JCW J-Cup Thoughts

The Jersey Championship Wrestling J-Cup, much like the Super J-cup in New Japan, has been a hotbed for some of the top wrestling talent in the country, including some of promotions top talent squaring off for one night only. JCW has moved the venue to the much larger RexPlex Entertainment Center, here is what previous competitors have said about the event

---------------------------------------------------------------

Wrestling in the Jersey JCup was a great experience. It was the first time I got to step in the ring with both Lo-Ki and Judas Young, and I'm really happy with the way that both matches went. I only wish they add decided to add me to the mix this year. I've received tons of emails from fans wanting to know why I wasn't included and I don't have an answer for them. I do know that some of the best indy wrestlers in the country will be there and I'm sure this year's show will be topnotch. - Shark Boy

Participating in the 1st ever J Cup for me was a great feeling. At that time I was progressing very fast, and each match was getting better and better. In the first J Cup, I wrestled a young Dave Greco and then Lowki. The press said that the second match was the best on the show. Comparing Indy wrestling to the NBA then I would call the J Cup " Showtime". -Billy Reil

Hats off to all the Jcup competitors and the JCW crew. In ten years, I can easily say that was one of the best wrestling shows I've been apart of. The pure wrestling was just outstanding. I was impressed by every single match. As for my title defense vs. Jay Briscoe, it was one of my best matches in recent history. He's got alot of promise and a great future ahead of him. I've already offered him a rematch, and judging from the reaction we both got, the fans really want to see it. - Inferno

What can i say this was JCW's biggest show of the year and not to mentionprobablythe greatestshow they've had ever put on and i was glad to be apart of it. Going into the J-Cup i knew it wouldnt of be easy, RickyO had booked the best lightweights from all over. Now for me being the smallest competitor in the J-Cup i had to work hard but they didnt give me such an easy task as for i had to wrestle Reckless Youth in the 1st round. This was probably one of my best matches i have had but i didnt come out victorious, Reckless Youth got the best of me in the end of the match. But theres one thing i must say about him not only is he a great worker but a great sportsman because after the match when i was lying in the ring i felt him raise my hand and shake it and say thank you and that was the best feeling i have gotten in awhile and i was just happy to be apart of that tourtament and hope to be apart of it again next year and go all the way...- Insane Dragon

When your included in an event such as this it's not just "a booking" or "a payday." In an event such as this you lace your boots to work and thats what I tried todo every time. These shows are one's that will probably make its way all over the internet on videotape, not to mention the possiblities of what other promoters are there scouting talent so you don't want to look bad. The stakes are really high for me win loss or draw. My goal was always to prove to as many as possible that I do belong to be in that field of 16 every year. Give it everything I have and do the ebst I can. I love the concepts of all the indy tourneys out there and I just hope to continue to compete in all future J-Cups and other indy tourneys.- Dave Greco

The Event was really exciting for me. First time I was asked to an event to prove my skills. Lo-Ki is an excellent wrestler and it was and honor to have him in the first round. I hope one day to return to the ring and compete against him again- Grandmaster B

This years JCW Jcup was one of the best all around shows I've participated in. The level of quality in the wrestling itself was enough to make Jcup 3.0 one of the best tournaments this year. I thought the match that AJ and I had was something special in itself. It was only a second round match so one could imagine how great the matches became as the field became shorter. JCW is a very classy promotion and I look forward to returning to their rings and I plan on going even further come Jcup 4.0- Colt Cabana

The cup was fun. After the skull fracture, i'm glad I even remember it. I hope to be back next year, but I know peple always want to see new faces in tourneys. I was hurt going in, and I was worse after the whole thing, but I wouldn't change it for all the tea in China. Ricky-o is a great guy.- CM Punk

"Even though I didn't participate in it this year, It was a great honor to be selected as one of the few to make it into that tournament on more then one occasion. It was alot of fun, even though things didn't work out in my way"- White Lotus

As far as this years JCW J-Cup, I thought the competition was outstanding and I was honored to be in their company. I was pleased that the tournament was very scientific in nature and did not endorse the hardcore style and kept away from the spot monkeys. I had the pleasure of watching the complete tape and was very happy with the product- Reckless Youth
