    Originally, the retaining wall was a gray concrete. I sanded it off which will

    give it a rather weathered look when complete. I then scribed lines into the

    wood which makes it look like individual wood planks.

   

    Next add the top board, my top board extends about 1/8 inches above the

    base of the grade. Then add the vertical supports.

   

    Next cut your lateral supports to fit the openings between the vertical braces.

    The same thing is true of the base braces [middle picture].

   

    This is what it should look like up to this point. This taken about 3 hours

    to complete.

   

    Our next step will be to add a yellow oak stain, the top plate will be a dark

    red stain to match the tunnel portals.
