A couple days or so later the water level is halfway covering the doors.
Now the doors are nearly submerged, as is the smaller white house to the left and the hut in front and the fence.

View of the Ganges River at flood stage. Most of the area in this photo would be the ghats (steps) which would be well above the river. But here they are completely flooded over. The streetlight is usually on land. Almost no boats at all dare launch out onto the river during the flood, so fast is the current.
