I started off in wrestling like everyone else, a fan. As far back as I can remember I was watching wrestling on t.v. and going to all the local shows. I wrestled in middel school and in high school. However, I did not do very well at it, but stuck with it because I loved the stuff. One month after I graduated high school, I met Bulldog Blanski: an indy wrestler that I had known of. After my meeting with him I made the decision to become a pro wrestler. Bulldog took me to meet Ox Baker, a legend in the wrestling business. I met with Ox on a Sunday afternoon. He said he could make me a wrestler. So, the next Sunday, I started training. I trained with Ox for four months, however I found myself going nowhere fast. I made a decision that changed my career.
I met a man named Gino Caruso at an ECPW event in Fairfield, CT. Gino told me about his school in New Jersey, and invited me to come and check it out. About two weeks later, myself, Bulldog, and a former student of Gino, Rex Lethal, all traveled the two hours to Gino's school to see what Gino had to offer.
I sat in during the training session, and I liked the atmosphere. So, by the end of the day I decided to quit with Ox and join up with the ECPW.
For the next 4 months, I traveled two hours to Jersey, trained for four hours, and traveled two hours back home, two days a week. Until finally, I had my first match in ECPW on the last Wednesday of March, 1999. I faced John Anthony. I continued to train two days a week and started wrestling on the Independent Circuit. About two years into my career, I found myself on a plateau. So, I started to train at both Gino's ECPW school and at Jason Knight's, House of Pain Dojo in Waterbury, CT. Soon after I found myself stepping off that plateau but right on to another one. So I made the decision to travel to Ocala, FL and receive training from the best, Dory Funk, Jr.
Since that trip, I have slowly started making my way off the plateau and continue to improve. I still to this day travel two hours to New Jersey and train every week and continue to work more and more indy shows around the United States.
