’t a long time, just 30days," Duo rambled on, his eyes still fixed on WuFei.

"Duo, it’s nice to see you too." WuFei said with a smile as he held out his hand. Duo smiled sadly. Me and my big mouth. I said we were friends, I drew that line, but I crossed over it the day I met you. Might as well go for it, what have I got to lose?

Duo grabbed WuFei in his arms fiercely and hugged WuFei tight, as if he was going to disappear. WuFei decided against struggling in Duo’s arms and hung his arms loosely around his friend’s waist. Duo still wore that priest outfit, and he smelled the same, charming, comfortable, crazy Duo. Duo buried his nose into WuFei’s now loose hair. I’ve never held you so close before, you’re beautiful, now if I can hold out a little longer, and not kiss you, and not make love to you, and not give myself away, and not stop thinking about you, I’ll be a fool to do so.

WuFei pulled away from Duo, a smile etching those slender lips.

"I missed you so much, why didn’t you say goodbye at least?" Duo asked as he and WuFei headed back to the front desk.

" I needed to get away, to think about what I wanted." WuFei replied as he sat in his chair and sipped his tea, dark lashes hiding back tears.

"Oh. Wu-kun, do you mind if I stay for a while? I need to decide my future, you don’t mind do you?" Duo asked, violet eyes watching for the answer, one that could possibly save his heart from dying.

"Hai. You can stay. I understand the importance of one’s decisions. Seeing as you came here without too much thought, you can stay with me for a while." WuFei said as pulled out a pair of keys from his pocket. He handed them to Duo.

"What’s this?" Duo asked, raking a hand through his bangs.

" Keys to the door of my house. It’s in the middle of the forest, the only one there but it’s not a long walk." WuFei said as an amused smile traced his lips. Duo smiled cheekily.

"All right Fei, I’ll see you when you get home, and don’t go anywhere." Duo said. He reached across the counter and planted an innocent kiss on WuFei’s cheek. He resisted the urge to bit into the smooth caramel cheek. " Sayonara Wu-baby!" Duo called as he headed out the door, turning one last time to smile at WuFei. WuFei blushed.

" It’s nice to see you Duo…"he said as his fingers brushed against the spot that Duo kissed. With a lighter mood, WuFei went about his work, his thoughts centered on laughing amethyst eyes.
