| Jolly Roger is a seventh generation fisherman whose family has lived on the Outer Banks for as long as anyone can remember. He met Mandrake's family when they moved to the area from Kentucky, and hired Mandrake's father on as first mate on his fishing boat. A category 5 hurricane swept through one night when Mandrake was seven and swept his parents out to sea. Jolly Roger took the youngster into his house and raised him like his own, teaching him the ways of the sea. Despite having reservations initially about Mandrake's urge to become a professional wrestler, the old sailor has supported him ever since, and although he won't admit it, Jolly Roger actually enjoys the sport now. |
