The Reason Why...?
The time came when one brave soul asked, "Why the heck did you create this disgusting piece of crap?!". I am here now to answer that very question. (As I go along here writing to you all out there in Internet Land, amuse yourselves- place your cursor on the various pictures that I have included on this page and read some extra tid-bits and thoughts I have on the people in these pictures.)
I guess the most logical answer to this would be because I wanted to. But that's a little vague and somewhat rude so I'll expand further on this subject and tell you some about myself. Aren't you lucky? (Be careful how you answer that one...I know where you live because I live next door.)
My name is Erin. I live in Michigan with my mom, dad, and dog. My dog's name is Duffy- he says "WOOF!" to all of you. (Insta-Translate: "WOOF!" is dog for "Hi!".) He's a Cairn Terrier (same kind of dog as Toto was in The Wizard Of Oz).

The most dignified and intelligent man working in Hollywood today, Mr. Sam Waterston.

And now for some of my favorite things...:::sings, "Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens-"::: My favorite T.V. shows are: Law&Order, Law&Order- Special Victims Unit, That 70's Show, Cowboy Bebop, Monk,Saturday Night Live (especially the older ones), The Simpsons, Fraiser, Crossing Jordan, and, of course, Daria. My favorite movies are: Balto, The Blues Brothers, The Matrix, Bowling For Columbine, Erin Brockovich, Serial Mom, Men In Black, Glory, Speed, and The Great Gatsby. My favorite actors are Sam Waterston (who plays my favorite T.V. character, Assistant District Attorney Jack McCoy, on Law&Order) and Dan Aykroyd (who plays my favorite movie character, Elwood Blues, in The Blues Brothers). The amazing Piano Man, Billy Joel. He didn't start the fire- I did.
One of the best men in music today is (in my humble opinion) Billy Joel. I like pretty much any song he has ever penned. I appreciate his musical talent when it comes to playing the piano and his gift for song writing. It was listening to the song "River Of Dreams" on my mother's 20-year-old radio when I was in second grade that I first discovered a love of music (Stupid music class in elementary school basically taught me how to say "Te, te, ta, ta." and thats about it.). I think in a way I owe much of the success I have had in music today to Billy Joel. I also enjoy the historical references included in many of his songs. My favorite songs by him are: "River Of Dreams", "We Didn't Start The Fire", "Uptown Girl", "Only The Good Die Young", "All About Soul", "Leningrad", "Piano Man", "You May Be Right", "The Downeaster 'Alexa'", and "Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)."
My favorite Anime character is Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. He and I must have gone to the same cooking school because we both burn or blow up everything we touch (I have actually managed to screw up Easy Mac before. Yeah, false advertising, people! Its not that easy!!!)and we both leave food in the frig FAR too long with disgusting results. He also has a tendency to find the hardest way to do the simplest things- case in point, he tries to light a cigarette with a blow torch when he can't find his lighter. And then there is his bed-head hair style- that is something I can totally relate to. He doesn't like tomboys and pets (although, I think he fakes a lot of this dislike so he looks tough) so perhaps I wouldn't like him if he were real, but for a cartoon chacacter, Spike is very cool, again, in my humble opinion. Jill Hennessy- one of my favorite T.V. actresses. She is Jordan Cavanaugh on Crossing Jordan.
My favorite animated movie character is Balto (from of course, one of my favorite movies, Balto). I first came to love him back in 1995 when the movie came out. It was he who sparked my interest in dog sledding and Alaska (I already loved wolves). As I have grown older my admiration for the character has only greatened. I can identify with how he is shunned and abused by others merely because he is different and therefore viewed as a threat. When one questions the popular view of the world they are automatically branded an outsider whose opinion is of no worth. Balto ends up being a hero because he is different which should say something to us as a society- being different, thinking different, looking different IS NOT A SIN and we should not be judged on it. I say, question authority and support differences. Be true to yourself because in the end no one else has to has to be accountable for your deeds except you. It is when you are yourself that you find out who your real friends are. Do not be afraid to stand up against the crowd. When you stand for anything you stand for nothing at all. Do not do what is ONLY in your best interest all the time. Lord knows, none of us are saints but it doesn't hurt to try and be virtuous and noble from time to time. *smiles* Perhaps the world would be a better place if we all tried to be a little more like Balto. Balto wasn't willing to back down when he knew he was right. Can the same be said for you?
CD's that I think no collection should be without are: any CD by Billy Joel; any of the Blues Brothers CD's; Barenaked Ladies- "Greatest Hits, Volume One"; "Running With Scissors" by Weird Al; "Bad Hair Day" by Weird Al; and anything else that catches my fancy.
In my free-time I enjoy writing; listening to music; surfing the Net; working on my two websites; drawing; reading; and most importantly, being lazy. I really enjoy being able to make people laugh and I love to poke fun at myself and my life.
And now for some info on this site and it's mission- This site was created to reflect myself and my life. It was built to fill the void in my life left after I shut-down my X-Files site, "Aisle 51" A.K.A. "The Basement Office X-Philes". :::curses Chris Carter:::Grrrrrr::: Yeah, for those of you out there that don't know, I was a hugh "X-Files" fan until the seventh season when everything went to crap (yes, I was also a Noromo). I tried to force myself to watch the seventh and eighth seasons but the gag reflex I got every time I turned it on became too severe. Hence, I left my very first website, the website that I had slaved over since I was in 8th Grade, to die a slow and painful death in the back alleys of the Internet. The world's greatest soul men- Jake and Elwood Blues! They're on a mission from God!
The name of this site came from me trying to find a background image to use on the main page of this site. I'm just looking through some of Angelfire's stuff and I find all these brick wall patterns. I thought to myself, "Who in their right mind would use a brick wall as a background???" Then I started thinking...Maybe it was a dumb idea for a background but the brick wall concept was something that caught my attention. I had been struggling to think of a name to dub my new site up until this point- ideas I had been toying with were along the lines of "The Soapbox"; "The Theoretical Soapbox"; etc. With the introduction of the brick wall theme, though, another possible name came to light- "The Theoretical Brick Wall". I liked the ring that title had to it and it also reflected my, sometimes, cynical of view of the World- it brought to mind various sayings I've grown up hearing, "Keep banging your head against the wall- after awhile, it stops hurting." and "Stress reliever- bang head here on the wall,". And so it came to pass that the newest edition to my website endeavors was offically entitled, "The Theoretical Brick Wall".
Why did I put 'theoretical' in the name? I put the word in just merely because I love it. It makes you sound smart when you say it. You could say to your friend, "Hey, you've got a theoretical booger hanging from your nose and you'd still sound smart...What a great word! He's just dreaming a dream he hasn't woken up from- its Spike Spiegel. He and I share the same talent when it comes to cooking- burning everything.
Now, as for the motto of the site, "Where you are merely a figment of your own imagination," that came from my 10th Grade Advanced Placement American History class. Most of the people in that class were banders so there was never a dull day in there. :) One day, we were discussing something (I can't for the life of me remember what it was) and I made a really weird comment and a guy in the class, Justin, yelled across the room to me, "Hey, did you just say you're a figment of your own imagination?" I said, "Yup," and he said, "Cool." When it came time to pair a weird motto to my lovely site name for some odd reason that phrase kept going through my head (because in the end you KNOW we are really just figments of our own imaginations) so I figured, "Why not?". The rest is history.

This site is my life and my thoughts. Its a mixture of musings, rumblings, and random fits of violence. Here you will find testing of new site designs; poems; songs; art; wit; and, of course, humor. I think it is more fun to relfect on daily life in a webpage than in a blog (weblog for those of you out there that are a little less Internet savy). You have passed the point of no return so get ready to see the World from my twisted point-of-view. Welcome to my insanity- welcome to The Theoretical Brick Wall!

This really isn't anything. Just something I made up when I was bored.

Move along people. Nothing to more to see here. Hey I said GET OUTTA HERE!

A big "Thank you!" goes out to Silver Huskey for letting me use one of her Balto screen captures on this page. Visit her at
