My humble and modest opinion on the topic of makeup...
They laugh at my determination. Even my mother, who has taught me to stand tall for what I believe in, rolls her eyes at what seems a silly and futile stand against the world of cosmetics. Loreal tells me I can have beautiful eyelashes…if I use their mascara. Covergirl advertises perfectly complected skin at the cost of a full-coverage compact. Who’s to say my eyelashes aren’t already beautiful just the way they are? Who’s to say my skin isn’t already perfectly imperfect? When did the standard of beauty rise to something God didn’t create? The irony of the term “make-up” goes unnoticed by far too many. It’s all a fantasy… all an attempt to avoid a not-so-harsh reality in order to reach some ridiculous ideal of beauty. I won’t mask what God created to be seen… what God created to be beautiful. I know I can’t change their minds, but if I could give one piece of advice, it would be very simple.
Save your money, ladies. Save your time. You are beautiful… just the way you are.
