Spanky had to cancel out of a matchup for Ring of Honor against fellow graduate of the Shawn Michael's wrestling Academy due to a title defense for Zero-One in Japan. He will be replaced by Donovan Morgan.

Bobb Eaton has opened a new site, www.bobbyeaton.com and is starting a school called "Midnight Xpress Institute of Pro Wrestling" in Harrisburg, NC.

Steve Wilkos, head security for the Jerry Springer show will be the special guest referee for Beautiful Babes of Wrestling show August 16th when Candie & Vanessa take on Alexis Laree & Sasha

East Coast worker Homicide will be traveling to Japan to compete for Big Japan Wrestling starting Friday, August 2nd where he will be defending his JAP Heavyweight title.

World Wrestling Alliance will be hosting a 2 day training camp 8/3-8/4. The camp will be taught by WWE development coordinator Tom Pritchard. For more info visit: www.wwanewengland.com

The Travel Channel will be doing an extensive documentary on Ring of Honor & the independents, covering in depth Scoot Andrews, Xavier, Chris Daniels, Spanky and Low Ki. Included will also be production meetings & matches when the documentary comes out on TV

IPW Hardcore Wrestling stars Mike Sullivan, Lex Lovett, Fidel Sierra, Billy Fives, Hack Myers and Vito Dennuci are currently on a tour of Saudi Arabia along with Kevin Sullivan, John Tenta, Barbarian and Joe E Legend. The tour runs from July 23rd-30th

Steve Corino, CW Anderson & PWF official Mike Kehner are competing in the Zero-One promotion, they will also be taking part in their PPV 8/4.

Promoter Jason Hutto announced on his promotions website Carolina Championship Wrestling that he will be susepending the promotion for the rest of the year due to personal & financial problems, he hopes to start it up again in 2003.

NWA Tri-State announced they will be opening an affiliate promotion run by Kenny McCoy entitled NWA Bluegrass which will run shows in Kentucky and, down the line West Virginia.

XWF is working as a booking agency now for workers in their promotion including Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenan, Nasty Boys, Kid Kash, Kiss Demon, Greg Valentine, Hacksaw Duggan, Public Enemy, Konnan, and British Storm. The site is: www.inyourfacebookings.com

WWE has dropped Les Thatcher's Heartland Wrestling Association as a developmental territory and released E.Z. Money, Mike Sanders, Race Steele, Steve Bradley, Jason Surgarman, Kim Nielsen, Chad Collyer, Ron Waterman, Sharmell Sullivan, Flash, BJ Payne & Jon Heidenreich (Big Bad John). While Charlie Haas & Lance Cade have been moved to Ohio Valley Wrestling.

NWA Wildside stars Corsica Joe & Chris Champion were both recently hospitalized in Tennessee.

Insanity Pro Wrestling will be putting on a show during the Vans Warped Tour show in Indianapolis, IN on 7/25. Matches include: Staple gun, thumbtack & barbed wire rope

Ray Lloyd known as Glacier of WCW, will be getting married Saturday July 13th.

Former WWE, UFC & NWA Heavyweight Champion Dan "The Beast" Severn will be recieving the 2002 Frank Gotch award from the International Wrestling Institute and Museum. The award is given to a professional wrestler who represents the sport in a fashion reminiscent of the great Gotch. "Dan is truly in the mold of Frank Gotch, and we are honored to include him on the list of Gotch Award winners, along with Bobby Managoff and Tom Drake," said Mike Chapman, director. Banquet tickets are $50 each (includes admission to the museum for the entire weekend) and seating is limited. Admission to the inductions at the museum on Saturday is $3 for adults and $2 for students. For more information, call the museum at 641-791-1517. XPW will feature an exploding ring 40 foot scaffold match, the first in its kind. The loser of the match will be that who falls off the scaffold and into the ring, which will then explode.

Southern States Wrestling will be working with Iron Ring Wrestling. The deal is IRW will get two or three matches on all SSW shows (half hour UPN affiliate in tri cities), but SSW will retain control of booking towns, angles, and finishes, outside of the three or four big shows IRW runs every year. So IRW is getting their name and talents back on TV, while Tankersley is providing SSW with connections in the region to various sponsors which he's made through the armored car service he owns
