Dead & Bloated Recap |
[A still frame of the interior of the Atlantic Arena, complete with filled upper deck is shown with pyros shooting off down the aisle.] Harvey Schultz:: "Hello, fans, and welcome to Dead & Bloated!" [Jerry Verboncour is shown delivering the West Point Stunner to Suggs, then the slide switches to the Texan pinning Suggs for the three count.] Harvey Schultz:: "Jerry Verboncour wins! Jerry is the new Television Champion!" [James Nightbane, Machine, William Ian Dillinger, and Tyrone Brown are shown standing in the ring, united as the Brotherhood of the Dark Lights, as Alice Loysell and a Damn Fine Man lay beneath them on the canvas.] James Nightbane:: "McCool, you mess with the Darkness again, and I might just let William Ian mess up your broad's pretty face..." [This slide features Loki running down Steve Zapf with his Lincoln Navigator, then switches to a shot of Plaz flying through the air off the the fire escape, looking to nail Zapf with the Con Air in the dumpster.] Harvey Schultz:: "That was crazy! That was a death-defying leap from the top of that fire escape!" [A still of Nyghtmare swinging his barbed wire Singapore cane at Cormier is shown while the AWA owner stands in the center of the ring. The picture switches to Cormier laying in the center of the ring with a nasty gash in his forehead.] Harvey Schultz:: "Kartier got it! He got all of it! Cormier is busted wide open!" [This photo shows HaZe nailing Mandrake as he's positioned on the ladder. The metal ladder can be seen giving way beneath the impact.] Harvey Schultz:: "Good God Almighty! HaZe just hit the Enlightenment off the top rope and drove Mandrake straight through that ladder! With God as my witness, Mandrake is DEAD!" [A slide of Mandrake soaring through the air with a missile dropkick off the twenty-foot ladder is shown. The photo switches to Mandrake connecting with HaZe, who is dangling from both belts. Then, the picture is replaced by both men landing, Mandrake on the mat and HaZe on the ladder.] J.J. Jackson:: "Holy sh*t!!!" [This picture shows Mandrake and HaZe fighting atop the twenty-foot ladder with four tables stacked below them. Then, it switches to HaZe superplexing Mandrake off the top of the ladder with both men suspended in mid-air as many fans in the audience are now standing. The last frame shows the debris of the four tables with both men prone on the mat amongst the broken tables.] [The audio of the two men busting through the tables, followed by the crowd's immediate deafening reaction can be heard. No commentary can be heard for a long period of time before J.J. Jackson finally chimes in.] J.J. Jackson:: "Them boys is dead..." [A still of Mandrake capturing the belts atop the ladder is shown with many fans in the audience on their feet with fists raised in victory.] J.J. Jackson:: "He did it! Yay-yeah!" [Plaz, Loki, and the debuting Moloch are shown jumping off of ladders positioned in the corners of the ring simultaneously toward Mandrake, who's laying in the center of the ring. The next slide shows the aftermath, with the ring collapsed and a pile of bodies while Regina, Richard, and HaZe look on happily.] Harvey Schultz:: "Sweet Lord! They've crushed him!" [The slide fades away, and the inside of the Salem Civic Center comes into view, filled with 6,820 cheering fans.] |
Introduction |
["We Die Young" by Alice in Chains blares throughout the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia as the sold-out crowd cheers wildly. Pyrotechnics shoot off at the top of the stage as "AWA" fades into view on the Atlantic-Tron. Harvey Schultz and J.J. Jackson walk down the ramp to a big ovation from the crowd. The duo walks around the ring, taking their place at their announcing position.] Harvey Schultz:: The biggest card in AWA history is officially behind us, and judging from tonight's line up, most of them are at home, nursing their injuries. J.J. Jackson:: Hey yeah, dawg. Last night was dope, G! Harvey Schultz:: Mandrake dethroned Heavyweight Champion HaZe in their epic ladder match last night, Jerry Verboncour claimed the Television Title, and the Super Bastardo Bros. retained their belts in a disgusting street fight. J.J. Jackson:: Man, that baby poop was whack! Harvey Schultz:: Earlier today, I took the time to interview both Mandrake and HaZe about their classic battle last night. Both of those will air later on in the show. Tonight, Jerry Verboncour has the privelage of defending his Television Title against William Ian Dillinger. The Atlantic Championship Tournament starts tonight, and Billy Suggs looks to settle his small rivalry with a Damn Fine Man. Folks, let me tell you... |
Revealing the Scheme |
["Painkiller Introduction" by Professional Murder Music starts up and out walks Richard and Regina Cormier, followed by the B.A.B. 3000, Loki, Plaz, and Moloch. The fans negative response is both quick and fierce as the five members of the Brotherhood of the New Lights walk down the ramp and enter the ring. Richard, dressed in a gray suit, pulls a microphone from his inside pocket and hands it to Regina, dressed in black slacks, and a light blue sweater.] Regina Cormier:: Last night, myself, my father, and the rest of us pulled the rug out from under you. We fooled all of you! It was a plan all along, and you bought it hook, line, and sinker! [Regina hands the mic to her father with a smirk on her face while the crowd boos them ruthlessly.] Richard Cormier:: You thought it was the Mandrake that had sold-out, but it was the Bastardos all along! We'd been planning it for weeks! Mandrake's flat tires last week? Thank Moloch! Ha ha ha! We planned every single detail, and it all worked perfectly...except for one thing. Mandrake came out with the Heavyweight Championship. [Hearing this, the crowd goes nuts. The B.A.B. 3000 look around in disgust, but Richard ignores them and continues.] Richard Cormier:: Don't worry, daredevil, you'll be rid of that belt soon enough. Once you're able to compete again after the beating HaZe dished out to you at Dead & Bloated, you'll be losing that belt back to the Chosen Champion in a rematch for the belt. As for right now... [Richard is distracted by Pyro-Maniac, who has now begun walking down the steel ramp towards the ring with a microphone in hand. Pyro rolls into the ring and stands up, looking at each face in the ring before speaking.] Pyro-Maniac:: I don't talk very much, but there are some things that need to be said. A few days ago, you tried to take me and my brother out for good. Well congratulations, Prince of Death isn't gonna be here for quite some time. He's been pissing blood for the past two days. But all I want to know is, why? Richard Cormier:: Why? Ha ha ha! Why?! Because you were holding us back! You were a disease...dead weight! The Brotherhood of the New Lights doesn't need dead weight, so I simply had it cut off! Pyro-Maniac:: You may have taken out P.O.D., but not me. I got back up. I'm still here. You've made your decision, now let's see you enforce it! [Pyro throws the microphone, striking Moloch in the face. Moloch stumbles backwards as the Bastardos are caught by surprise. Pyro-Maniac boots Plaz in the stomach, then nails Loki with a right hook. Pyro DDTs Plaz, then sweeps Loki's legs out from under him, but Moloch clubs Pyro in the back. Pyro stumbles back as Moloch begins unloading on him with big left hands. Pyro-Maniac fights back, but he's soon overtaken by the B.A.B. 3000.] Harvey Schultz:: Pyro-Maniac attempted to take on the Brotherhood of the New Lights, but it's a losing battle. [As the Bastardos and Moloch hold Pyro up, Regina comes in for a free shot. As she brings her leg back for a sure kick to the groin, "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed starts up. Regina freezes in mid-kick as the fans go nuts. Kris Kartier sprints out with a heavily bandaged forehead and his kendo stick in hand. The men in the ring ready themselves as Nyghtmare slides into the ring and starts swinging. Plaz catches a shot to the back, Moloch a shot to the mid-section, and Loki a hit to the groin as the ring clears while the crowd goes insane!] Harvey Schultz:: Nyghtmare is out to make the save! Kartier still has some unfinished business with these folks, namely Richard Cormier. [The Cormiers and the B.A.B. 3000 head to the back with Nyghtmare and Pyro-Maniac standing tall in the ring, begging any of them to step back into the ring.] |
Standard Match: Sweet Sugar Shestack vs. Tyrone Brown |
["Surfin' U.S.A." by the Beach Boys hits and out walks Sweet Sugar Shestack, donning a pair of shades and carrying a surfboard under one arm. The fans begin cheering as Shestack struts down the ramp, props the surfboard up against the ring apron near his corner outside the ring, then rolls inside.] Harvey Schultz:: These two men debuted at Dead & Bloated, and both favor the superkick as their finishing maneuvers. This should be a great match, except for the fact that Tyrone has him by nearly a foot in height and a hundred pounds in weight. [White strobe lights shoot throughout the arena as the Atlantic-Tron goes completely white. Suddenly, Machine's face flashes across the screen, followed by a bright white flash, in which Tyrone Brown's face is shown. The light flashes again, and this time Dillinger's face is shown. Once again, the bright white light hits, and Dillinger's face is replaced by James Nightbane's.] Deep Voice:: These men are Brother's of the Dark Light. [A large burst of pyro erupts as "Back in Black" by AC/DC starts up. A large, black, muscular man by the name of Tyrone Brown walks out, dragging Sheldon Grimes behind him. Grimes attempts to head backstage, but Brown holds him firmly in place. Accepting the inevitable, Grimes follows him down the ramp.] Harvey Schultz:: This man is simply a physical speciman. At almost seven feet tall, and nearing the three hundred pound mark, he's intimidating to look at. [The Hornet slides into the ring, the heads to his corner. Mitch Horton starts the match, and both men walk towards the middle of the ring. Shestack strikes first with several stinging left jabs, then rears back and drills Brown in the jaw with a right hook. Tyrone stumbles back a step, then stuns Sweet Sugar with a rake to the eyes, followed by a spinned sweep which knocks Shestack to the mat.] Harvey Schultz:: Man, not only is this guy huge, he's quick-quick! [Brown stomps Shestack in the head a few times, then springs off the ropes and charges at him. Shestack leans to the side and catches Tyrone with a big left hand to the abdomen. Shestack hooks him for a side Russian legsweep, but Brown elbows him in the face and Irish whips him into the ropes. Shestack bounds off the ropes and goes for a spear on Brown, but the Hornet uses Shestack's momentum to lift him into the air and drill him with the Implant DDT!] Harvey Schultz:: There is way, James Nightbane's Darkness Falls! Nightbane's protege, the Hornet, is looking exceptional tonight in his first outing. [Tyrone lifts Shestack to his feet, where he stands dazed in the center of the ring. Tyrone leaps back, then thrusts forward and superkicks Shestack in the throat! Shestack falls to the mat at the Hornet covers him. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: The Stinger spelled the end for Sweet Sugar. An impressive and dominating debut by Tyrone Brown. [Not finished, Tyrone rolls out of the ring, grabs a steel chair, and rolls back in. Placing Shestack's leg into the chair, Tyrone heads to the second turnbuckle. Shestack lays motionless in the ring as Tyrone leaps off the top rope and stomps down onto the chair with all his might!] Harvey Schultz:: No! Tyrone just snapped his ankle! Get some help out here, stat! [Kenny clutches his lower leg and begins screaming in pain as Tyrone kicks him in the face, knocking him back to the mat. EMTs and security rush into the ring as the smiling Tyrone Brown rolls out of the ring, happy with his work. He and Sheldon walk back up the ramp while the fans boo them.] Harvey Schultz:: This guy is sick and demented, just like his mentor, James Nightbane. |
Standard Match: A Damn Fine Man vs. Billy Suggs |
["Dead & Bloated" by Stone Temple Pilots hits as Billy Suggs walks out from the back with the Don at his side. The fans boo while the two men walk down the ramp, wondering who everybody is booing. Suggs climbs into the ring as the Don waits outside taking random swings from his water canteen.] Harvey Schultz:: There he is, the practitioner of water weight workouts, and runner up to the Television Championship. Maybe he can make up for it tonight be derailing the undefeated Josh McCool. ["Hair of the Dog" by Nazareth blares over the speakers as the Son of a Bitch comes out onto the stage, trailed by Alice Loysell, who's seen better days. Wearing a plain red T-shirt and black jeans, she accompanies her man to ringside as ADFM slides under the bottom rope, where he's immediately attacked by Suggs. Horton quickly calls for the bell.] Harvey Schultz:: Alice took quite the DDT a few days ago, suffering a mild concussion, and she still doesn't look too hot here tonight. I was told by McCool earlier today that if Nightbane or any of his other lackies decided to interfere in his business, he'd personally kill each and every one of them. J.J. Jackson:: I killt a man once... Harvey Schultz:: Oh, really??? J.J. Jackson:: Yeah, Abe Lincoln. I killed him for sellin' poisoned milk to schoo chiddlers. Harvey Schultz:: You're weren't even alive back then, you idiot! J.J. Jackson:: Oh...So I wasn't... [Suggs continues to hammer down on McCool as he tries to stand. After receiving quite a bit of punishment, McCool retaliates with a giant headbutt, knocking Suggs to the mat. Suggs quickly scrambles to his feet, but McCool is waiting with a dropkick. Again, Suggs hits the mat and pops back up, full of energy. McCool bounces off the ropes and nearly beheads Suggs with the FaceLift, causing a loud commotion from the crowd while Alice claps enthusiastically at ringside!] Harvey Schultz:: The FaceLift! That's step one! [McCool quick walks to the corner, turns, and waits for Suggs to stand. Dazed, Suggs slowly stands, partially bent over. ADFM flies out of the corner, leaps into the air, and puts his leg above Billy's head. Somehow, the Backwoods Barracuda catches ADFM in mid-air, lifts him even higher, and slams him to the mat with a spinning powerbomb!] Harvey Schultz:: My word what a counter by Suggs, and McCool is flat on his back! [Bill rolls into a sitting position and draws his thumb across his throat much to the fans' dismay. McCool slowly gets to his feet, but Suggs is waiting and locks McCool in the Golden Sunset. McCool begins flailing his arms, then uses all of his might to push himself backwards, sandwiching Suggs in the corner. Billy refuses to break the hold, so ADFM sandwiches him again. This time, Suggs breaks the hold as ADFM drops to a knee.] Harvey Schultz:: The Son of a Bitch has broken out of it... J.J. Jackson:: Uh oh, here come Nightboner and tha rest o' the Dark Boys. [Nightbane slides into the ring and waits as McCool slowly stands. Nightbane kicks him in the ribs, then lifts him into the air and plants him with the Implant DDT! The referee calls for the bell as Nightbane hovers over McCool and begins to pound him in the forehead.] Harvey Schultz:: Nightbane just cost Suggs the match, and now he's going to work on McCool's stitched up forehead. [Infuriated, Suggs lifts Nightbane by the hair and decks him in the face, knocking him to the ground. The fans roar as Suggs begins stomping the hell out of Nightbane. Dillinger and Tyrone Brown slide into the ring and Machine steps over the top rope as Suggs chokes Nightbane with his boot. Brown grabs Suggs by the back of the head and throws him out of the ring. Dillinger and Machine begin working on McCool as Nightbane recovers.] Harvey Schultz:: It looks like McCool is in for another beating at the hands of the Brotherhood of the Dark Lights! [Machine lifts McCool off the ground, wraps his hand around his neck, and chokeslams him to the mat. Outside the ring, an infuriated Billy Suggs grabs a steel chair. Inside the ring, Dillinger applies the Dillinger Death Grip to McCool as Suggs slides back into the ring. Tyrone approaches him, but gets clocked in the side of the head with the chair, knocking him between the ropes and out of the ring. The fans erupt as Nightbane runs at Suggs, but only to get the chair smashed down on top of his head. Dillinger releases the hold and comes next, but Suggs jabs him in the gut with the chair, then slams it down into his back. Dillinger hits the mat and rolls out of the ring as Machine stands across the ring from Suggs, waiting. Suggs approaches him and drills him with the chair, knocking him back several feet. Suggs takes a few steps back, then gets a running start and drills Machine in the top of the head. Machine falls backwards over the top rope where he lands on the arena floor in a heap!] Harvey Schultz:: Billy Suggs has just cleared the ring of the entire Brotherhood of the Dark Lights, and it seems that Machine has been knocked out cold! [McCool slowly begins to stand in the ring as Suggs stares down the Brotherhood, who have grouped outside the ring in front of the ramp. The Backwoods Barracuda holds the ropes open for them, inviting them back in the ring, but none of them accept his offer. Alice slides into the ring and helps McCool stand as Suggs turns around, sees him, and swings for the fences. Alice dives out of the way just in time as Suggs hammers him in the side of the head! The fans boo as Billy spots Alice and heads towards her. She climbs out of the ring and runs for cover as Suggs swings over the top rope, barely missing her.] Harvey Schultz:: Suggs is swinging at anything that moves! [Suggs begins screaming angrily before leaving the ring and heading up the ramp on a rampage. He disappears behind the curtain at the top of the ramp as the Don follows behind him.] |
An interrupted hardcore match. |
[Backstage, Joe LaBracio and Gutter have already started their hardcore match, but are interrupted by a stampede of men...an angry Brotherhood of the Dark Lights. Nightbane yells as he flies into view and clotheslines both men. Nightbane lifts LaBracio off the ground and throws him into the brick wall, then begins choking the life out of Gutter as the rest of the men watch in awe at Nightbane's rage.] J.J. Jackson:: Look at 'im! Maybe he need a hotdog or somethin'. Harvey Schultz:: A chill pill is more like it. J.J. Jackson:: Yo, I like Tyrone. Y'know, me an him is the only brothas 'round here. [Nightbane pulls Gutter up off the ground, then signals for Brown to join him. The two lock Gutter in a double-headlock, then lift him into the air and plant him with a dual Implant DDT on the concrete! Gutter's head can be heard cracking on the cement!] Harvey Schultz:: Ladies and gentlemen, that was skull on concrete! [LaBracio attempts to stand again, but Nightbane grabs him and throws him back into the wall. LaBracio hits, then stumbles back and falls on top of Gutter. The referee begins to count. 1...2...3! Harvey Schultz:: Well, LaBracio has officially won this match, but I think Nightbane and Co. aren't done inflicting punishment. |
Interrupting and Interruption |
James Nightbane:: You guys...take care of them. I've got a match in a few seconds. [Nightbane walks off, and once he's out of sight, a loud shriek can be heard coming from somewhere off camera. Suggs flies into view and nails Machine in the back with his dented steel chair, dropping the big man to one knee. Tyrone turns around, but only to be dropped with a shot to the head. Dillinger begins fumbling in the front pocket of his overalls for a weapon, but is struck in the head long before finding it. Machine slowly begins to stand, but Suggs nails him in the back of the head, knocking him to the concrete!] Harvey Schultz:: I don't think Machine is getting his doses of painkillers and dietary supplements, because he sure as hell felt those shots from Suggs! |
Atlantic Championship: Round 1: Standard Match: James Nightbane vs. Jack Korse |
["Meaning of Life" by Disturbed starts up, and out walks Jack Korse to no reaction from the crowd. The well-built man walks down the ramp and slides into the ring, where he begins posing for the fans. James Nightbane runs out from the backs, slides into the ring, and waits behind Korse for a moment while he continues to pose.] Harvey Schultz:: It looks like Nightbane wants to get this match started a bit early. Korse doesn't even know he's out here! [Getting impatient, Nightbane spins Korse around, locks his head, and Implant DDTs him right in the middle of the ring. Referee Perry Daton calls for the bell as Nightbane stands on Korse's chest with one foot. Daton makes the count. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: Well, that one was over quick. What the, here comes Tyrone Brown, stumbling down the ramp. [The Hornet, most likely escaping a Billy Suggs beating, hobbles down the ramp and slides into the ring as Nightbane hops out and grabs a chair. Tyrone stands around, shaking the cobwebs out of his head while Nightbane slides back in and places Korse's leg into the chair. Nightbane the looks at Tyrone and nods toward the corner. Taking action, Tyrone walks over and climbs up the turnbuckle as Korse is held in place by Nightbane.] J.J. Jackson:: They's gonna break his leg, too. [The Hornet hops of the turnbuckle and slams his feet down onto the chair, causing Korse to scream in pain!] Harvey Schultz:: Listen to him scream! Tyrone Brown is an African-American Crippler! [Nightbane lifts Korse off the mat, chair still wrapped around injured ankle while Tyrone measures him, then drills him with the Stinger superkick! Korse falls to the mat as Nightbane gets in a few extra stomps. The two men leave the ring to a raging chorus of boos.] Harvey Schultz:: These guys are out for blood, it's obvious. They've already broken two ankles tonight! How many more men will be injured before the night is over? |
Enter: Griffin Youngblood |
[Griffin Youngblood is shown stomping down a hall somewhere inside the Salem Civic Center with his black trenchcoat flowing behind him. He makes a turn, then comes to Richard Cormier's dressing room and bursts in. Richard, his daughter, and the B.A.B. 3000 are all sitting on chairs and couches inside the nicely furnished room. Griffin takes a few steps into the room, then stands and stares at Cormier.] Richard Cormier:: May I help you? Griffin Youngblood:: I want my job back. How do I have to go through to get it? Richard Cormier:: That's right, I hadn't really thought about it. I usually have IMPORTANT things on my mind... [Griffin gives him a hard stare.] Richard Cormier:: Let me see here. I don't really have any free talent available for a match. Hmmm...wait a minute...Moloch, you have any plans tonight? Moloch:: Nope! Richard Cormier:: No, that won't do. How about you Plaz, what are your plans? Plaz Bastardo:: Nada, boss. Richard Cormier:: No, no, no. That won't work either. Loki, you doin' anything? Loki Bastardo:: Not that I know of...Dick...tee hee hee... [The three Bitch Ass Bastards begin laughing amongst themselves while Richard watches confused.] Richard Cormier:: I've got it! Tonight, Griffin Youngblood will have a chance to get his job back...against Plaz Bastardo...! [Plaz turns around and looks at Richard questioningly.] Richard Cormier:: ...Loki Bastardo, and Moloch in a handicap match! Griffin, this is your only chance, so don't screw up! Ha ha ha! [Richard and the B.A.B. begin laughing as Regina simply smirks at Griffin, a hint of hatred in her eyes. Hearing all he came for, Griffin slowly turns and walks out of the room to go prepare for his match.] Harvey Schultz:: Griffin Youngblood is gonna need an act of God to win that match, because the odds surely aren't in his favor here tonight! |
Atlantic Championship: Round 1:
Standard Match: Pyro-Maniac vs. Machine |
[The Atlantic-Tron comes to life as each member of the Brotherhood of the Dark Lights faces flash across the screen before four large columns of bright white pyro shoots off. Machine stumbles out from the back, still feeling the effects of the chairshots he received earlier from Suggs.] Harvey Schultz:: Here comes Machine, and he doesn't look to be in good shape at all. J.J. Jackson:: You can say that again, foo. Harvey Schultz:: Yes, I could say it again, but why would I want to? [As Machine steps over the top rope into the ring, the arena goes pitch black. When the lights return, Pyro-Maniac is standing behind Machine. The crowd begins to cheer as Machine slowly turns around. Pyro hammers him with several punches to the face.] Harvey Schultz:: Pyro-Maniac just entered the ring much like his brother P.O.D. used to, cloaking himself in darkness. [Pyro goes for a bodyslam, but Machine clubs him in the back. Pyro takes a step back, wincing in pain as Machine wraps his big mit around Pyro's neck. Pyro-Maniac rakes Machine's eyes, causing him to release his grip. Pyro bounces off the ropes and nails Machine with a big shoulder block, but Machine stands his ground. Pyro bounces off the strands again, but Machine catches him by the throat, lifts him into the air with one hand, and chokeslams him to the mat with authority.] Harvey Schultz:: What strength the big Machine possesses! [Machine makes the easy cover and hooks the leg. 1...2...kickout! The fans begin cheering as Pyro rolls to the ropes and pulls himself up. Groggy, the fire lover tries to fight off Machine, but the German is too powerful and bodyslams Pyro to the mat. Machine goes for a big legdrop, but Pyro-Maniac rolls out of the way. While this is going on, Billy Suggs runs out from the back holding his dented steel chair in hand. Machine stands back up and goes to Irish whip Pyro into the ropes, but Pyro reverses, sending the big man in. As Machine bounces off the ropes, Suggs nails him in the back with the chair. Machine stumbles forward a few steps as Pyro-Maniac locks him in and plants him with the Hell-Fire! Pyro quickly covers him. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: Pyro-Maniac advances in the tourney! That's gotta be considered a big upset over Machine! |
Interview: HaZe |
Harvey Schultz:: Well folks, it's now time for the interview I conducted earlier today with HaZe. Roll it. [The Atlantic-Tron comes to life with a shot of Harvey Schultz and HaZe sitting in what appears to be a living room. HaZe looks pretty banged up with a few bruises on his face, but most noticable of all is the absence of the Heavyweight Championship belt. Harvey begins the interview.] Harvey Schultz:: HaZe, as you know, I'm here to conduct an interview with you concerning the ungodly match you participated in at Dead & Bloated. Let's get started. HaZe, what was your mindset going into this match? HaZe:: The first thing I did was prepare myself for pain because I knew I was going to feel lots of it. I watched the tape of my previous match with Mandrake a few times to help. I knew this match would be twice as crazy as that one. As far as Mandrake, I didn't really change my mindset with him, I just knew I was going to have to fight my hardest against him. He's been my toughest competitor so I knew I couldn't slack off anytime during the match. Harvey Schultz:: Were you fully aware that Cormier had no interest in Mandrake whatsoever? Was it all part of the master plan? HaZe:: Of course. Mr Cormier told me many times that I was the chosen champion of the AWA and he would do nothing to change that, he is the master of the master plans. Harvey Schultz:: What were you thinking moments prior to driving Mandrake through the ladder with the Enlightenment? HaZe:: I knew that hitting him with Enlightenment on the ladder was going to hurt me as much as it hurt me, but I was very willing to sacrafice myself to keep my title. I think when everyone in that arena saw me in the air, I gave them a moment they will never forget. Harvey Schultz:: Was there any point during the match in which you felt you wouldn't be able to continue? HaZe:: I would be lying if I said that didn't enter my head during the match, but everytime it did, I just imagined Mandrake with the belts and thats all it took to get me back on my feet. Harvey Schultz:: What injuries did you sustain during the match? HaZe:: I sprained my knee and injured my ribs. I broke one and four were cracked. The worst injury was the internal bleeding. I think it was caused from hitting Enlightenment when Mandrake was on the ladder. And falling twenty feet off ladders didn't help it any. After the match I kept coughing up blood, it was really starting to worry me but eventually the doctors stopped the bleeding. My lungs, stomach, and back still hurt from it though. Harvey Schultz:: Did you have any fear at all during the match, such as when you superplexed Mandrake off the top of the twenty-foot ladder through the four tables? HaZe:: Well Harvey, obviously when somebody is 20 feet up in the air getting and getting punched in the face, they're not going to have a warm and fuzzy feeling. There were times when I was on the ladder and I'd think "Wow this is high." But for the most part, I was as bout as confident as you could be for someone in that type of match. Harvey Schultz:: Were you, Richard and Regina Cormier, and the B.A.B. 3000 in cohoots all along? HaZe:: We certainly were. Everything from Richard slapping his daughter, to bringing in Moloch at Dead & Bloated was planned from the very beginning. Unfortunately, I didn't end up with the belt like planned, but all in due time. Harvey Schultz:: In closing, do you feel disappointed about your performance during the match? HaZe:: Yes I am dissapointed. It doesn't matter it that match is considered the best match in AWA history, I did not walk away with the victory and more importantly with my title. Its dissapointing because I feel that I had the match in hand. However, if I must lose, I'm glad it was to Mandrake because he is very talented and I respect him as a wrestler. Its just a matter of time though, before we both step in the ring again and when that happens, you can expect more of the same with one difference, me with the belt. Harvey Schultz:: Okay, HaZe, thank you for your time, and get well soon. [HaZe acknowledges him with a nod as the scene fades out back into the arena.] |
Handicap Match: Griffin Youngblood vs. The B.A.B. |
["Come As You Are" by Nirvana starts up as golden pyro sprays up from the staging area. The returning Griffin Youngblood walks out with his black trenchcoat and black tights with a golden Griffen on one leg and the word "Youngblood" written on the other. The fans cheer the return of Griffin Youngblood as he walks down the ramp with an intense look on his kisser.] Harvey Schultz:: This one's for all the marbles...well, in Griffin's case, anyhow. If he doesn't win this match, he's done with the AWA for good. [Loki, Moloch, and Plaz run out as Youngblood nears the ring. Loki reaches him first with a club to the back, knocking Youngblood into the ring apron. The three men begin putting the boots to him outside before throwing him in the ring. Griffin is quickly to his feet by the time the Bastardos and Moloch enter the ring. Youngblood DDTs Loki, then catches Plaz with an inverted atomic drop. Moloch attacks Griffin from behind, then begins to pound him with right hands. Griffin catches his arm during one of the punches and armdrags him to the mat.] Harvey Schultz:: Well, Griffin certainly seems to be holding his own, but it's only a matter of time before the numbers game catches up with him. [Regina Cormier walks out to a thunderous chorus of boos while Youngblood continues to beat down the B.A.B. 3000. Regina waltzes around the ring while Griffin dropkicks Loki out of the ring. Plaz comes at him, but Youngblood catches him with a modified spinning powerbomb into a pin. 1...2...kickout! Moloch charges Youngblood, but gets backdropped over the top rope to the arena floor. Youngblood hops outside the ring to continue the beating.] Harvey Schultz:: Griffin has things well in hand, and looks to dish out some more punishment outside the ring. [Youngblood begins pounding away on Loki outside the ring while Regina quickly makes her way around the ring. Regina walks up behind Griffin as he quickly turns and stares at her. Regina tries to seduce Youngblood, but he promptly grabs her by the neck, gaining him a loud response of approval from the crowd. Regina kicks Youngblood in the groin, then backs away. Loki and Moloch roll Griffin into the ring, then begin climbing opposite turnbuckles while Plaz plants Youngblood in the center of the ring with a diving reverse DDT.] Harvey Schultz:: Uh oh. This doesn't look good... J.J. Jackson:: No it don't. [Plaz climbs to the top tope as the three men stand perched in different corners. The Bastardos connect with the El-Blow Job at the same time Moloch hits his frog splash. Moloch covers Griffin as the Super Bastardo Bros. look on. 1...2...3!] Harvey Schultz:: Well, thanks to the Bitch Ass Bastards 3000, with a little help from Regina Cormier, Griffin Youngblood will stay on suspension indefinitely. |
Interview: Mandrake |
[The Atlantic-Tron comes to life again, this time with a view of Harvey Schultz and Mandrake. the pre-recorded interview featuring Mandrake begins.] Harvey Schultz:: Mandrake, I'd like to thank you for joining me today, as I know you're not in the best condition. [Mandrake simply nods to him, as he appears to be pretty banged up and bandaged in a few places.] Harvey Schultz:: Okay, going into this match, were there doubts in your mind that you might not be able to live up to all of the hype put on this match? Mandrake:: Absolutely not. I've been in a few high profile matches over these past three years, and Haze has been my opponent in several of those. Between the two of us I knew we'd put on a show no one would ever forget...and that's just what we did. Harvey Schultz:: How much of the match can you actually recollect? Mandrake:: Well...I think I can remember the majority of the match...up to that suplex off the ladder into those tables, that is. Now THAT really knocked me for a loop, and most of what took place after that is still a little fuzzy. I know how it ended, though, and that's all that matters. Harvey Schultz:: Many claim that after HaZe busted your nose with that heinous chairshot, you didn't quite know where you were and were running on instincts. Any truth to that? [Mandrake simply ponders for a moment.] Mandrake:: A little, I suppose. It's true that Haze's chairshot was one of the worst I've ever experienced, but I run on instinct most of the time anyway. It came into play a little more after getting drilled, of course, but that's how I work most of the time. Harvey Schultz:: After being driven through the ladder on the outside of the ring, you somehow managed to get up and ascend the twenty-foot ladder, then deliver a breathtaking missile dropkick to knock HaZe away from the belts. How did you manage to pull that off? Mandrake:: I had no choice, Harvey. At least that's how I was thinking at the time. I knew that neither one of us had much left after what we had been through, and seeing him that close to the belts made me realize that it was all or nothing. It took everything that I had to climb that ladder, but if that's what it took to keep Haze from winning, well, that's what it took. You don't mess around when it comes to the heavyweight title. Harvey Schultz:: It's pretty evident that you are NOT aligned with the Brotherhood of the New Lights or Richard Cormier. What was your first thought when you saw him in the ring offering you the money? Mandrake:: I knew he had something up his sleeve. Cormier knows as well as anyone that I would never join him, and he's too smart to walk into that situation without a backup plan. I was glad to finally show everyone that I'm not the sell-out that some folks have claimed, but at the same time I was thinking something was about to go down that might jeopardize my title chances. I just wanted him out of that ring so I could resume pummeling Haze. Harvey Schultz:: Towards the end of the match, you somehow managed to climb the twenty-foot ladder once again, but this time, you were superplexed from the top of it through four tables. Were you still conscious after impact? Mandrake:: I'm pretty sure that I blacked out for a few seconds after that move. That was a pretty vicious hit. Even after I came to, the rest of the evening was pretty much a blur. I'm not afraid to say I'd rather not do that again anytime soon. Harvey Schultz:: What would you say the most painful portion of the match was for you? Mandrake:: Hmmm...that's a good one. The suplex off the ladder was pretty heinous, but I don't think I was coherent enough after that to realize how much pain I should be in. Then there was the kick to the groin, and that's never good. Buuut, if I had to narrow it down to just one moment, I'd have to go with the chairshot. When that steel slammed into my face...man, oh man, I went down like a sack of hammers. Heck, it still smarts when I blow my nose and I'm still getting a pretty good mixture of blood and snot. Yeah...the chairshot hurt like a mother. Harvey Schultz:: Okay, lastly, when the Bastardos ran out after you'd won the match, did you think they'd come down to congratulate you, or did you have a feeling they had something up their sleeves? Mandrake:: Oh, I knew they weren't there to shake my hand. Not those two I was more than willing to let them join Haze in his bloody mess, but I simply couldn't do it. I had just been through one of the most violent matches of my career and I didn't have enough left to keep it going. Sooner or later, though, B.A.B. 3000 and myself will meet up when I'm 100%, and then we'll see how it turns out... Harvey Schultz:: Well, Mandrake, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to come in, and I hope you get well soon. Oh, and congratulations on becoming the Heavyweight Champion. Mandrake:: Thanks. [Mandrake slowly stands, grimacing from the pain, and slowly begins to limp out of the room as the shot fades to black. The scene returns to back inside the arena.] |
Fifteen Minute Time Limit: Standard Match: Jerry Verboncour vs. William Ian Dillinger | Television Championship |
[The lights go dim and a bright white light flashes across the Atlantic-Tron, followed by each member of the Brotherhood of the Dark Lights face.] ["Closer" by Nine Inch Nails starts up and the boos become louder. The deranged William Ian Dillinger walks out dressed in blue denim overalls and a black leather mask and warbles down to the ring. Dillinger slides into the ring and wanders around for a few seconds as the lights resume and his music cuts.] Harvey Schultz:: Jerry Verboncour has got to be hoping that he leaves this match with both his belt AND his health intact. ["Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns n' Roses slices through the air, and the fans come to their feet. Verboncour marches out with his Television Championship belt held high in his left hand, and his right index finger thrust into the air while he makes his way down to the ring.] Harvey Schultz:: Jules, the fans have really jumped aboard the Jerry Verboncour bandwagon. It seems that everybody wants to be one of Jerry's Kids! J.J. Jackson:: Straight up! [Verboncour dives into the ring, tosses the belt to Perry Daton, and begins trading blows with William Ian Dillinger center stage as the bell sounds, starting the match. Dillinger and Verboncour go toe to toe, but Dillinger seems to be getting the advantage over the champion. Dillinger goes for a kick to the stomach, but Jerry catches his foot.] Jerry Verboncour:: Kiss your ass goodbye you sorry son of a bitch! Harvey Schultz:: Did you hear Jerry yelling at Dillinger inside the ring? [Jerry spins William around by his foot, kicks him in the mid-section, then delivers the West Point Stunner! Dillinger flies off his feet and flips over backwards as Verboncour quickly makes the cover. Machine, Nightbane, and Tyrone Brown sprint out from the back as the referee makes the count. 1...2...3! Nightbane shoots into the ring and clubs Verboncour across the back of the head, but it's too late.] Harvey Schultz:: What a quick match! I don't think Dillinger even knew what hit him! Now the entire Brotherhood of the Dark Lights is beating the hell out of Jerry Verboncour! |
Darkness Falls on Jerry Verboncour |
[Machine drills Verboncour with a chokeslam as ADFM runs out from the back. The fans erupt as the injured McCool slides into the ring and goes right after Nightbane. Dillinger slowly pulls himself up in the corner as the Son of a Bitch spears Nightbane to the mat and begins pummeling him. Tyrone Brown rolls out of the ring momentarily, then returns with a chair as Dillinger and Machine beat down a Damn Fine Man.] Harvey Schultz:: The Brotherhood of the Dark Lights is having their way with Josh McCool and Jerry Verboncour. Wait, here comes Billy Suggs! [The fans cheer uncharacteristically for the Backwoods Barracuda as he dives into the ring. As soon as he stands, Brown is there to meet him with a chair shot to the head, stunning him. Tyrone follows up the chairshot with the Stinger, sending Suggs to the mat. The Brotherhood continues to beat down the three men in the ring as Riptide goes off the air.] Harvey Schultz:: Fans, we'll see you next week! Goodnight all! [Fade to black.] |
