GENESIS- I WAS A TEENGENERATE!
- Like a magical kiss, The Crucials have been bemusing and jolting audiences for over thirty years- or have they? Beginning in 1967, The Crucials’ tale is one that defies even the most absurd stories in rock and roll lore. Comprised of young apartment-hopping drifters, The Crucials originally found themselves operating out of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, playing with many now-infamous northwest garage acts. With a combination of evangelistic enthusiasm, rock and roll bombast, and pinch of mod soul, The Crucials exploded with live shows that fused together both action and music.
- However, this chaotic domination couldn’t last. On a dire evening in 1969, The Crucials played a show that culminated in what can only be described as “Biff! Bang! Pow!” During one of the last songs in the band’s set, Conrad Crucial Esq. climbed atop his amplifier and leaped off, taking hold of the venue’s lighting rig. In an example of the gods’ jealous will, the rig collapsed, crushing the band on stage! Tragedy! The end!
- But like some of history’s most cherished saviors, The Crucials were poised for a revival when their bodies were put on ice in an attempt to preserve them for the future-a time when their psychotic soul shakedown would be needed the most! Apparently, the time is now, for The Crucials have returned, miraculously retaining their youth, their songs, a penchant for rock and roll terror, and their “the best should dress the best” mentality! Finding allies in contemporary groups like The Mooney Suzuki and The (International) Noise Conspiracy, The Crucials are once again asking audiences, “Are you ready to be saved?”
