May I run away today
Or should I find a way to stay
In this life that I live
Where there is so much to give
My question is
Though you see
Not as much thee
But me
Am I allowed to be as one
Allowed to walk in the sun
Able to run as others do
Around a block or maybe two
Or must I stay within these walls
And only walk within these halls
Should I hide inside my head
Or maybe pretend to be instead
