REGIONAL BENEFITS

In the Lorenvale campaign, all starting characters are assumed to speak the Common tongue, but any player may choose to omit this fact from his PC, if he wishes.  Characters may receive a bonus regional language IF their INT score is 12 or above.  This bonus language is in addition to any racial or class language they may receive, and the total number of languages known (including the bonus) may not exceed the maximum allowed by the core rules.  All characters are also assumed to know how to read and write these languages unless the PC is deemed illiterate.

The regional feat is a bonus feat additive to all others and may not be chosen outside of character generation.  It represents some unique advantage that the PC gains from being born in a given region.

The regional skill grants a +4 bonus to the chosen skill regardless of whether it is a class skill.  A skill may not be selected that is forbidden by class restrictions.

The regional equipment is a single item or set of items that the PC owns as he begins his adventuring days.  He does not need to “pay” for these, so any starting gold is free to be spent on other purchases.  Items marked with an asterisk (*) are masterwork items.  You may choose to sell your bonus equipment at 50% of its listed cost, if you would rather have extra gold instead.
