Chapter Four : Crossing Roads.

WuFei sat an hour later in a local cafe, sipping a cup of tea. His head was pounding from a headache that had just started and it wasn't helping him much. How the hell do I look for demons and angels when I haven't a clue to their whereabouts? WuFei tucked the question away in his mind. Right now, he needed a place to sleep for a while. Shenlong would be safe and hopefully, no one would discover it since it was in such a remote area. WuFei sighed. A television came on and a grim reporter adjusted the papers on his desk.

"Good evening, this is the 7 o'clock news. At the stroke of noon today, something like an earthquake rocked the colony of L2. Many claimed to have seen a dark shadow depart from the colony. Also at 6 o'clock this evening, the L5 cluster was destroyed, the cause is yet to be determined. And on Earth and on the colonies, many have claimed to have seen winged people with daemon wings and people with angel wings. This is also under investigation by the police. An hour later, two separate meteors struck the Earth, but no one knows where. They have been more reports on the disturbances so the people are resting tonight. The Alliance has no comment on these issues, but four doctors from the remaining four colonies have said that this is only the beginning. We shall bring you more on these issues. Thank you." The reporter said. WuFei looked into his cup. Those doctors, who are they?

The stool next to WuFei creaked. WuFei looked to see who it was but immediately dropped his eyes back to his cup. The boy beside him smiled.

"Hey, do you believe these people?" the boy said, laughter in his voice. WuFei felt anger boil in his blood. This boy had the guts to laugh in the sight of grave danger.

"And what makes you think that he's lying, that is, if that's what you're implying?" WuFei asked as he looked at the boy. The boy's smile widened. WuFei took in the priest's outfit that the boy wore and the long chestnut braid that was his crowning glory. Violet eyes twinkled at WuFei and he turned away as he blushed.

"I'm Duo Maxwell. You seem pretty wound up about all this." Duo said as he flipped his braid over his shoulder so that it rested on his back.

"I'm concerned, that's all." WuFei said as he put his money on the table, bowed to the cafe owner, grabbed his bag and departed. Duo let his eyes skim over the beautiful figure of the boy clad in jeans as he left. He had never in all his centuries had he seen such a beautiful and graceful creature. The daemon laughed. I really need to stop thinking like this. And yet, he was stirred so he followed the boy silently, wanting to learn all he could about the beautiful stranger.

WuFei walked down the street, making his way to a bike shop. He had enough money to buy one. He knew that he couldn't go anywhere with hitchhicking. People would start to ask questions and he didn't want that. But, where will I go? WuFei bowed his head and felt as if he wasn't alone. He looked around and found no one there. He followed his instincts and walked as if he hadn't noticed anything and he headed into the night to a moonlit park. He suddenly turned around, drawing his sword and pointed to the person behind him.

"You." He hissed as he noticed the boy from the bar. Duo grinned.

"Most people usually don't here me coming." Duo said with a smirk as he circled WuFei, causing an uneasy feeling in the smaller boy as he noticed the predatory look in Duo's eyes.

"What do you want?" WuFei asked as he held his sword to Duo's neck, eyes slanted. Duo could have sworn that he was drawn into those beautiful chocolate depths.

"You're pretty, beautiful, your mother loved you well." Duo said as he ignored the sword pointed at his neck.

"My mother, she has nothing to do with this. Who the hell are you?" WuFei asked.

"I'm Duo Maxwell, always running and hiding but never lying." Duo said with a bow. WuFei's eyes shot up.

"Look, I don't know what I might have done to offend you but I want nothing to do with what you're plotting. I've had a very bad day." WuFei said as he put his sword away and turned to leave.

"Wait, you haven't told me your name." Duo asked as he rested his hand on WuFei's. What seemed like a light spark on WuFei's arm was a rush of blood and shock through Duo's system. It was the same presence that he had sensed earlier on in the evening, and it was so strong now. He had also seen a moment of sadness in the boy's velvet depths. They warned Duo to stay away, far away.

"You don't need to know my name. I'm just passing through and I will merely be a figment of your imagination." WuFei said in a pained voice as he removed Duo's hand from his. They both looked up as another boy came running towards them.

"Get away from him!" the boy shouted as white light shot from his shoulders, white large wings bursting from his back. His clothes changed, a top and a shirt secured by a sash and white pants. Cobalt eyes flashed as a sword formed in his hands. Duo merely smiled and transformed into his own attire, black and purple top and pants, daemon wings exposed to the night. He wrapped his arms around WuFei's waist and lifted him effortlessly off the ground.

"Silentum." Shingami spat out, his own weapon appeared, a beautiful scythe. WuFei blinked at the mention of the name.

"Silentum?" he asked.

"Don't worry." Shingami whispered, his low husky voice rumbled against WuFei's ear.

"Shingami, preying on boys again? Really, I though that your generals saw to your every need." Silentum said with coldness in his voice as he and Shingami floated 30feet above the ground. Shingami clutched his heart.

"Dear Silentum, really, how rude to say such things. As for the beauty in my arms, his merely a traveler, we were conversing on tonight's news. The colony, it was a shame." Shingami said with some regret in his voice.

"How can you say that when you destroyed it?" Silentum shot back.

"He didn't destroy it. They self destructed!" WuFei shouted as he wiggled free from Shingami's grasp. Both angel and demon watched as WuFei landed on the ground without any harm. He glared at both of them and took off. Shingami considered something for a moment and then smiled and let the boy escape. He turned to Silentum.

"Things just got interesting." Shingami said as he took to the sky and disappeared. Silentum went after the boy. He couldn't find him anywhere. He swore under his breath and departed, determined to find out what if the boy had said was true. WuFei came out of his hiding place. Something kept me hidden, what was it? WuFei sat down and tried to calm his nerves. So, he had met the two opposing sides. How does Nataku expect me to fight against them? At least, I know what they look like. WuFei sat silently. There was something about Shingami that had instantly comforted him as the daemon held him close. WuFei mentally slapped himself and blushed. Shingami comments weren't said in a jesting tone. Silentum looked more intrigued than angry when he faced Shingami.

"One thing's for sure. Neither of them is what I would have expected from what I've learned. Shingami is bright and cheerful and seems to love life. Silentum, he's just moody. Different personalities." WuFei said out loud. He put his questions to rest and headed back to his gundam. An hour later since he decided it was safer to walk, he was at Shenlong's feet. He climbed into his gundam and switched the system on. A pair of claws appeared and a man came on.

"Chang, I'm Dr. J. My comrade on L5, he died in L5's noble sacrifice. If you've watched the evening news, you know about us. My three remaining comrades and I built gundams of our own and the pilots and the gundams are all on Earth. There's Heero Yuy and he pilots the Wing Gundam. He's from L1." Dr. J said as a picture of Heero came up. WuFei's eyes widened.

"Silentum!" he exclaimed under his breath. Another doctor came on, his hair around his head like a large umbrella and a long nose.

"My pilot's name is Duo Maxwell, from the L2 colony and he pilots the Deathscythe." The doctor said and a picture of Duo was displayed.

"Shingami?" WuFei exclaimed again. So, both sides have a gundam in their possession. I can fight, there's hope. Another doctor came on.

"I trained Trowa Barton from L3. He pilots the Heavy Arms." The doctor said and a picture of Trowa came up. WuFei nodded.

"And I trained Quatre Raberba Winner of L4 to pilot the Sand Rock." Another doctor said. WuFei nodded. He had heard about Quatre from the news so he knew what he looked like.

"And you, are the pilot of Shenlong from L5. These boys are your comrades and you are all supposed to fight against Oz." Dr. J said as he came on screen again.

"Have you been listening to the news? Something bigger than Oz and the Alliance is going on down here on Earth. I am at a loss of what to do." WuFei said in exasperation at the doctor.

"Very understandable. What we are going to do is give you all a mission so that you can meet. And this is for you to see who is on whose side Chang. And we do know about the daemons and angelus. A note of warning, something, that we can't explain is going to be revealed. The one who will be forced into all this chaos to end it. If he or she appears, you have to protect them." Dr. J said.

"Mission accepted." WuFei said with a nod. Finally, an arrow leading him somewhere important.

 

Shingami swore as he flopped unto his black sheets in his quarters when he returned. There was a knock at his door.

"Come in." he said, his voice muffled by his pillow. Deceptus slipped in and bowed.

"The presence, it's strengthening." Deceptus said.

"I know. I met Silentum at a park. He looked pissed, as usual." Shingami said as he faced Deceptus.

"Any reason why he sensed you?" Deceptus asked as he sat down next to Shingami. Shingami faced Deceptus, light shinning in his eyes. Deceptus noticed this new change in his master.

"Well, I went into a café to see if we made the news, which we did and there was the most beautiful, exotic boy that I've ever seen in all my centuries. He seemed really upset about the whole thing, so I asked. He looked mad but he said nothing but answered me coolly. His voice was a low tenor, all his words rolled off his tongue with ease. He paid for his meal and bowed to the owner of the café and left. He was wearing these jeans and gods above it showed off those beautiful slender legs of his. His hair was black and tied up in a ponytail and that tail swished around his neck as he left. Needless to say, I wanted to know every last thing about him." Shingami said as he clutched his heart. Deceptus looked somewhat distressed and relieved about the news. His master usually captured young boys his age and tortured them in the name of love. Usually, his eyes weren't sparked with happiness but with lust.

"You mean you're in love, for the first time in all your 900 years?" Deceptus asked. Shingami nodded.

"I followed him and we got to a park. All of a sudden, he draws a sword at my neck. Deceptus, no one has ever caught me off guard like that. And in his eyes, I just stared. I thought that they were black but I could see rims of delicious dark chocolate. They looked like they had seen so much sadness and there was unwillingness in his eyes to hurt me so he put his sword back. He never told me his name, he would have, I'm sure but Silentum comes out of no where and charges. I wasn't going to let him hurt my beauty so I changed and I flew into the sky. The moment my arms were locked firmly around his waist, I saw stars, and a shock ran through my body. This is real Dece-kun, I know it. All I can do is think about him." Shingami said as he smiled to himself, picturing the exotic boy again. Deceptus smiled. He always wondered how his master dealt with such matters since all his generals were paired up; he, Crudelis and Illusio, Verrere and Legalis. He was glad.

"That's very good. A mission came in for the gundam pilots. You are to meet with the other gundams. Verrere, Legalis and I will be waiting in the background." Deceptus said with another bow. Shingami smiled.

"If my haunch is right, I believe that I shall finally see who exactly we are up against and the gundams might come in handy." Shingami said as he got off his bed.

"The mission isn't for another week, rest." Deceptus said as he shut the door to Shingami's room. Shingami sat back down and slept. His dreams were filled with nothing more than those exquisite eyes that called him closer. I'll make you mine some how, heavens help me, I will…

 

Silentum calmed down as he read over the message on his gundam.

"Levis-sama, we will be in the shadows waiting." Confusus said as he placed a comforting hand on Levis's shoulder.

"Hai. I need to rest." Levis said as he went to his room. Confusus saw a strange look in their leader's eyes as he retired. He saw something that he doesn't want to forget, what can make that kind of impression?
