1) How did you first get into wrestling?
Who trained you?
When I was a junior in college, I saw
an ad for a radio show in Cincinnati
hosted by Les Thatcher. I listened to
the show and wound up winning tickets
to an indy show where I met Les in person.
I told him of my love for the
business and he said he was opening
a wrestling school in a few weeks and
I
was more than welcome to come check
it out. The rest is history.
2) How old were you when you first
wanted to wrestle?
I really fell in love with the business
at age 12.
3) Who are your heroes in wrestling?
I would have to say Randy Savage, Brian
Pillman, and Ric Flair were my big
favorites as a kid.
4) Outside of wrestling, what are
your hobbies? What do you do?
Well, I'm a father of two, so that
takes up a lot of my time. I also enjoy
listening to heavy metal and alternative
music and I love going out and having
a good time with my friends when I can.
5) What is your ultimate goal in
wrestling?
I want to sign a deal with the WWE
and be a big star for a few years.
6) What has been your favorite match?
Who do you like working with the most?
It's hard to pick just one match, but
I would have to say the three-way I
worked with Billy Kidman and Eddie Guererro
at the "Curtis Comes Home"
show
was a real thrill. They are the two
smoothest workers I've ever been in
the
ring with and I'll never forget the
experience.
7) Who has the most prestigous title
in Wrestling, in your opinion?
Either "World Wrestling Entertainment
Heavyweight Champion" Stone Cold
Steve
Austin or "Genetic Jackhammer"
Vince McMahon.
8) Who/How did you come up with
the gimmick Shark Boy?
I was driving to a training session
one day and I heard this song by the
Toadies called "I Come from the
Water." It made me picture like
a superhero
who rises from the ocean to become a
wrestler. Since the only guys as small
as I was in the business at that time
were Mexicans, I started calling
myself "El Piranha." Then,
when I went to work for Ian Rotten in
Louisville,
he suggested I become Shark Boy.
9) Describe to the fans, what Shark
Boy is all about.
Like I said, he's a superhero who rose
from the ocean to battle the villians
of the wrestling world. It's a persona
that's easy to cheer for and you
never forget it once you've experienced
it.
10) How has exposure on MTv helped
your carrer?
A lot. More people saw me on MTV than
all my other national television
appearances combined.
11) What would be a dream match
in your book?
Depends on the dream. One dream I have
involves a match with Ric Flair. The
other involves Trish Stratus. :-)
12) Why do you think masked wrestlers,
especially in the U.S, are few and far
between?
Wrestlers are storytellers, and you
have to be a damn good storyteller to
perform without using facial expressions.
Most guys don't use enough body
language to last as masked wrestlers.
13) What is you advice for those
trying to get into pro wrestling?
Be very careful. It's a tough business
and there's plenty of individuals out
there who can't be trusted. Keep your
eyes and ears open and be smart.
Surround yourself with good people.
14) Any Final Words? A Shark Boy
Motto for all to live by?
Follow your dreams, whatever they are.
But if you want to be a wrestler and
you find yourself standing across the
ring from Shark Boy, there's only one
thing I can say: Think it's safe? Think
again... Shark Boy is waiting to
strike!
