Bata-kun no Uchi - Diary Archives: 2003

12/30/03

Uho! I finally found out what's Jackie Chan's Cantonese name. It's Sing Lung!

Well, I am sad to hear that Mui Yim Fong (Anita) died of cancer at 2:50, this morning. This is a dark day indeed. May she rest in peace.

Mui Yim Fong (Anita), 10/10/1963 - 12/30/2003

12/27/03

Well, I'm tied up at the moment. Someone wants me to edit her guide again, I'm waiting for a friend to contact me, I'm looking for my friend's number and I have to edit the script of the next "Moeyo Ken" episode. If that's not enough, I have to keep looking for my location for jury duty, but I'm not going to postpone it because one, I'm a full-time student, two, I don't want to travel far, three, this is all Greek to me, as I would only sit down and read a manga while I wait for the cases and four, $15 a day? It's not enough, but oh well.

Haven't been watching a lot of anime or reading manga for a while. I've been updating lately. I'm not going to update on New Year's Day though. That's for sure.

I'm a busy bee indeed. I want a double. That way, I can finish so many tasks quickly.

Actually, I have changed plans in my updating schedule. I will update on New Year's Day. I'll put a list. It's not definite, but most of the items will be up at those times for sure. Well, this is a time to be editing after all.

Tomorrow - A review of "The King of Fighters 1997".

The 29th - A review "The King of Fighters 1998".

The 30th - Reviews of The next three 2-D MVS "Samurai Spirits" games.

The 31st - Reports on "Chrno Crusade" and "Hagane no Renkinjutsushi".

New Year's Day - A review of "Moeyo Ken" (Yes, I said "review" because the series ended in Japan already) and a new makeover.

The 2nd - An update on the "Tokimemo" guide by Klist.

The 3rd and 4th - No new additions. Just doing some last minute editing before I let the site rest and do my gigs for other sites. (I am for the fans after all.)

Hopefully, I can have the script finished by tomorrow. However, I have "Guardian Hearts's" final OVA pair in my computer right now. Bah! The script can wait! I waited for a month to see it, even though I will not give out a high score once I review it. Come to think of it, I need to finish my review of the series. So, yeah. I'll watch the conclusion of "Guardian Hearts" now. Oyasumi nasai.

12/22/03

"Binzume Ysei" review time!

"Binzume Ysei" - 10: A new year begins. Oh and the board game was real funny.

"Binzume Ysei" - 11: Valentine's Day is here, but other than Hororo's chocolate making gig, it didn't seem that memorable.

"Binzume Ysei" - 12: Hina Matsuri no Hi da! You have your usual Hina Matsuri gig. There were some sad moments, and there's the time of the fairies being human. The ending scared me though. That's all that I'm going to say.

12/21/03

Yes, I know the site still exists. I had personal problems. Well, they've been taken care of. I'll update tomorrow.

12/12/03

Well, school is over, but I am only out of school for 3 weeks. Even if school is over, I still feel horrible. I was supposed to drop a class, but I was too late and the rest doesn't need to be said.

12/9/03

Today's my study day. My final on art or retry for that matter is on Thursday. So, I'm facing a final every day after today. I'm also choosing classes.

It's funny that my parents watched "Revolution" with me. They were never really into popular music back when they were younger. What surprised me though is that they liked Baby V.O.X. Well, they watched it because I was cleaning the kitchen at the time and they were in the kitchen as well. Then, I told them that I watch because as I quote "I'm totally different from your other children in terms of music. They have the pleasure of listening to the radio to listen to their songs every single day and I don't, as I have to wait for certain days just for these types of shows to go on."

"Kid Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken" - 1: This is the anime I'm the editor for. I have never played the game, but what caught my attention were the "Sakura Taisen" feel and the art being done by Takahashi Rumiko-sensei. It sure does have the "Sakura Taisen" feel, which is not surprising because Enterbrain and Red created the game. I want to know what gender is Nekomaru though. I'm guessing that Nekomaru's a male because I have never seen or met a girl whose name ends with "-maru". So, it has action and it's a joy to watch overall.

12/5/03

Edited the script on the new anime series we're working with. What is it? Wait and see.

Yeah, I'm so a rebel. I have finals and I'm neglecting to study for them. Art final will be done on Monday, which is not a finals day, Theater final will be on Wednesday and Japanese final will be a week from today. Originally, I wished that I did not have my Japanese final a week from today, but I guess it's an opportunity for me to look for Capcom's U.S. branch. I so failed last time and I won't make the same mistake again. I'm bringing a trustworthy map with me.

I saw some more vids of "Samurai Spirits Zero". Two words sum them up: nostalgia goodness. Of course, I don't like some of the new fundamentals, but I have to play it just because it's Samurai Spirits. It's obvious that I'm going to try Mina the moment I play this. At first, I thought, "Hey! Mina isn't played by Satsuki-san", but I guess it became more clearer for me. Maybe, for someone as young as me, I'm aging at a quick rate.

When this gig is over, I will post up the news on the "Rockman II" video by Morimoto. My gosh! He finished it in less than a half-hour! It would take me like six of those to finish it!

I finally did it! I actually finished..."Onegai Twins". It has a nice start and I like a good amount of the character interactions, but that ren'ai shtick (and yes, you spell it that way or you can drop the "c") killed it in the long run. Honestly, I never did see much of "Onegai Teacher", but from what I remember, other than character problems, there's not much else to say. I wouldn't say it's one of the best out there, but I'd say that it's solid because of the story elements. In the future, I'll make reviews for these two.

"Chrno Crusade" - 2: Well, it's a character background episode, but I found it barely acceptable. Once again, I got my weekly dose of Rosette, but this episode didn't click with me as much as the first one. I don't think I'll ever know why. Chrno did have moments to shine though. Anyway, here's to hoping that the third episode will be a good one.

"True Love Story: Summer Days and Yet" - 1: Just a character introductions episode, like most first episodes out there. It's generic, but despite the fact that the game came out earlier this year, the series itself started in 1996. So, it evens out. I'm glad the four-month wait was worth it. I'll be eyeing on this for sure. Major thanks goes to Wannabe for translating this! Too bad I can only enjoy the moments of Hina and the rest of the crew two more times.

"Binzume Ysei" - 9: The last episode was a bit bland, but this one made up for it to some degree. They parody old dorama with interesting results.

12/3/03

Sigh. I am so a rebel. I'm neglecting to study for my Japanese test for tomorrow. So, I edited minor stuff on the site. Anyway, I'm now an editor for Anime-Influx. I was going to be a translator, but I'm only a Japanese I student. Oh and yeah, we're in dire need of translators. I've been asking people left and right. Will I get help in time? I don't know. I need money though.

11/28/03

Might as well get this entry out of the way. I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving Day yesterday to those in the United States. If you don't celebrate it, but you had some sort of celebration right around this time, omedet.

I finished "Fumoffu". I need to finish "Sutepri" though. If you have not seen these two yet, do so. They're that good.

The "SMB III" video shortened my lifespan by a bit, I think. I don't know if seeing that video was a good thing or not, but it was entertaining. Maybe it is a good thing, especially since now these days, you see fighting game combos that are insane. This video tops those in my opinion. Haven't watched much anime due to school and such.

"Chrno Crusade" - 1: It is said that this does not relate to the "Chrono" games, but the songs have a touch of them. Anyway, I never read the manga, but I am liking this. The pair of Tomoko-san and Akira-san works and I am looking forward to a weekly dose of Rosette goodness. The elder scares me though.

11/7/03

Well, I'm done with updates. Yay! I won't type up an entry for the next three weeks because of school.

11/6/03

Bleh! It looks like I'll need the late parts of today and I need tomorrow as well to finish the reviews. Oh well. It's not that bad.

11/5/03

As of the mid-way point of today, I am have done the R reviews. I have to fix up the Saikano review later. After that, I need to do the "S" game reviews and I guess that'll be it for today. By tomorrow, I will have finished fixing each and every review in terms of wording, I hope. If not, the day after tomorrow.

11/4/03

Going to do reviews that begin with "R" later today, assuming that all goes well.

11/3/03

I'll stop giving recaps of episodes for a while. I'm just going to get various episodes and not watch them until the quarter is over. I can handle watching anime only once for a month plus. I'll be working on reviews that begin with "K" and beyond. Right now, I'm done with reviews up to the letter "M".

11/2/03

"Love Hina's" reviews should have received changes as in they make up the first pair of reviews to have the way of writing the title in Japanese. I'm satisfied with them. Every new week will be like spending time in Hell though. Preparing for its first birthday is a Hell-like experience as well. I am not going to pull off this stunt again. This will only shorten my life span. Then again, many matters do.

Ah, forget that little thought that's been telling me to wait! I will indicate that every task has been done on the 28th, even though the month just barely got started. The month will try to kill me before I know it and so will next month. All I need to do now is work on reviews that are up and some side stuff. I have to edit their formats, but I won't do the task I did with the "Love Hina" reviews. I'll do that when the quarter's over. Oh and why I have trouble with katakana is beyond me.

"Binzume Ysei" - 5: Summer is about to end and the fairies decide to go swimming. Of course, there's more to summer than swimming. They enjoyed the other events and they got their chance to swim. Good episode. (Yeah, I know about the swimsuit gig, but it's nothing.)

10/31/03

Happy Halloween everyone or Day of the Dead for some of you. If you see any reviews with the last update date of 11/28, no, it's not because I have came from the future. Doing them all on the 28th will be pretty rough if you catch my drift. That's why I have the date "11/28".

I have plenty of work to do. Believe me. I had a fat Japanese test yesterday and I think I did pretty solid on it. Oh and as for what I will be, I'll just don my beret and say that I am a French exchange student or I was going to do that. =P

It's raining and it's cold. That's not good for the kids. Looks like I have stay in my room for a while because I am by myself and I have no candy. Oh well.

"Kiminozo" - 3: Everyone has grown up. Mitsuki no longer has short hair and I have to say that I like it that way. Takayuki has a job now and Akane is rarely her cheery self. It keeps getting darker and darker. At least the omake did bright the scenario up. Oh and it feels weird that there is no eye catch, but for some reason, it works.

10/26/03

I've decided. A month from the day after tomorrow, I'll update to celebrate its first birthday. The site will have a name change (which I have been planning for a while now) and a lot of new stuff will be up. On that day, the site will now be known as "Jazzie-kun no Uchi". Boy, I sure could use a double right about now.

"Binzume Ysei" - 4: It's July and that means summer time. A starry night appears and Hororo pulls an Osaka by doing some silly task: being missing to be a mad scientist. In the end, she stops being one and I will stop there. Well, I finally found out that the fairies are in Japan to be human. (I actually read about it earlier, but I just wanted to be sure.) Maybe it has a good chance of being my anime of the year.

10/24/03

Funny. It has been nearly a year and I haven't used up half of my web space. Am I a good conserver? I suppose. Ha ha ha.

I'm updating the site, but I haven't made any front page announcement because I'm still correcting little mistakes. So, there won't be an announcement until next month. Yeah.

I got Arina's theme song of "Waku Waku 7". Oh yeah. It's a song that can rival with the "Psycho Soldier" theme song.

I originally said that I wasn't going to watch "Enishi" and more of "R.O.D.'s" television series because both were picked up by Geneon, but I'll stop watching them when the first volume of each series hits North America. So, when I see dates on Geneon's site, I'll put an end to my viewings of each series and find some way to buy them. (Yeah, this name gig really will take some time since I sometimes don't have the will to stop typing "Pioneer".) I only saw the first episode of each series and I have to say that they're pretty much the same.

Godanner has Hisakawa Aya-sama, but it looks to be like a super mecha series + fan service. I haven't been watching too many series of this season, but there's no fan sub of this yet. Oh well.

"Maburaho" - 1: Um, it may be a magical "Love Hina", but it's a good magical Love Hina. Kazuki, the poor sap, may seem like he doesn't have magical powers, but saps like him can be deceiving. The observer looks at the girls in only their under garments to check their magical levels.

In the end, I felt satisfied with this show. The upperclass girls look good, but Rin, the "Motoko" of the series looks, well flat. I'm sure that she'll have some kind of vulnerable spot like Motoko later on. Major kudos to Sugar-Cube for being the first group to bring out this series, though I'm sure that I will see better looking versions of the first episode.

"Tsuki Hime" - 2: Tno learns more about the girl he met up with out of nowhere and she, Arcueid, decides to make him her shield, even though she can do some wicked stuff. Good episode right here.

"Kiminozo" - 2: My fellow fans, I found my new reason to watch this series: Haruka's little sister, Akane! She makes this series go! Hee!

Well, all I can say now is that the end of the episode felt like I've been punched in the gut. Then, I did some research and you know the rest from there. It surprised me.

I heard that up to this point, if not, up to the third episode, in which I still need to see, it has already covered half of the game. I don't know what's up with the fast pace all of a sudden, but regardless, I'm actually enjoying this. To those who have been saying that it's too generic and instantly stopped watching it after the first episode, you're missing out on a good series.

10/19/03

Went to No Name Anime meeting yesterday. It's bad that they're moving out of San Jose. Hope that they move to Milpitas. At least I won a couple of Geneon postcards. (This new name gig will take time to get used to.)

I'm too lazy to do work! Still, I have to do it. I might as well get a start on my final art project on "Kimagure Orange Road's" Madoka. (I still need to see that anime by the way.)

I just saw "Guardian Hearts's" second pair. The final pair should be out by the end of the year, I think. I don't know why I'm still watching this. Oh wait. The seiy are the reason why. Plus, I feel that it's my duty to do so.

So, the Yankees and the Marlins are in the World Series. If this was a Boston-Chicago Cubs series, I'd be more interested, but meh. Why should I care about two teams who won at least one World Series in the last 7 years, especially the Yankees? I might be able to win a free X-Box bundle and that means an instant $300 if I sell it. Hooray! Anyway, before I do my usual anime run downs, I'll probably put up an entry once or twice a week and there will always be one on Friday, assuming that there are no mishaps. I feel tired now. I'll toughen my act tomorrow.

"Binzume Ysei" - 3: Today, we learn about June brides and the fairies were with rain charms. This discussion was brought up by Sensei-san's love letter he received. I won't talk about the "senpai" used in this episode. =P

"Fumoffu" - 3: Yji-san + Kaneda Tomoko-san saying the tagline + Kaname's new hair style = a real good episode.

"Fumoffu" - 4: I didn't notice this earlier, but one of the "Taiho Shichau Zo!" spoof ladies, who appears in the first story, is voiced by Hiramatsu Akiko-sama. Um, we need more of the pair, especially this one?

"Tsuki Hime" - 1: It's here. What can I say? This can push Sutepri. Will it do so at the end? I don't know.

"Fumoffu" - 5: It may have been delayed for a short bit, but I can say that the first story was weird and as for the second story, old people just flat out scare me.

10/16/03

Well, nothing special has went on in the last few days. Right now, I've decided to use images for games just because I feel like I should. Otherwise, how will a person know what will a game look like? Of course, I still need to find a place where I can get good screen shots of certain games.

Anyway, I should make a list of the anime I'm watching up to this point and the fan sub group.

"Tsuki Hime" - New Life Anime

"Macross Zero" - New Life Anime

"Binzume Ysei" - Hikari no Kiseki

"Fumoffu" - Aozora and Anime-Keep

"Kiminozo" - Lunar and Anime-Keep

Here's the list of series I will see in the next few days and with the groups.

"First Kiss Story OVA" - Ishin

"Ashita no Nadja" (A spring series) - The only group who is translating this: Anime Coalition

"Pluster World" (Another spring series) - The only group who is translating this: Miyuki

"Ultra Maniac" (The last spring series I'm interested up to this point) - Random

"Maburaho" - No fan subs yet

Here's the list of series I will see later this season.

"Futatsu no Speaker"

"Rabbie"

There are some old series that I still need to finish like "Kanon" and "Sutepri". I stopped watching some series because they either have been licensed like "Enishi's" case as well as the case of "R.O.D." the televsion series, they're hard to find now like "Pita Ten" or they don't have the touch anymore like "Ikki Tsen".

10/13/03

I am aware that "Tsuki Hime" is out, but I'm watching the NLA version as I have said earlier. Oh and "Enishi" will be brought to the States. Unless there's an interesting fan sub of the first episode, I'm just going to wait for the DVD's. At least this will lighten my anime load.

"Binzume Ysei" - 2: Today, we learn about golden week. Golden week is the week that deals with the many mid-spring holidays. Anyway, this episode was just as funny as the first one. As Tama-chan showed us, this episode receives a big thumbs up from me. I forgot to note that each episode is titled by each month and with this in mind, the ending scenes match the month that was introduced.

10/12/03

Nothing special went on today, though I did shake hands with the mayor of Milpitas. Zepy has placed up news on an "Azumanga" fighter. I'm still surprised that Freetype has not made an update for a while. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

10/11/03

I'm a person that's 5/6 on the kawaii chart. I guess I was really born that cute. Hah! That goes to show that I'm just a kid stuck with the adult status. Gah! Father Time can really screw me over when he wants me to! Geez! I wish I was 17 again.

10/10/03

Just saw "Wonderful Days". It's CG candy and nothing much else. At least some characters look like various fighting game characters. Would I see it again? No.

"Sailor Moon - Live" - 1: Well, it's finally here. The series many people have waited and shivered for, but also praying that it will be okay is here. I don't think a description is needed here.

Naru's mom becomes under some trance and she tries to steal the energy of the people attending the show. It's like the series we've been used to seeing. Of course, it's obvious on how this will end.

There are good points and bad points to the series. The costumes are fine and so are the normal parts pretty much. The parody subs are hilarious. However, many of the effects were questionable and there's no question that the fight scenes are corny. Plus, although is is nice to have Han Keiko-san playing as Luna again, it is a shame that the original music is not in here. Even though I want to see the rest of the senshi, I don't know if I should continue watching this or not. As for the people who said that BoA should have been Minako, I don't know if that's remotely possible, but she certainly would be a good choice.

10/8/03

Arnold is California's new governor. Anyway, I might have two money making gigs in my hands soon. It looks like I'll have to make adjustments. More will be said later.

10/7/03

Managed to watch the first episodes of a couple of series recently.

"Binzume Ysei"/"Bottle Fairy" - 1: Not much plot is seen up to this point. You just get a good glance at some of the characters like the fairies: Sarara, Kururu, Chiriri and Hororo, the sensei and Tama-chan, who is just a cute girl. The fairies wonder what a school ceremony is and such and Tama-chan just throws in some random insane stuff. It's kawaii and any series that has either Yui (Sariri) or Haruko (Tama-chan) or better yet both in this case will instantly get attention from me. Even though the episodes are 15 minutes or so, it's still fun and I will continue watching this. Oh and I like the use of dots. By the way, the game this is based on will come out in Japan later this month as what I have heard from Jasc.

"Kimi ga Nozomu Eien"/"The Eternity You Wish For" - 1: I'm easily bait for sappy romance series and that's what this is: a sappy romance series. All I know is that it's based on a naughty game and not much else. Anyway, Takayuki is a guy who doesn't know what to do after high school and out of nowhere, Haruka confesses her love to him. Mizuki, Haruka's best friend, has a weird hair style though. I'll probably be watching more of this series mainly because of Haruka. =P

10/6/03

That's it. I'm not going to fool around anymore. I'll limit myself to 2 anime episodes per day.

10/2/03

Wah! I'll be real busy this month. I don't like these situations, but I have to deal with this one.

"Hummingbird" - 2: The girls had a few competitions. There were a couple of cute girls added, but they were nothing compared to Satsuki. Ha ha ha! I saw another good episode. The subbing groups still can't fix that problem though.

10/1/03

I've got to stop taking risks and stop being slick like Lupin. I feel iffy, but I must fight the day. "Maburaho's" site has brought out its grand opening, but some parts need to be fixed still. I'll watch "Hummingbird's" second episode later.

9/30/03

"Ai Yori Aoshi - Enishi" - 0: Another preview. This time, it's set during Christmas. Don't know why this was shown now and not during Christmas, but oh well. Santa looks like Aoi-chan. I need to finish the first season and I need to get a start on my Christmas list.

9/29/03

Whoo! Japanese music videos every Friday night! I'll type up more later.

9/28/03

Yeah, yeah. I know. I shouldn't be typing up an entry. If I am not updating, I am usually updating this section or my Ins and Outs section.

I am taking a short break. I am doing future tasks right now. Oh and I got "Jniky de Tsukamaete". I'll bring out a review of it by the time this quarter's over. Might as well do my anime and manga rundown.

"Tsuki Hime" - 0: It's not an episode. It's just a preview. Nice art and story indeed. I will follow this one for sure and I'll watch NLA's version, the version of the preview I just saw.

"Yotsuba To!" - 1, chapter 3: Yotsuba learns about global warming. She also learns about air conditioners and wonders if they can make ice cream. Air conditioners making ice cream would actually be cool. Anyway, it's your usual childhood chapter. I'll be waiting for chapter 4 now.

9/21/03

Well, I placed up two extra updates. I think I am satisfied. Anyway, I'll be back in December most likely. If I get my work done during the Thanksgiving weekend, I might update at my one-year anniversary. The date will depend on that weekend itself. Time to close the diary now, as I will open it again in a few months.

9/19/03

Unless something hits me, summer's updating session is over. I start school on Monday. I'll be back in December.

9/17/03

That's that for the reviews. I pretty much did what I wanted to do. I think I'll take it easy for the last few days. Okay, that editing project is still calling out my name. I might as well finish it now. Ah, I'll start working on it again in 15 minutes.

I might as well mention my schedule for the rest of the week. Today, I will finish the editing project. Tomorrow, I will make a "Humminbird" review and I still have to fix my own "Tokimemo: Girl's Side" guide. On the day after that, I will make a "Mizuiro Jidai" review. The weekend will be a time of future tasks and that will be it.

The next updating session will be different. I will still have to fix the site up. It might even take up the spring one as well. I know that the next summer session will be different because I won't have to worry about fixing the whole site. The site will be fine by then. Of course, that will mean less reviews and reports, but that's okay. If I don't have much work on Thanksgiving Day, I might do a fall update, but it won't be much.

Oh boy. So much updating to do and so few days. Ha ha ha! I'll put up a diary entry on Friday as well as a rant and that'll be it.

9/15/03

Well, this is it. This is the last week of updates for this season. I'm sure that next season will be better.

All is well for the most part. I got the key to my room back since my parents locked it up on accident. Now I just need to buy a toothbrush because my parents misplaced it. Oh boy.

I might as well work my schedule out. I have a bunch of stuff to do. Yeah.

9/11/03

Boy, am I one big fat mess? Though I didn't wake up at 11 in the morning, I still am waking up later than I wanted. This is bad because I want to get used to my schedule.

Not only that, but now my updating schedule has been messed up as well. Gah! When will the madness end?

I am not the only mess. One of my computers is one too. I don't know how, but it got a virus. Yabe!

So, what now? I don't know. I'll update tomorrow still, but it will be a tiny one. If all goes well, next week will be better and that'll be the end of this updating season. After this updating season, I won't be back until the 12th of December.

9/10/03

The good news: up to this point, I have two more chapters to go. The bad news: tomorrow will be torture and to make matters worse, the author just had to update her guide today. For now, I might as well start with my day so far in the anime and manga world.

It's official: "Nanaka's" theme song has been addictive for a week! Okay. Enough of that. Might as well give a rundown on each latest episode of each series I've seen up to this point.

"Ex-Driver Danger Zone": Yeah, it's old, but oh well. Nina and Rei sure are different in the OVA. Sort of. Of course Rei was like Lisa and Nina was like Lorna, but oh well. Someone's stalking Nina, but the crew tries to figure out who's doing it and if there's some sort of connection. I guess it was worth my half-hour.

"Onegai Twins" - 7: I am starting to think that this series is losing its touch. Oh sure, it's the beach episode, but the ren'ai oath Miina and Karen made is really starting to be silly. Yeah.

"Scrapped Princess" - 5: I know that I'm behind. So far, it has the best chance of getting my "Anime Series of the Year" award. I won't give an analysis of this episode because I want to catch up to everyone and be watching the latest episode, which is episode 20.

"Ikki Tsen" - 6: Fights have already started. Ryom gets some action here. I thought I would have stopped watching this after episode 4 because of the bad opening and such, but then I remembered why I watched this in the first place. It's by J.C. Staff, the music is by Avex and Kikuko-sama plays as Hakufu's okaa-san.

"Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu" - 3: No, this is not the real episode 2. Anyway, Kaname is invited to some young boy's fancy place. I won't ask how Ssuke managed to get to Kaname though. Ha ha ha! I don't know why the opening song sounds like an ending song, but oh well.

"R.O.D." TV - 1: The characters have been introduced. I find a connection between the television series and the OVA series. I never thought I would say this, but I have now thrown away my regrets of watching this series. It probably won't win my "Anime Series of the Year" award this year, but it has a very good chance of doing so next year. Sure, I only see reflections of Yomiko and Nancy is not here, but Nenene, Michelle, Maggie and Anita make up for that and besides, great characters, great voice acting, great studio in J.C. Staff, great music, I don't see why it shouldn't win my award next year up to this point.

"Hummingbird" - 1: I know. This is an old series. Well, this is the first time that this series has ever been fan subbed.

We see the Toreishi sisters and their mom being introduced. You have to remember that this is a 1993 series. Aside from that, this is a nice parody of your standard military and idol series. Actually, it's a nice mix of both. The sisters are all cute and the songs were that good as well as the voice actors.

There was one major mistake I managed to catch in an instant. Their last name is Toreishi, not Tracy. They're not part-Japanese. Other than that, there's not much else to complain about. Yeah, there's no story, but if I wanted a story, I would be watching "Area 88" by now.

What can I say? It is that good. I will definitely continue to watch this, even though I don't like military series in general.

"Onegai Twins" - 8: Ho-hum. Sure, we get to know more about some of the side characters, but that's it. I hope that the next episode will be better or I will think that this show was too good to be true.

9/9/03

For each day, I will work on three chapters of the guide. I have finished the three chapters I needed to work on. As of this moment, I am waiting for "Ex-Driver Danger Zone", but I will watch more "Scrapped Princess" now. For the last few days, it has owned my soul. Ha ha ha!

9/8/03

I showed my friend a picture of "Love Hina's" Shinobu-chan as a late teen. Guess what? He drooled. Ha ha ha! Then I wiped his drool.

I hate school. I start two weeks from today. Ugh! Might as well do last minute preparations before I start. I also hate it when my site goes down due to overuse of bandwidth. Oh well.

Okay. I am not going to update for the next few days because I'll be editing a "Tokimemo" guide. I might as well finish it before school begins.

My scheduler will be a mess after I edit it. Ha ha ha! Come forth my scheduler! (Yeah, I sense that the Nanaka theme song will be addicting for a whole week.)

9/7/03

It is a little past midnight. I will actually take this day off to be serious. All of the tasks will resume tomorrow (including my anime watching).

9/6/03

Today, I forgot that this website existed. Oh, forget this! I got a bunch of anime series to watch! I'll probably pick up the Sugar Special later!

9/5/03

I did something I haven't done in a long time. I woke up later than 7 this morning. I woke up at 11. I don't do that a lot. I guess it's because I have been sleeping late recently and because I don't have an alarm clock to help me get up early, I am not able to practice waking up instantly come school time.

Three days straight and "Nanaka's" theme song is still addictive. At this rate, it will be addictive for a whole week at least. Ha ha ha!

I will watch "Tsuki Hime", "Maburaho", "Ai Yori Aoshi - Enishi" and few others for this fall. I will start editing another "Tokimemo Girls Side" guide. Ha ha ha!

I am sorry that I didn't start watching "Scrapped Princess" earlier. This is one of the best series of the year. I slapped myself earlier for not watching this back in June and I also slapped myself for not watching the first "Full Metal Panic" series. Speaking of the latter, hopefully, a friend of mine will give me it and I finally found out what a Fumoffu is. It's a mascot of an amusement park in Japan and you see it in the opening animation of the second series.

Dag! It's almost 3 in the afternoon and I only ate a few Cinnamon Toast Crunch squares. That's it. Now that I mentioned Cinnamon Toast Crunch, what ever did happen to those other two chefs? Looks like I'll never know. I might as well find something to eat now, in which there isn't much.

9/3/03

"Nanaka's" theme song is real...addictive. It now holds the record for quickest time to be addictive for me. I don't know how many times have I played this song already, but I finally got it. Hee!

Wow! I placed up a lot of material for tomorrow's update. Will I stop from there? I don't know.

Geez! It's past 2 in the afternoon already as I type this entry up? Time flys by fast.

Article for the Pike is up. I know I have been dead for a while at various sites. This is what happens when you run a site. You become dead for a while for various sites.

I feel beat now. I'll take the rest of the day off at 3. I guess I have chores to do still.

8/26/03

Recently, my brother's friend and I had a convo that went something like this:

Me - Somebody else got Naru.

Friend - Naru's my woman! I don't care what anyone else says! =X

Me - *I look cutely confused.* I thought BoA was your woman.

Friend - I plan to get married in India. It's legal to have a lot of wives there.

Me - Oh yeah. I hope you and your harem enjoy yourselves. ^^'

Friend - Ha ha ha!

I think that speaks for itself, ne?

8/25/03

Okay. It's late and my mind is tired. I'll post up an entry tomorrow.

8/22/03

I'm surprised that I actually placed up an update and that some of the changes have decided to take place. Yeah, I am working my butt off and I didn't play that much today. All I did was update and kept doing future tasks. I feel beat. I also feel full from eating four slices of pizza.

Phew! Yeah. I really am beat.

I will give one of my Milpitas tenants my anime collection later this month. I was supposed to give it to her a long time ago, but every time I visited Milpitas, it slipped out of my mind. So, this time, I won't forget. She has been to Japan before. She's so lucky. Well, I know I will go there after college.

8/19/03

I'm back with a vengance! I always wanted to say that. Hee hee!

For Monday and Wednesday, I have Theatre from 9:30 to 11:10 in the morning and Drawing from 11:30 to 2:10 in the afternoon. I have Japanese I on Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons from 1:30 to 3:40. I also am taking some Asian class for distant learning. I got the classes I wanted. So, I'm happy.

Next month will be torture for me. Not only will school begin when the month is about to close, but I will also have to do major updating. So, no new material will be up, I suppose.

I will get some Hi Chew soon. Wai! I will also get episodes 5-8 of "Mizuiro Jidai", the 16-episode set of "Di Gi Charat's" television series and "Yokohama Kaidashi Kik". Yeah, I feel pretty good for the most part.

Where did all of the Japanese music video shows go? I only see Korean ones! Dag nab it! I want my Japanese music videos back! I want to see Puffy's Boogie Woogie No. 5 video again! It's not right if I only see the Korean ones and no Japanese ones! I must be able to see Korean and Japanese ones!

*sighs*

Anyway, I'll close this entry up now. I might as well enjoy the rest of the month. Next month will be a hassle.

8/14/03

Gah! I hate this! Tomorrow's the last the day I will update this summer! (If not, the last day!) Unless my parents change their minds, this updating season's over!

*sighs*

Yeah, I'm in a real bad mood. Will there be a way for me to get out of it? Not really.

Yeah, it's hard for a lot of my friends to have a friend pass away. Unlike them, I always keep saying that life runs by itself. I know I am being harsh, but no one said that life is a toy you can have fun with. Oh and guess what? I am not a kid that has always had a bright life. That's why I am harsh quite often.

I'll be back on the 12th of December. That is if all goes well. Will that happen? I don't know.

Okay. This will be my last diary entry of the season. Mata ne.

8/11/03

I'm going to the funeral. I'm attending the church gathering in Milpitas, but I'm not going to the cemetary here. If I did go to the cemetary, I would not be able to pick up Pocky, Pretz (the Japanese Pretz as in the snack "Onegai Twins's" Karen likes, not the Korean version of Pocky), Gummy and hopefully, Hi-Chew.

Kay. I'm off. I'll most likely update tomorrow.

8/9/03

The dark side of the day: today and tomorrow are prep days of the funeral or something like that. The funeral will be on the day after tomorrow. I might go to it and if I do, I probably won't update. I also should pick up some Pocky, some Pretz (the Japanese Pretz as in the snack "Onegai Twins's" Karen likes, not the Korean version of Pocky), and Gummy. Hopefully, I'll be able to have Hi-Chew as well. Man! Why does Japantown have to be the place with an Asian store that's the closest spot to my place now? It's so far!

The bright side of the day: I got the final tankubon of the "Card Captor Sakura" manga! Wai! Yatta! "Kdo Kyaput Sakura" daisuki yo! No, I don't plan on selling it! Hee! I wish I was able to do a task like this when I was younger, but at least I was able to do it now.

Jazz-kun feel tired. Should start thinking about sleeping. Yasumi!

8/8/03

Dag nab it! There's a 50/50 chance that I will stop updating by the time Anipike celebrates its 8th birthday! Why? Who else? The parents.

Don't know what I'll do from here on. Might as well have fun while it lasts. Yeah.

8/5/03

I still don't know why your end had to come now. You had given a lot of people so much spirit and you were funny from time to time. A lot of people will need time to get used to moving on without you. Yeah, I was never a person who hanged out with friends a lot, but even though I have many friends, if I lose a friend, I lose some spirit, even though I try to fight it.

I lost another friend seven years ago. I doubt that you know who Ros is. Still, yeah, I hung on.

Like I said, a lot of people won't like moving on without you, especially Jack, Matt, Daniel, and so many others. That's life. Life runs by itself.

Well, I will close this diary entry now. May the Lord accept you into his divine place. Salamat Melvin, ako ng kaibigan.

8/1/03

August is here. Looks like I'll continue doing future tasks. Hee!

7/26/03

I am 21 now. Yay! Well, the day is about to end soon. Oyasumi nasai.

7/24/03

Darn you Los Angeles! You always get the new games first! Oh yeah. SNK Playmore's American branch is close to Los Angeles. Capcom's is close to San Jose. Oh well.

I'm listening to song samples of a fan made game. "Air Rade" is the name of the game, I think. Yeah. I'm also listening to Yui-sama's "Happy Happy Rice Shower"...again. Just when you think that it just is a normal song, the moment you play it is the moment it becomes addictive. This works on me so often.

Got episode 2 of "Onegai Twins". So, I need to watch that. I also went on to beat the first Neo Geo Pocket "Metal Slug" game. Now I need to beat the second one. I also have to play the fifth game on the Neo Geo system.

The day after tomorrow is my birthday. Boy, I feel old. I seriously do. I might as well live with it.

7/22/03

I most definitely need money. I need to see "Cosmos" and uh, yeah. Geez! It still is so freaking hot.

7/19/03

Getting "Onegai Twins" as I type this up. Saw "Da Capo" and more "Get Backers". I need to see "Cosmos". I really need to update my page.

It's still so hot. That's why I'm not typing much right now. Atsui na.

7/18/03

Good golly! I haven't placed an entry here in a while. I'll put a long entry up tomorrow.

7/8/03

Wah! I'm a busy bee indeed! I'm like Megumi-sama in her old days! Hee hee!

I have to resend my reviews to Anipike. I don't know why, but yeah, I know that so much material is submitted. So, reviews like mine can be lost. Besides, Anipike is still developing. Adding on, I am editing a review for someone that will be up at a future Anipike column. I'm also helping out various sites like Anime Densetsu and Freetype. Add in a contest or two to the mix.

Well, Playmore is now known as SNK Playmore. At least the "SNK" part is still there. It still feels weird that SNK is back. It's like I'm playing games from a ghost. Don't ask why.

I've made my decision on the characters I will choose in "SNK vs. Capcom: Chaos" if tests hit Sunnyvale or Hayward. (It'd be better if the tests were in San Jose, but I wouldn't mind going elsewhere in the Bay Area.) I will choose Shiki, Chun-Li, Mai, Kasumi and Tabasa in that order. Yes, I will only choose the girls. The roster doesn't look as charismatic as I hoped it would be and that's why I'm only picking the girls.

This could possibly be the most lifeless game I will ever play. So, why still play it? No clue. Seriously, people will chew me up if I don't give out test results. I will make a review of the game in the future, but it won't be pretty.

In terms of anime and manga, I saw the first episode of "Happy Lesson Advance" and "Divergence Eve". "Happy Lesson" is "Happy Lesson" and "Advance" still has the charm. I did not have much fun watching "Divergence Eve" though. The voice actors are okay and I like the ending song, but in the end, it doesn't know if it should be a real deep science fiction series or a fan service series and the plot is really complex for me. I am reading the "Kanon" manga and that one new manga series Akamatsu Ken-sensei is working on. The name has escaped me, but it's about a magical boy and he travels to Japan to do some tasks.

I will watch "Cinderella Boy", that one Takahashi Rumiko-sensei series and some others. I need to read more "Rose Hip Rose" and that one "Kiddy Grade" side story manga. "Cinderella Boy" is one series I look forward to. I heard that "Da Capo" is based on a weak visual novel, but to make sure that people watched the anime, the staff went on to hire as much big name seiy as they could. You have people like Horie Yui-sama, Tamura Yukari-san, Matsuoka Yuki-san, Nogawa Sakura-san, Matsui Naoko-san and Momoi Haruko-san. In some cases, voice actors can't drag me to watch a series easily, but I will watch a few episodes, especially since Yui-sama is in it.

For old stuff, I want to watch more "Mizuiro Jidai" and I still need to get the final "Tokimemo" OVA. I need to read more "Yokohama Shopping District". (The Japanese name has escaped from my mind right now.) Oh yeah. I also need to catch up on my "Hime-chan no Ribon".

I want a Japanese Saturn. I also want a Japanese Dream Cast, a Japanese Play Station 2, a domestic and Japanese Neo-Geo home system, a Neo-Geo Pocket and a region 2 DVD player. Yes, I want a region 2 DVD player.

Oh yeah. Puffy will sing the opening song to that new series, "Teen Titans". I found my reason to look forward to this series.

I'm done typing now. I shouldn't work out myself too hard. Hee hee!

7/1/03

I don't want to say much now. I dropped my only class. It's not worth attending it for six weeks. My next project will be a guide for "Quiz Nanairo Dreams", even though the game is in Japanese. Although it will be hard to make one, it will also be fun.

I might also edit the only "Kanon" guide out there. That is if I get the chance to do so. Yeah.

Okay. Time to edit more stuff. Edit, edit, edit.

6/30/03

Oh darn. Tomorrow's my first day of summer school. I want to have more fun!

Anyway, I'm getting tired now. Even though I only did a review for Anime Densetsu and that I brought in a column for Anipike, I feel tired. I won't use the computers that much starting tomorrow, during my time at school. Yeah.

Mata ne.

6/27/03

Well, I'm updating. It's too early to do a big fat update, but I guess that I should do it now. I don't know why, but Yui-sama's "Happy Happy Rice Shower" is so addictive. Oh and yes, I'm listening to this song as we speak.

I actually underestimated myself with the quiz book. I thought I'd only get half of the questions right, but I was wrong. I got like 70% if the questions right. I still need to work on my "Macross", "Kimagure Orange Road" and such though. I want to watch "Kimagure Orange Road".

"Onegai Twins", "Happy Lesson Advance", "Cinderella Boy", and a few other series look great. For the video game side, "To Heart II" looks nice and so does "Metal Slug V". Iku ze Eri! Hee hee!

From the looks of today, I will experience another sauna day. I might as well update now while I still can and do those other tasks too. I sure can use some strawberry shaved ice right about now.

6/26/03

Did you know that "sauna" is the only Finnish word used in everyday conversations? I say this because that is what my scenario is like. It's so hot right now.

It's funny. "Clannad" was supposed to be out by now, but I don't know what is taking Key so long. Oh well. I guess it will come up next spring. Man, I wish it was spring still!

Okay. Time to work on column for Anipike now and other stuff. Otherwise, I'll forget about them later on.

6/25/03

Well, this is my first diary entry. It's funny. I'll probably develop the habit of bringing entries here, but I never had that habit with my real diary. I would write an entry every six months or so. =P

I really hate school so much. I don't want to talk about the past quarter. I just wish that I can be like Hime-chan and make a double of myself.

I'm helping various sites out now. I don't want to say that I'm the hottest person out there in terms of anime and manga involvement online. Maybe I am.

I need to finish watching "Nanaka". I was supposed to finish "Mahtsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto" like two or three months ago, but I got held up and now, Pioneer picked that series up. That means I'll have to wait.

Hopefully, I'll be working at the Waldens book store downtown. This is good because by working at a book store, I can learn from various series not only in the manga world, but outside of it as well. It will be helpful if I want to go into being a voice actor in the long run. I want to be a voice actor for Pioneer, but I will do series from other companies as well.

Guh! I forgot about professional/academic refs. Dag nab it! Oh well. I'll worry about it tomorrow.

I want to work with Korean series too. I can probably be the first actor to be a dub actor for a Korean animated series. (That is if it hasn't occured by now.) I wonder where I can find Korean animated series in California and hopefully subtitled. Maybe I should consider teaching myself Korean if I ever get the opportunity to be a dub actor for one.

Of course, it wouldn't be right if I forgot about my roots. After all, they molded me. There's no doubt about that.

Guh! After today, I only have four days that don't involve school. I return at the end of the month.

What am I doing now? Besides preparing myself for updating the site, I'm listening to a D.J. mix of BoA's "No. 1". Gosh, she's a cutie! Ha ha ha! Oh and I'm also listening to a Eurobeat mix of Ayumi-sama.

Just bought more "Great Teach Onizuka" manga and I finally bought the manga of "Gunsmith Cats". I sort of knew what "GC" was a while back, but I like what I see so far. I went to Chicago once, but it was for a stop on a trip to D.C. a while back.

Oh yeah. I also bought some "Taiho Shichau Zo!" manga. Those three years of personal waiting paid off. Hee hee. The one book I am not enjoying right now is this one quiz book I bought today. I did well on its first version, but I'm having trouble with it. It is really showing my weakness that I don't do well with series that are available in North America. I never saw "Aa! Megami-sama", though I have read some of the manga and I am forgetting a lot about "Escaflowne". If it had questions on "Kodocha" or "To Heart", the book would be way too easy, but I guess this book tells me that I should study series available in North America.

Okay. I'll end my first entry now. Mata ne. ^^
