Crow
By Mirage
Through the night the dark crow flies
Crossing under blackened skies
Searching for that wounded soul
That to his domain must go
That one who's crying screaming sorrow
Tells the crow there's no tomorrow
For the soul so beaten and bowed
The one who is completely cowed
Listlessly walking through the night
Not caring where it will alight
Not knowing where the day has gone
Or caring where it might belong
For this soul the crow does fly
Crossing over waters wide
Passing those that need it not
Not stopping ‘til it finds the spot
Where the soul walks while waiting
For the crow that will be taking
The wounded soul to its domain
Where there will be an end to pain
A place where all will be bright
A place containing no more night
For the soul whose torment mingles
With the lost and lonely tingles
That used to mark the coming dawn
Of the light that used to fawn
Upon the skin of the lonely soul
Bringing light into that wounded hole
That did once hold a beating heart
That has now been torn apart
When the crow does find that soul
Upon its back it will hold
The one shall ride to worlds away
And somehow find the breaking day |
